A distant voice echoed in the gigantic cavern as they sat on the platform floating in its place. "What happens now?" Lady Luna whispered. Aether shrugged, there wasn't much to do but wait. He sat on the ground cross legged and watched the distant movements.
"I thought you said it's safe." Lady Luna spoke again. She took care to keep her voice low.
"Oh." Aether chuckled. "I lied – I wasn't expecting you to come along." He made a vague gesture encompassing their surroundings. "Did you really think a place like this can be safe?" A wicked smile formed on his lips. He felt a little bad for deceiving her, but she had invited herself. As far as he was concerned, it wasn't on him that she didn't like the idea of danger.
"You little-" Lady Luna hissed, but a distant crushing sound stopped her. "What was that?" She whispered, her gaze leaping from one side to the other, trying to locate the source of the sound.
