The positions of the martial arts were designed to improve the muscle density and control. The instruction behind the very first step was to widen your feet, bend your knees and raise your hands.

Once the position was taken, Leon had to hold it for a prolonged time. This exercises was designed to improve muscle strength in the arms, legs, hips and thighs while also improving the muscle flexibility and endurance.

Leon assumed the position yet failed to keep at it for an hour. He rested and then assumed the position once again. This time he was able to assume it for a little longer before falling down all exhausted once again.

Leon's muscle were sore and he had rest before trying it out again. Leon couldn't understand why a set of moves were so difficult to not only execute but also immensely painful on his muscles.
