Chapter 4

Walking out I start walking right. Simply because the further I look this way the cleaner it gets but the left is completely the opposite.

I see the sun is well up in the sky, most likely is the afternoon from the strong rays I am getting. I pull up my hoddie to cover my face from the stares I feel I am receiving from the grandmas in the neighborhoods.

After having walked for 15 minute and still being in a residential area I look for a person to ask for directions, while double confirming that my long sleeves are covering my bandage hands.

I see a young lady up ahead and target her.

"Excuse me sister," I say out load to catch her attention while acting cute.

"Do you know we're the Police station is at?"

"Are you lost? Do you want me to take you there? Do you know your home address?" She gave me a pity look while bending down to make eye contact with me.

"Yes can you please take me there! My mom and dad must be worried about me!"

I ask while tearing up and giving her the saddest look I can.

She leads the way while trying to ask me questions on how I got lost. I avoided all them with my tears coming out and asking her repeatedly that i miss my parents, or if we almost there. I don't even need a lot of effort and tears fall down by themselves nonstop.

I could feel my body getting heavier and hotter. I had no choice but to clench my hands for the pain to help me stay awake. I was literally using all my strength to follow her and analyze the path she was taking me incase I am being tricked.

Who am I kidding?!

Even if she tried I couldn't tell in my current situation! The building next to me was wobbly, no everything was wobbly and getting fuzzy. My head was killing me. I felt like we walked forever but my last shred of reason was telling me nowhere. Yet surroundings were moving and changing so abruptly. I try to look for her for support.

Having difficulty telling her features apart I reached out to her skirt I believe and pull it, unsure if I got her attention I inform her before fainting.

"Gwen Novák"

Lola POV

I try to ask the child for more information on how she got lost while leading her to the Police Station. How did she get separated? What's her name? Does she know where her parents live?

But the only responds I would get back from her would be her tears while asking for her family. I felt my heart break at how sad and vulnerable she looked. She was scared and probably shock of being lost.

Soon after walking together other people in the street noticed the situation and came to check up on her. I let them in on the little information I knew and without me noticing we had her in the middle of a circle with people around asking asking questions of concern. I got worried, tears were no longer coming out but the child just looked forward, as of not registering our presence. A Gentleman in a suit bended down trying to check on her but she finally made a response that scared all of us.

Slowly she reached out her right hand, at that moment everyone froze.

Her small little hand was injured and wrapped up, but the blood had completely soaked the bandages and on the palm of her hand you could see glimpse of the wound for the bandage were pull apart.

I felt my tears fall when I saw her pull the gentleman sleeve staining it with blood.

"Gwen Novák"

She said softly before fainting. If not for everyone silence it would not have been heard. The gentleman smoothly catch her and picked her up. He looked at the crowd while shouting

"Ambulance! Call and Ambulance!"
