Only a short while later, a loud knock on his door sounded. Aether sighed, shot a reassuring look towards the startled Fen, then approached the door and opened it.
"Uria," He said with a faint smile. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
The commander of the troops stood at the top of the stairs, her hands on her hips, and a sour expression on her face.
"The Lord summons you." She dryly said. "And has requested the presence of your friend as well."
Aether's smile shattered. "Why?" He hissed, as his heart skipped a beat. What could the Lord possibly want from Fen?
"Do you really expect me to know?" Uria asked. "Hurry up, I'll be waiting downstairs." She turned her back on him and walked down the stairs. The stomping of her armoured boots echoed in the otherwise silent staircase.
Aether remained frozen in place. Why would he want Fen to be there? The young man had nothing to do with anything!
