She-wolf

Walking around the opulent over decorated and jeweled out place of the foe, Michael carried slight bags under his eyes not being able to stop thinking of last night. Last night, he had finally met his mate. Unfortunately it was not the person he expected. Hell not even anticipated. He had already settled with himself, his mate was a vampire. His most hated enemy. Though not real but suspicion were confirmed by the First herself. However never in a thousand years would he expect it to have been the Princess of Vampires Brianna. His heart raced by the mention of her name. The memories flood back in of the way she looked, her posture, her grace, her coldness. How she felt in his arms as they danced. Her wit as they vocally playfully sparred.

" Stop, Stop that." Michael thought to himself as he walked forward.

But for that one moment everything, everyone faded into oblivion leaving the two of them, two dancing stars in the center of the universe. He couldn't lie it, he never felt more alive. More in love. Shit. Screw him for feeling such a way. His face contorted that his emotion got the best of him, frolicking around her like an idiot while the entire room watched. Including his father. Hopefully, he wouldn't question his actions, but knowing his father's domineering will he probably would. Turning the corner his thoughts turned reality. His father's sky blue eyes staring back at him. Hands crossed behind him with his presence crushing his own. Shit.

" Father- Your Majesty." Michael addressed first, even feeling a tingling sensation addressing him as father. Michael had never been close to his father, nor his father to him. To be honest his father never tried. Just asking him to be the proper heir to his throne was his duty. He was his least favorite he could tell, but once upon a time things were not as bad. When his younger brother still lived things weren't different, but Michael never felt so underrated as he did now.

King Zephyr stood with eyes piercing his supposed perfect prodigy face. Looking for a sigh of mere intimidation as the same ocean eyes stared back. Good.

Zephyr gave a tight smile as he spoke without compassion, " Michael. I need to speak with you. Come with me." He quickly turned around walking the opposite direction.

Had he found out? No, but he would interrogate the hell out of him. Michael followed trailing carefully behind putting some distance. Feeling like a tiny insignificant pup, worse than an omega. Just how he was trained. They walked what seemed a short distance stopping at an almost abandoned corridor next to the garden. It was almost abandoned as a familiar redhead stood arms crossed impatiently waiting as her gaze met his litting up like a disco ball, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear. Aurora. He blinked, not apprehending her reason for being here.

" Your majesty!" Aurora exclaimed as she did a curty and lifted her head again, " Your highness, Prince Michael."

" That was a nice show that you put up yesterday with the Princess, being gracious and formal. A bit overly friendly but we have to show them, you are no weakling. I suggest we announce your engagement to Aurora." Michael pressed his brows together. What now? A marriage to Aurora? The person he had no interest in beyond mutual respect. This must have been her idea as he scanned her face with flashing eyes and jubilant smile.

As Michael opened his mouth to speak his father shut him down, " I know that it is sudden but it is best to show them, our heir is prepared to carry on the throne unlike their beloved unwedded princess who seems nothing prepared to be a Queen. However, I believe that we have found the perfect Queen." His father turned to Aurora with a faint smile as he placed a hand on her shoulder. Seeming both arranged manners without his knowing.

Michael stood with his pockets in his hands staring at both of them quizzically. Was his say unimportant in his own marriage? Of course, probably to his majesty but he would not marry Aurora because he did not love her, nor should he be forced too. He still had his mate, regardless of her cursed breed could he have a chance to decide for himself? Still, he didn't want to upset his father. Not here Not now. " Your Majesty, I believe we should postpone the announcement. It is the celebration of their Princess, we wouldn't want to risk upsetting their Majesties of the Vampire Clan." Michael stated a false premise to attempt any way to stop the announcement.

" Still considerate of the enemy." Zephyr hissed with a vein popping out of his neck, Michael stood firm staring back at those same stony eyes he took after. Challenging his authority. Both Michael and his father were alphas. Determined, authoritative ,stubborn, prideful, and defensive of their own opinions. And this was something he was not going to cave in, no matter if his father humiliated or abused him. He closed his eyes, settling the burning impulse to snap his son's neck. It would only make an utter fool of their kingdom. " No more. Aurora and you have plenty to discuss." Zephyr added as he turned to Aurora wearing a fake smile as he parted walking past Michael.

Michael side-eyed him thinking, "Of course, he thinks it's another disappointment of mine. Like always, nothing I ever do is good enough isn't it? Just when could you just accept me for who I am instead of who you want me to be?" Soon interrupted by a hand placed on his forehead as his gaze met Aurora's onyx ones. Glimmering with hope and mischief. If his father was a problem, Aurora was going to be another. She was delusional, he could not love her in the way she wanted him to. He would have to rectify the situation before any rumors began to spread.

" Aurora, you know how his Majesty can be." Michael began as Aurora cocked her head. If she ever had the opportunity to intrigue or prove to Michael how perfect she was to be his mate, his wife, his Queen. It would be now. She would have to show him why no other woman could compare. How it was her, no their destiny to rule together.

Aurora put on her persona, wearing a coy smile while fluttering her lashes . She was the most beautiful irresistible female wolf unlike the omega females who no male sought after. She had multiple offers, of course rejecting each unworthy of her.The strongest. The one with the most power physically and over others. She was the she-wolf that deserved to stand by his side. " Well, I believe his Majesty is right. He knows what is best for the kingdom. I would love to serve as it queen alongside you as King." Perfect. Her words were eloquent, sharp, intuitive, and assertive. Without a doubt, he could deny.

Michael kneaded his face unwanting to play around," No. Aurora, I don't love you, so I wouldn't want to hurt you by marrying you." Michael confessed no longer wanting to delay the bitter harsh truth as Aurora gave a r ictus grin allowing that reality to slip past her. No. No. She would just have to conceive him.

" How would you hurt me? It's a marriage, people learn to love one another."

Michael shook his head as his eyes eased," It would be a loveless marriage. My heart belongs to another. And you deserve someone who loves you just as much." This was true. She knew it was true. He has a mate. She has a mate. But none of it would matter all she need to do was make Michael see they were perfect for one another.

"I will not look like a fool." She thought.

Aurora stared at him. The man she had loved- she loved for over a hundred and eighty years was rejecting her. No. No. No way. Not in this life, nor heaven, nor hell would she allow that. " That doesn't matter. I want to be with you. Screw the damn mates. Are you honestly going to allow some mark to determine who you fall in love with?" She said with irritation wanting to scream but was held back by her pride.

Michael sighed running his hand through his hair, " I understand it sounds bizarre. Stupid even, to listen something so infinitesimal to tell you who to love-"

She interrupted him with firm persistence, " Exactly so why listen to it! Why not make your own destiny?" Why? Why let that thing come in between them? The could be the most powerful and fearsome leaders, Queen and King of The Wolves that history has ever seen.

Michael sympathized," I can understand. We should be able to make our own destiny. Pave our own paths, however they are somethings in life no matter how hard you try to change, bend, break it will always just be. We have the right to make our own life, but there are times when life will give us the choice it made. "

" So what are you saying?" Aurora questioned clenching her fist her onyx eyes sparkling to attempt to mystify Michael with them.

" I'm saying that we should not get marry. We both deserve happiness that our mates can offer us. Without input of our parents."

" I'm not doing this because of our parents. I'm doing this because I love you, and I want to be with you, regardless of that. Can you see that I will love you and only you. Why can you just do the same!" Aurora accidentally spoke louder than intended as a clanking of metal was heard against the flooring. Looking past Michael's shoulder while he turned around seeing turquoise hair sun kissed female with widened eyes seeming to hear what she had just confessed or rather her rejection.

Suddenly Aurora dotting self disappeared as a sneered appeared showing her predatory instincts to kill this scum right here, right now." It's rude to overhear."

The fell dropped to the floor obtaining her items. Her eyes not meeting her just focusing anywhere but." I'm so... so- sorry, I was just walking to the Princess room. My luggage was really heavy. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, Your Highness, and Miss."

" Its your Grace." Aurora hissed with the lethal gray ring around her eyes glimmering, " It's your Grace, I am the daughter of a war lord. If you vampires can understand that, then you're simply brainless."

" I'm sorry your Grace." The blue hair female appeared on the verge of tears, " Though I am not a vampire, I beg your forgiveness for overseeing your royal status." She muttered looking at the ground. Crap. How did she get herself in this situation? She was just taking a short cut to her best friends room. Planning a surprise.

Michael eyes whipped back to Aurora's face. Her gaze broke upon the insolent wrench as she met his. Filled with shock and a bit of dismay. Pondering what she would do next. She couldn't let Michael see her like this. Around him she had to ideal woman to not only conquer his heart, not people as well. She shifted her gaze back over to the female letting out a sigh, " If you're not a vampire, then what are you?"

The female hesitated as she let out in a quiet voice, " A mermaid."

Thankfully to her supernatural hearing she was able to decipher what the woman stated, " A mermaid. What would a mermaid be doing here?" Aurora asked crossing her arms. Besides being a guest at the old witches celebration, mermaids didn't exactly like the vampires, nor anyone for that matter.

" I am the lady -in-waiting of her Highness Brianna." She informed her position. Her lady that was not only her future Queen, but also her best friend.

Michael looked at the younger girl. This was her other lady-in-waiting. Her first lady in waiting was firm, poised. The one in front of him was more child like, quiet . Making the princess the mediator. The corner of his lips lifted as it reminded him of his brotherhood with his men.

"Her Highness Brianna." Aurora pondered. So this sold out worked for the entitled bitch. Discarding her just like her superior. Did people not know how powerful her father was? How she could rip their heads off in an instant. " While maybe her highness should instruct you how greet people correctly, huh?"

The blue hair girl shook her head repeatedly, " No. No. My lady has nothing to do with this. It was my fault. I accept full responsibility." There was no way she was allow the woman standing in front of her taint Brianna's good name. If anything being a stranger in foreigner land she should have known better.

Aurora cocked her head scanning the girl. How she did get her hand on this one? More over the dying loyalty. Mermaids were schemish with who they joined arms with. Yet this one going so far as to defend her ladies name. How amusing.

" It's alright." Michael baritone voice pierce the air. " There is no need to get upset over an accident. Forgive us. We don't want to insult her highness Brianna. Nor you." Diffusing the misunderstanding. Not only for both kingdom's sake but honestly not wanting bad blood with her friends before attempting courting her. If he would get the chance. Or bring himself to do so.

"Wow. Did the Prince of Wolves just say he didn't want any animosity for Brianna's sake. He's different. I just feel it." She wondered as a playful smile appeared surprising both of the wolves.

Standing up gathering her things she replied, " No worries. There is nothing to be forgiven your highness. Now if you will excuse me." She did a quick curtsy walking pass by them quicker than a shark. Avoiding any contact or gazing Aurora as Aurora eyes followed her until she disappeared. Finally, she could get back onto the plan.

" Anyways since she is gone-." Michael interrupted her.

" Aurora, I'm sorry but my answer is still no." He gave his final state as he took one last look at her dejected face as he passed by her.

She stood there alone, as she watched his shadowy figure draw further and further away. He always seemed to close, yet wondering far and far. Her head spinning. Heated from all the words that were interchanged, and on top the humiliation of the bitches' servant attesting witness to it worsened her mood. His rejection would be temporary. Once she showed him what he was losing out on he would throw away his mate, and come running back to her. Regardless of his answer she would not give up. Not now. Not ever. Until she had him.
