THE AWAKENING OF MANA

Leon's last few attempts have been incredibly brutal. He began to mercilessly kill the goblins with no fear. After dying more than twenty times in their hands, his feelings of fear and compassion had vanished. He just wanted to get out of the Hell-hole.

He read the patterns which the goblins followed in their movements, made notes, created strategies, and each time he did, his theories were revised and perfected even further. Until the final attempt arrived.

Rather than rushing into the jungle itself, Leon began to wait for the goblins to move around. This approach had been devised to lure the enemy towards him rather than pursuing the enemy and reducing his escape paths.

As expected, the goblin group which was tasked with surveying the surrounding soon arrived. They maintained a good distance within themselves which proved beneficial for Leon. He immediately took his bow out and held his sword in the other hand.

The first goblin soon arrived near the designated location. Leon had climbed up a tree to get a better vantage point while attacking the enemy. When the goblin finally arrived at the foot of the tree, he immediately jumped on them, killing the goblin with a vertical stab directly through his head.

The sword was incredibly sharp and immediately penetrated the goblin's skull. Once he managed to get the kill, Leon, stored the goblin's weapons in his inventory and took his arrow out. He then stabbed his arrow through the hole which had exited within the goblins' skull until they were completely covered with blood.

He then threw the body away and began to run. The remaining goblins will soon be arriving at the place and follow his trails due to the blood scenes. He decided to use this to his advantage.

Leon began to randomly shoot his arrow in a different direction while running. The arrows were laced with blood and hence the scent began to spread around. He managed to empty his whole scabbard and fired the last two arrows in the forward direction.

Leon then took the path on the outskirts towards the previous location. The goblins must have arrived by now. His estimation was correct as goblins were swarming here in huge numbers. he could see multiple goblins at the location of the corpse and many were following the trails.

Thus began the solo hunt. The enemy was being isolated by the blood trails as they had to divide within the group to follow it. Leon began to hunt them one by one. Every time he would hunt a single monster, he would spread their blood all around the location and even used his basic weapon set to leave false trails.

The number on the bar slowly began to rise.

1/10, 2/10, 3/10........7/10.

No more goblins were visible on the ground level. The remaining enemies were all high up in the trees. He decided to bid for time and observe the situation. Sure enough, the enemy was losing patience and small movements were visible. Leon climbed on the nearest trees and began hunting the archers.

After killing the 9th one, Leon made a slight mistake of revealing his position which led to the last goblin attacking him. His reaction speed had increased and he managed to dodge any fatal spots but was hit in the thigh.

Leon decided to confront the enemy directly. He took the goblin's bow out which he had recently acquired and began to fire at his enemies. A frontal confrontation occurred, with Leon finally emerging victorious. He stood amid a pile of corpses on the ground and soaked in goblin blood.

"10/10, Mission complete. The first floor has been cleared.

The Hunting Mission-1 was successful. The reward is being provided.

Rewards granted: Keys to the second floor, 1000exp, Novice weapons set granted in the inventory."

"Strength: 30, Endurance:28, Agility: 26, Mana:11, Wisdom:10, Luck:10."

"Mana reached level 10, awakening initiated." A message popped up once again.

"What does awakening mean?"

"Mana is the basic requirement for the host to become a mage. You need to have a great amount of mana in your system to perform spells and magic attacks. But the basic requirement to even start training in magic is to have a minimum amount of mana. "

"Mana: 10 is the minimum requirement for you to become qualified as a potential magic-user. The awakening message is to notify the host that he will be able to start using mana soon. A new system for mana training will simultaneously begin."

The awakening process started, and Leon felt a new kind of feeling revolving around his body. It was as if a sleeping power had suddenly awakened and rapidly flowing through Leon's veins, bones, and whole-body structure. He could feel an ethereal feeling encompassing his body. It felt much lighter and stronger than before.

It was as if closed pores had opened up on his skin and he could breathe much better than before. Leon felt lightheaded for some time before the situation finally settled.

"Mana awakening complete. The host can start his mana usage and training." The dashboard was changed and an additional tab appeared on the menu button. It was called an attribute.

"Click on the attribute option." Leon followed his instructions and found that it was completely blank except for a single tab.

"Mana." Leon clicked on it and the screen changed once again. Many tabs appeared, but most of them were locked. Only two were accessible.

"Training" and "Missions."

"The training refers to various practice sessions which will be simulated with the help of the system. The resources required for the training have been mentioned and provided within that bar. The Missions option refers to a specific attribute mission which will also be visible on the main mission tab. This is an option to help you manage it better."

Another message popped up before Leon could say anything.

"Special Rewards granted: Goblin hides- A special suit which could help the host to camouflage as a goblin.

Type: Defensive and camouflage treasure.

Attributes: Defense +4., weight+2.

Level: Novice."

A special treasure has been awarded to Leon after the mission completion. He was excited to see what he had gained this time.
