Chapter 49

Li Business World tower

Li Zixuan was seated in his office. His features looked extremely attractive in his serious expression as he was going through some documents.

He had worn his usual expensive tailor made black suit with a white shirt. His brows slightly furrowed as he circled some parts in the document he was reading. They then eased up swiftly returning to his former aloofness.

 " Knock knock knock "

A knock at the door interrupted his train of thoughts.

 " Come in. "

He answered in a deep low voice without tearing his eyes off the file on his hands.

Assistant Tan pushed the door slowly, got inside holding some files and walked towards Li Zixuan.

" Boss, you've a lunch meeting with president Zhuang. His assistant has informed me that he's already on the way to Xiang Hotel. " Tan Liang reminded him.

Xiang Hotel was another equally luxurious hotel under the LBW company. The hotel was started by old master Li and named it after his beloved wife Luo Meixiang, the matriarch of the Li family.

It was said that old master Li had a fallout with his parents because he refused to marry a woman from a prestigious family who had been arranged to marry him by both families.

He left the family and married Luo Meixiang, a simple beautiful girl from an ordinary family.

She was a scholarship student when they were in college and she was his junior by 2 years.

Later, she worked as a small employee in the Li Company.

After leaving home, old master Li married her secretly and started his own business independently. Their love was firm and heartwarming. Eventually, his parents accepted her but old master Li continued venturing on his own in the business industry.

President Zhuang was a man in his mid fifties and the CEO of Zhuang Corporation, a multimillion company. He was seeking to make a business deal with LBW.

Assistant Tan packed the car in the Xiang Hotel basement then moved to open the door for the CEO.

Li Zixuan who had been working on his laptop paused and was about to get out when his eyes happened to lay on two silhouettes of a man and a woman embracing each other or in particular, a slender woman leaning on the man's shoulder.

He gazed at them with his eyes wide open and was very stunned that he froze mid in the air for a couple of seconds. He sat there emotionlessly his eyes displaying various kind of emotions.

' Hah! Turns out it was really her. Have they moved to the capital? Why's her husband acting close with her sister? '

His puzzled look vanished when a middle aged couple joined them and the group walked towards the hotel's entrance. The family had gone out to have lunch together.

Assistant Tan was puzzled when there was no movement from the CEO.

He seemed lost in thoughts as his piercing gaze was fixed on a group of unfamiliar people walking towards the hotel's entrance.

Tan Liang's eyes widened in astonishment and disbelief when he saw Li Zixuan's eyes flashing a pang of extreme pain and deep hatred.

' Why on earth is he so weird today?! '

Tan Liang felt like crying. The CEO had been gloomy since that morning and was very angry with everyone in the company for unknown reasons.

He was very unapproachable and looked as if he'd ruthlessly kill anyone who dared to cross his path.

Assistant Tan felt like he had the most difficult and undesirable job in the whole world. Dealing with the tyrannical and overbearing man was one of the most terrifying things on earth.

He wiped the cold sweat on his face and called softly, " boss. "

Li Zixuan who had been in a stupor snapped back to his senses and coldly glared at the trembling assistant before stepping out of the car expressionlessly.

His face held indifference but his mind was in total mess.

He wasn't sure whether to proceed to his lunch meeting in the hotel or go back to the company.

He didn't know how he'd react in case he crossed paths with her in the hotel. How he'd feel when he laid his eyes on her after such a long time he didn't know, but he was sure it wouldn't be a pleasant feeling. Not at all. It'd be as painful as hell.
