Chapter 10 New World Middle School

Ben received two text messages on his smartwatch. He opened them

'Ben Chase is being invited to New World Middle School, School instructions for late joiners would be sent '.

"Whoo-hoo! I can go to school now", shouted Ben in joy and looked around to see faces staring at him.

"Oops! got to get home fast ", thought Ben looking around to see the commotion he caused and started running home.

He ran without stopping and noticed that he was not tired, he felt like he could run around for days.

He reached home and went out to the lab to meet his grandparents and Ricky.

"Hello! Ben", said Ruff, Ricky's grandpa.

"Hello! Grandpa Ruff, where is Ricky?", asked Ben.

"I am here Ben", said Ricky and got out of the lab and was about to say something but Ben got ahead.

"Ricky, I got an invite from New World Middle School, now we can go to school together", said Ben in joy.

Ricky and grandpa Ruff felt happy." Ben, It was Ruff who helped you get in NWMS", said grandpa Tim coming out of the lab along with grandma Jessie.

"Thank you, Grandpa Ruff", said Ben and looked at grandpa Tim wanting to say something. But the look on Grandpa Tim's face told it was not the right time to speak about it.

They gathered around and talked for some time. Grandpa Ruff started to explain the flaw in his cyborg mechanism as it was the old model built by Daniel and how grandpa Tim and grandma Jessie helped him and have been looking out for him till now. Grandpa Ruff told that he knew about Mark, but he couldn't help him as he feared that his family would also be treated as traitors.

They talked for a long time and then Ricky and his grandpa decided to leave.

Grandpa Tim called Ben into his lab and told him to speak. Ben stood there and looked at the lab, even though he had been here recently, this was the first time he was looking at the surroundings in the lab. The ceiling was very high and the lab was filled with so many types of machines.

"Tell me about all these machines grandpa ", told Ben his eyes gleaming with curiosity.

Grandpa Tim explained about most of the machines but he told he didn't know the uses of some machines as they were old and that they were his father's and the lab also belonged to him.

"Ben, the workshop in our house is what I created, but this lab belonged to your great grandpa and he spent most of his time here researching and helping people with troubles in their bodies", said Tim.

"Grandpa Tim, the system has given me a daily mission and I must complete it otherwise it says my heart will stop," said Ben nervously.

"What?", exclaimed Tim shocked at what he heard. "What are the tasks ", asked Tim nervously thinking "what if I can't help my grandson would he die".

"There was 4 tasks grandpa, I have completed two tasks, the other two tasks is to lift a weight of 20 kg 20 times and take 10 pushups 10 times," said Ben and told him that he couldn't find a way to complete the task of lifting 20kg of weight.

"Only this, you gave me a heart attack when you said you would die", said Tim with an anxious face. "Follow me Ben ", said Tim and went out of the lab.
