Freya gasped for air as she reached the surface of the lake. He pulled herself onto the rocky shore and coughed up some water that had filled her lungs.
Her heart was still racing, and her chest hurt. Her lungs burned with each breath as she panted.
"Where are we?" She asked, her voice but a whisper.
Fen was sitting right next to her, though he was much calmer. "I don't know." He whispered. "I didn't know the lake was connected to a river."
Freya nodded. She forced herself to remember the events after the explosion. She and Fen had been thrown into the lake, and a strong current had dragged them underwater. Next thing she remembered was drifting in the water, trying to breathe.
"An underwater tunnel, I think." Fen clarified. "We might not even be in the same cavern anymore." His words prompted her to look around for the first time since she crawled out of the water.
