Intuitions

"Bro, what do you mean? Aren't you happy that your sister has a friend now?" Dave asked while munching on his burger. "And why does is my food taking so long?" he mumbled while looking at Nathan and Ridger's food. He seemed so hungry.

"Bro, you asked for your food to be heated again. Why are you complaining?" Nathan said. "You're even eating a burger. So unhealthy," he added while shaking his head.

Ridger just sighed not because of them but because he's still bothered by the new student.

"But seriously Ridger, Dave is right. Why are you so bothered?" Nathan asked and ate a spoonful of rice. "Isn't it nice that she isn't alone now?"

RIdger rest his back on the backrest of his chair and stared at his own food while crossing his arm. "I do think having friends is nice. It's just weird that she's suddenly so close to a stranger she just met," he responded and took a sip of lemonade.

"Well, we were strangers before too," Dave stated.

"We were literally kids then Dave," Ridger replied. "It's just that, it doesn't feel right. Lianey doesn't like being around people. So what makes that girl different?"

"You are probably just curious about the girl dude," Nathan said while eating his chicken. Meanwhile, Dave's meal is finally served.

"Finally! My food!" he excitedly said and immediately grabbed his cutlery.

"I might just be overreacting because this is new to me," Ridger whispered but it's enough for Nathan to hear.

"Or you may not. I'd say you have good intuition. If you are really worried, why don't you go and find out? Maybe you'll find something that would surprise you. You have all the privilege to do so after all," Nathan suggested and drink his water.

Ridger nodded as his face become serious. Nathan is right. His intuition barely fail him. Besides, there is nothing wrong if he'd try to investigate a little, right?

At the same time, Nathan doesn't believe that the new girl is something to be worried about. He only wants to entertain his pal. And he believed that this is a good chance for Ridger to find himself a girl. What a cunning young man.

"Are you gonna eat this?" Dave as while pointing to Ridger's meal with his pork.

Ridger slapped his hands and looked at him sternly. "Buy more if you're still hungry."

"Hmp, I just don't like seeing food wasted," Dave replied.

"Here, eat this," Nathan gave him his leftover chicken.

"Bro that's just a bone," he snorted and rolled his eyes. "Oh yeah, just buy me another one because you said you're going to pay for my meal," he added while his eyes were shining with happiness.

"Hmp, fine."

Dave jumped in happiness and went to the counter to take another order. Since they are not eating in the main cafeteria, they have to order on their own since it's self-service. Dave's order was served earlier because he asked for it to be heated again.

"Man… he eats so much but never hit the gym. I'm worried for his health," Nathan mumbled while shaking his head.

Meanwhile, RIdger suddenly stood up after finishing his meal. "Where are you going, bro?" Nathan asked in confusion.

"You guys take your time. I have to go to head to the council," Ridger answered while wiping his mouth with a tissue.

"Oh… Alright," Nathan replied even though he doesn't believe him.

"I'll meet you at the hideout later," Rigder said and left.

Nathan on the other hand smirked as he watch him leave. "I wonder how things will turn out…"

At the same time, Lianey and Maxene's food just got served with their favorite dishes.

"Wow, they really cooked it the way we asked," Maxene uttered while looking at their luscious meal. It's her favorite sisig with poached egg at the top and a vegetable salad.

"I know right," Lianey proudly said while beaming at her.

"But you call this a cheap place? Lian… the student meal's cheapest price is literally two hundred pesos."

"That's the cheapest meal you can eat here though… the food from the others is more pricey," she explained while happily chopping her stake.

Well, the canteen looks luxurious itself. It has this boho interior design that is really cozy and it's fully air-conditioned too. What makes it perfect is the mountain and garden view from the outside that you can see from the transparent glass wall.

"I can tell why…" Maxene said while appreciating the view from the outside.

"If you'd see the main cafeteria, you'd be in awe," Lianey stated while chuckling.

"Let me guess. It's like a five-star restaurant?"

"Exactly! But it's always crowded."

"Kinda weird because outside, the school seems humble and classic," Maxene said and sipped her coffee.

"That's what most people are," Lianey responded and started eating her food which made Maxene nod.

While they were enjoying their meal, Maxene took the chance to squeeze some information from her. She wouldn't waste the opportunity.

"So… Lian, tell me more about this Rosie."

Lianey looked at her and chuckle. "Oh, right. This is perfect. No one is here other than us." That's true. Only the two of them were eating there.

"Why? Does everyone here knows here?" she asked innocently.

"Yeah! Literally, everyone does. Her family owns a big construction firm. The architects and engineers of this University Royale came from them," Lianey casually stated.

"That's it? That's the only reason?"

"Nah, she's also good-looking, smart, and ahm… a teacher's pet. Since participates in extracurricular activities that boost her social connection such as the University Collegiate Student Council or the UCSC. I think she'll be running in this school year's election as the VP," Lianey said nonchalantly in between eating her stake.

"VP? But she's just a sophomore, isn't she?" Maxene was really astounded to hear that although she knew that Rosie was going to run in this school year's election because she was a first-year representative last year since she did her background research.

"It's not like it's impossible. She's well-known. And everyone thinks she'll win again," Lianey said and shrugged her shoulder.

"You don't seem in favor of her," Maxene responded.

"I don't wanna say this but I don't think I will ever be," Lianey replied frankly.

"Why?"

Lianey sighed before saying: "Didn't you say that she invited you earlier to her house party? She did that to me too," she answered. "And I rejected her offer as well. There is something about her that I don't like. Maybe her aura? I don't know and you'd probably disagree with me and think I am overthinking things. But you know, I feel like she's the reason why my brother and his ex broke up."

"He had a girlfriend?" Maxened acted surprised when she actually didn't care. She really doesn't feel comfortable acting this way though. Just thinking about how long she'll have to bare this just to get close to Lianey makes her feel sick.

"Uhm yeah, but that was a long time ago. During high school," Lianey replied.

"Oh, so you know each other since high school."

"Nope! Actually, I was from a different school from elementary to high school. I just transferred here. But yeah, my brother and that girl knew each other since high school. She never left this university 'cause she likes my brother–" Lianey immediately shut her mouth when she realized what information she was disclosing.

"Oops, forget that."

"Why?" Maxene asked and chuckled.

"Because I wasn't really sure if she does. My brother would get mad at me if he heard me say that. He would always tell me to not say anything unless I have concrete evidence otherwise it's just a baseless accusation," she explained and went back to eating again.

Maxene nodded and took a spoon of rice and veggies. "You're brother is right but he probably does the same thing," Maxene uttered and sipped her coffee.

"Hmm, you're right. I bet he did the same thing with his friends."

Both of them continued eating but Maxene's mind was not on the food but on the info she just learned. She confirmed that her research was correct. But what caught her interest was the news about Rosie running for VP. And with that, an idea popped into her head causing her to slightly grin.

"Rosalia Anderson… Vice president of the Student Council. That doesn't seem right to me. I have something better," she pondered and chuckled at her thought as she finally put the pieces of her plan together.
