25.Little Sherry's accident

Ellen looked at the two men, her eyes full of gratitude.

" Thank you so much for saving my daughter, I have no idea how to thank you enough. I'm really sorry for the trouble. "

" It's nothing, anyone would have done that. No one can stand still and watch a little cute girl like her getting hurt. " The man who had hugged Sherry spoke, a gentle smile racing on his lips.

 " I'm sorry for causing trouble. It's my fault, I wasn't careful. "

The waiter spoke humbly, his head hanged low. He had a bright red handprint on his cheek that was obvious from a hard slap. His clothes were also soiled by the food.

Ellen looked at the fuming man at the door of the private room who seemed like a manager, and at the food scattered all over the floor.

Her eyes then moved to the man whose grey expensive custom tailored suit had been dirtied on both arms. His features were striking and he was smiling at her gently.

 ' Very handsome !! '

Ellen thought eyeing him. His dark eyes were gazing at her. His posture was light and he had an aura of a mature man which was refined. He seemed to be from a noble background.

" Let me compensate your clothes to show my gratitude then. "

Ellen looked at their clothes especially the expensive suit and felt a pinch. A painful one for that matter.

 ' Can I take back my words ... '

Although she was grateful, she hated owing people. But it was very painful to part with such a big amount of money.

" No no, miss that would be unnecessary. "

The good looking man waved in dismissal. Ellen heaved inwardly.

 'That's a relief ! '

She didn't dare to argue with them lest they agree. She was jobless ! That money was too much !

When the man waved, Ellen was quick to notice his red swollen arms. She had forgotten that he had shielded Sherry with his body thus both his arms were badly scalded.

She was stunned. He must have been in a lot of pain since the fierce red patches were already swollen, yet he was silently smiling.

She felt a little guilty and offered to give them first aid. They reluctantly agreed and they all left for the lounge.

When the man in the private room, previously unconcerned with all the ruckus that was happening heard the voice of a woman, his heart skipped a beat and it started to pound vigorously.

He clenched his chest to ease the pain that suddenly attacked him. He breathed hurriedly and sprang up from his seat running out of the room in big steps. The stunned manager was shoved aside as he ran to the door.

When he came out, he saw the view of a woman and a tall man in a white shirt getting into the elevator. That woman's back... It was too familiar for him to mistake her.

One of his hand was still on his painful chest while the other was clenched into a powerful fist.

He squinted his dark eyes coldly at the woman. Those eyes were cold and dark but they had a tinge of pain and sadness in them. A bitter and chilling smile appeared on his lips.

 ' She's back. '

The group went to the lounge and Ellen treated their wounds.

" Hou Lei, " the man in an expensive suit said.

He shivered and his whole body trembled when Ellen's soft and warm hands touched his arm .

 " Huh? "

She was startled when the man suddenly spoke. Hou Lei looked at her cute confused expression and the corner of his mouth curved up.

" My name is Hou Lei. "

Ellen realized what the man had said and gave him an ' oh. ' She noticed the man's gaze on her and was puzzled.

' What does he want now? Should I compliment his good name? '

She almost rolled her eyes but face palmed inwardly when she realized it was rude of her not introducing herself.

 " Eleanor, my name. "

Hou Lei chuckled lightly when he saw her various expressions and her flushed face.

 ' She's interesting. '
