Only after taking a few more steps did she realise who she had just walked past. Her eyes widened, she turned around and ran straight back to that corner and looked around. The black robed tall man was nowhere to be seen.
Ingrid hesitated. She massaged her temples as she glanced around. Had she just hallucinated? No, no way. She refused to entertain that possibility in her thoughts. Once she began to doubt her own eyes, her own five senses, she would begin to doubt everything. She couldn't take that risk right now.
She hesitated only for a short moment as she reviewed her options. Once she had decided, she set off to the stairs leading to her grandfather's office. His assistant would surely be there, the newly appointed one. It was a middle aged man who seemed like a perfectly average person. Ingrid had gone easy on him whenever he refused to let her meet with her grandfather, but no more.
