Chapter 2

#2) Peaceful Life Continues

The school was relatively peaceful as the days went on. Sakura eventually grew attached to Vanitas as well, who was constantly looking out for her if seaweed brain was close by. Vanitas was sleeping in class until the teacher struck him on the head with a ruler leaving a bump.

"Ow! What was that for you tiger?"

Taiga looked at him with incredible fury as his head rested back onto the desk. Emiya looked at her with frightened eyes as the ruler came down with incredible force, force deserving of the Fuyuki Tiger.

Everyone who truly knew Vanitas would know, it was almost impossible to hit him once he got started. The ruler struck many times trying to find its target yet each time it struck and empty spot and the target was a few centimetres somewhere else.

The bell rung as Vanitas didn't dodge. Taiga grinned as the ruler came straight down with even more force only for Vanitas to pull his head up and shout "Lunch time!" the ruler missed its mark as Vanitas bolted out of the door.

The whole class giggled as they were used to his antics. The chains of his book rattled as Emiya took notice of it. "Hey Nightstray-san?" Vanitas turned around and stared at him "For the last time please call me Vanitas. So what question did you have?" Emiya nodded as he pointed at the book hanging around Vanita's hip attached with a chain.

"Oh this is a diary belonging to my ancestors kept in pristine condition."

Emiya had his curiosity satisfied as he left Vanitas to his food. All of a sudden a group of girls and boys surrounded him on all sides. "Vanitas-san! Please give us a taste of your divine food!" The crowd left as Vanitas was left with an empty lunchbox and ruffled up clothes. He broke out of his trance as he went up towards the roof to eat his second emergency lunchbox.

He sighed as he quickly looked right and left before consuming his food in safety.

Rin remembered her father talking about someone named Vanitas. Someone who traveled around the numerous parallel worlds and here was someone named Vanitas and he was in her school. She truly did not know if he was the one her father talked about. There was absolutely no trace of prana from him. She naturally dismissed it as she headed off to who knows where.

The next morning the Ayako found a sleeping Vanitas inside the archery club. How he got in? She won't be bothered to even ask. She shook her hands as a warm up before letting the slap fall only for her to grunt in pain. The bastard had dodged in his sleep. A eye slowly blinked into view as the blue light from his eyes adjusted to the light. "Hmm, so this method works then."

Ayako looked at him "What do you mean Vanitas?" Vanitas looked at her "I figured that I should put a tiny bit of effort in, and I can't get up early so why not sleep here instead so someone can wake me up in the morning?" She thought for a bit "That's actually smart but you shouldn't do that you know?" Vanitas shrugged it off as he yawned before sitting up from the bench.

Rin Tohsaka soon entered and saw Vanitas with droopy eyes. "Good morning Tohsaka." Rin nodded as soon another person entered it was Sakura.

"Good morning captain."

"Good morning senpai."

She bowed as Vanitas smiled and waved. A blush appeared on her cheeks as Vanitas giggled.

"Nice ribbon but mines better."

Everyone noticed but never questioned it as it paired well with his usual attire. Sakura smiled before going to change. Ayako stared at him "Go do some practice." Vanitas replied "No." She looked at him and chucked him a bow and a few arrows. "Go." Vanitas stayed there and sat up properly before aiming at the target.

Ayako scoffed until all 4 arrows were in the bullseye mark. "See I made a square." He shrugged his shoulders as he put the bow away gently and ran off through the door before backtracking and patting Sakura on the head and dashing through the door. "See ya!"

He ran quickly towards the school entrance as he wanted to make it to the class before anyone. He met a certain seaweed brain who seemed to be terrorising Tohsaka. Shinji growled at her "How dare you-" An arm wrapped itself around Shinji as he looked to see Vanitas who whispered in his ears.

"I'm giving you some life advice right now. Don't piss of girls especially ones that are quite strange in the head. They'll make your life hell. Tohsaka? She's not crazy but she's not exactly right in the head either." With a slap on the back he left Shinji to think about his words as he dashed through the halls and up the stairs to the classroom.

Taiga was furious in the morning when she saw what was drawn on the board. There it was a detailed drawing of a tiger, until it came to the head where it was replaced with a badly drawn face of her. The drawing was labeled "Tiger of Fuyuki, ROAR!"

"Who did this!"

Everyone subconsciously glanced at Vanitas who woke up after sensing someone in front of his seat. The ruler came smashing down only to find its target missing and leaning back on the chair yawning "Good morning miss Fujimura." A vein rose on her head "Don't Ms me!" Another whack as he leaned his body slightly to the right and picked up his dropped coin.

"Another day begins."
