The story

Daniel was speechless. He didn't know what he was expecting. What creeped him was Igor's glowing grey eyes. This senses tinkled. He instantly knew the boy wasn't normal. Daniel took a step back. He wasn't sure how to react. He knew there was something strange going on with his family. That's how he ended up in the boarding school anyway...

"Don't worry, I'm trying to help you" the boy said calmly with a smile. Almost as if he knew how Daniel would react. It seems as if Igor has done things like this before. Daniel went and sat next to him. There was a long silence between them. "Who are you?" Daniel finally asked. Igor turned and looked into his brown eyes. "My name is Igor, but that's the only truth about me, mind you" he said. " I am from a school, but not an ordinary school. It's a school for elemental heroes, we find heroes"

"There are 20 elemental powers every hero possesses. They all come from the first ever hero who possessed that power. But only 9 of those hero's passed down their powers to their sons/daughters. Every generation of heroes choose whether they want to pass down that power. But possessing the elemental power means great risk. You will never live a normal life. Once you're a hero, you will always be a hero...

Daniel could only listen in awe as Igor explained everything. He nodded a few times to the exciting parts. And when Igor finished, Daniel wanted to ask a million questions. But he simply asked "What is your elemental power?" Igor just stared ahead into empty darkness. Then he finally broke the silence by saying " I possess the elemental power of metal Manipulation and the founder of the elemental power is Metallica. It's the newest of the elements" Daniel finally understood why he had the symbol on his forehead and on his chain. "When the soul of the first hero accepts that your a hero of that elemental power, there is a light corresponding with that power."

He asked another question, " Why did 9 pass down their powers and not the others?" Daniel was confused by this. Didn't they need all the powers to protect the world? " Because the other powers are known as the Supreme elements. If any of them were to get passed down, they would destroy the world. They contain too much power."

"One more question" Daniel asked. He stood up. Then he smiled, "Why is there only nine elements that were passed down? Ten sounds like a more rounded number." At that, Igor stood up. His eyes were wide and he started to breathe heavily. They both saw a light coming from upstairs. Igor started to leave. but Daniel asked one more question. "What's my elemental power?" he said suddenly. "I'm not sure, I only know your a hero, and by the way, we leave for the Elemental Heroes Academy tomorrow, and don't worry about the school, or your parents. We got it covered."

"And now it's up to you," he asks, "Do you want to join the Elemental Heros Academy and train to be a hero?" All the memories he had in the school flooded through him. He will probably never see his best friends, Arthur and Calvin again.

Daniel knew this might be a mistake. He was about to go to some random school. And what about his family. But that thought made him angry. He looked into Igor's eyes. but he felt as if he was doing the right thing. And talking about heroes made him jolt in excitement.
