Mysterious Visitors
Daniel told everyone about his vision. But not all of it. He told them about the shadow path, and the long journey they have to make in order to reach the place of the Lord of Destruction.
He left out the part of the Lord of Destruction talking to him and the dangers that will be on the path. "How long is the shadow path?" Harold asked. "I'm not sure..."
Daniel saw Igor escape into the woods a few seconds after the group meeting. He wondered where on earth he was going. Daniel left the others and followed him. He was sitting near a small river.
Daniel joined him. Igor looked at him. "When we first met, just the two of us right?" Daniel said. Igor nodded. He had a concerned expression on his face. "Don't worry, we'll make it, and nobody is going to..." Igor left him without saying a word. But Daniel heard something as he turned and left. "I'm sorry" was what Daniel heard. 'What is he sorry about?' thought Daniel to himself.
Daniel decided to leave him alone and went back to their camp.
"So we have to follow the shadow path?" asked Alicia, playing with her hair. "I don't know" Daniel said. "The man in the vision could be simply lying to us" inquired Bonnie. "He could be working for the Destruction Lord and trying to lead us into a trap" she said. "Maybe" said Harold. But Daniel didn't think so. It was as if the Lord of destruction had wanted the heroes to find him.
"Maybe we shouldn't be trying to find the shadow path right now, maybe we need to prepare." suggested Daniel. "Daniel's right, we are still children compared to the Lord of Destruction." Catherine said. "Do any of you know the name of the legendary hero who returned the Destruction Lord into the depth of the ground?" she asked. Everyone nodded. Everyone knew. They were supposed to know. But Daniel didn't.
"Jason was his name, he was a hero like you and me" Catherine started pointing at the other heroes then to herself. "The Gorstone, still unchanged, picked him as the hero to go on a perilous Quest. Nobody at the time thought he was going to be a big threat... until the Darklings attacked. The Darklings are little creatures that were unnaturally made by the Lord of Destruction. Their soul purpose it to do the Destruction Lord's bidding" Catherine finished.
The heroes stayed silent for a while. Even though the other nine heroes heard the story before, it still made them shiver. The Lord of Destruction is awaking and is going to rise... The story made the heroes want to work even harder to reach the end of their Quest. They started to practice with their new weapons. Dennis was working so hard, everyone could hear his heavy breathing. Klara and Alicia were practicing combining their powers to make attacks more powerful
Daniel was impressed. Bonnie was running even faster than before, running around a tree as fast as she could. She even managed to steal Edger's nunchucks. The look on his face when he realised he had 'lost it' He was mad at her for playing a trick on him.
Daniel noticed a man and a woman coming their way, down the path. He went into the forest. "Guys..." Daniel said. The rest of them had seen them as well. "Be careful" Myra whispered, taking out her stone. It transformed instantly just by Myra thinking about it. Everyone else got out their stones just in case.
Suddenly, the man jumped out of the bushes, roaring. The heroes jumped but instanly acted. They learnt their lesson. Never trust strangers, especially when your a hero. The weapons springed up instantly. Daniel sent a wave of darkness at the stranger knocking him back into the tree. Klara formed water covering the man's legs. Alicia acted quickly, splitting the water into two, one for each leg and the water instantly turned to solid ice. Daniel blinked, and Bonnie wrapped the man in rope. Igor made metal cuffs stopping the man, who may have powers, from using any abilities. Catherine summoned vines which coiled up the man's neck, in case he tries anything. They surrounded him in an instant weapons raised, they were alert and wary. Nobody said anything for a while until the man recovered from the surprise.
Just then, the woman from before came running towards them. "Please, don't hurt him!" she said. "We're not your enemies" Something about her voice made Daniel calm down. She didn't look like an enemy and the voice sounded familiar. The man started to groan. "I'm Mrs Katrina's sister, and this" she said, pointed at the man, "is my husband. The heroes took a step back and the woman crouched next to the groaning man. The heroes were still wary, but they weren't cruel. Dennis melted the ice and the ivy disintegrated in an instance. The metal cuffs melted on Igor's command.
Just then, Daniel heard a 'Bing' from the ES-Pad. It was a message from Mrs Katrina. 'Sorry for not using this thing, children but I just wanted to let you know that my sister is living somewhere around your camp. She is going to visit you. And how are you children doing, is everyone ok?' the message said. Daniel quickly wrote a reply and faced the two people.
"We are SO sorry" Catherine said, bowing down at the couple. The woman smiled. "It's fine, you didn't know" she said. "That was quick work everyone" she said, addressing the rest of the heroes. "My name is Janae Katrina" she said "and this is Lestrad" she continued, looking at the man beside her. He tried to smile, but there was something in his eyes that made him insecure about this meeting. Janae Katrina signed "I guess my sister didn't tell you of our visit" she said "Typical" she said, jockingly.
"But we're here for a more serious reason" Lestrad said. "Yes" Janae agreed. "There is a hero training centre not far away from here, you should come and train, if you are planning to defeat the Destruction Lord. "There is a village near it as well, but it is deserted. Unfortunately, the news of the rising of the Lord of Destruction made everyone there evacuate. Normal beings are lucky" she said "They don't know half the things that are happening in this world..." Janae said.
The couple turned around and started walking into the forest "Come with us..." they said...
