They rushed through the narrow, dimly lit hallways, passing by soldiers and noblemen alike. As much as people shot them awkward glances, Iris' presence quickly turned them pale as they moved out of her way. Some bowed as she passed, while others saluted her.
Iris' lips were shut tight through the whole way, up until they stopped by a large, wooden set of doors.
Iris pushed the doors open without a moment of hesitation and stepped inside.
"Come on," she invited them inside with a relieved expression. Erika was a bit hesitant as they stepped inside.
It was a rather simple, but beautifully decorated room. There was a bed hidden behind a divider, a desk, and a chair, as well as two sofas neatly arranged by a low coffee table. White curtains decorated the walls and covered the windows.
The sound of the door closing behind her startled Erika.
