I was going through my email when I heard a knock on the door.
“Jan, since when do you become such a gentleman to enter my room after knocking!?” I called out jokingly without looking up.
“Oh! So now he’s the one who got full access to your room like I had once.” A sarcastic familiar voice startled me and I shut my laptop lid, looked up as a loud surprised gasp left my lips.
“How… How the hell did you let yourself in?”
“Your toy boy let me in.” Alexander replied nonchalantly but his statement boiled my blood. I ignored him and called out to Jan. He showed up after a moment of silence and quirked up his eyebrows in question.
“Why do you let this prick in when I told you not to?” I talked like Alexander isn’t in the same room.
“Oh really! You also talk about your Exes after fucking each other… that’s new!” Alexander spoke before Can. His jealousy was showing but his disgusting words were what making my skin prickle.
“I think you’ve forgotten that you’re standing under my roof, so either shut your mouth or get the fuck out of here before I call the police.” I glared at him and he rolled his eyes but finally shut his mouth. I looked at Jan and he sighed.
“He wanted to talk about something important. He said that he came here after you allowed him to.” Jan’s explained and I narrowed my eyes at Alexander who now already settled himself down on the couch near the window.
“So you lied without feeling ashamed and came here accusing me of cheating like you own me, huh?” I asked him sternly and he shrugged.
“I do own you!” His attitude was really getting on my nerves.
“Let me correct you, Mr.Fucker! You OWE me, not own me, alright? Now get the hell out of here because I don’t think I was expecting any fucker at the dinner table.” I rudely replied to him. Jan opened up his mouth but then closed it while Alexander smirked ineffectively.
“Okay, but now as I’m already here, you have no choice but to expect anything.” My face reddened from anger, Jan got the seriousness of the situation and cleared his throat awkwardly.
“
“Mr.Alexander! Can you please come with me? We need to talk about something important.” Alexander narrowed his eyes at him but then stood up unwillingly, leaving me with my anger, alone!
I heard hushed voices coming from outside my room but I was not interested in eavesdropping now but more in kicking Alexander’s arrogant ass out of my house. I dialed Saira’s number & she picked up instantly.
“Hey, I am so sorry to not tell you that I’ll not be able to make it to the dinner as we planned because I have some important paperwork to finish before tomorrow.” She started speaking without giving me a chance & then I changed my mind about telling her anything regarding the current situation which was under going right now.
“It’s fine, dear. I was also checking my email & replying to them. I have forwarded you some important details about our current project, don’t forget to check them out!” I replied back calmly and she hummed in response.
“Take care and don’t forget to deliver my greetings to Jan. Bye!”
“Okay, I will!” I responded to her and then we both ended the call. I sighed as I was feeling mentally exhausted and completely spent.
“Dinner is ready, Isa!” I heard Jan’s voice, calling out to me. And I took a deep breath; readying myself to face the disaster which was about to happen on the dining table.
When I reached the table to sit down, Alexander stood up from his seat to pull out the chair for me like a gentleman. But I’m not the one who could buy that shit so basically he wasted his energy and by the smile on Jan’s face, he knew what I was thinking.
“I don’t think you’re still here to pull out the chairs for the residents of this house.” I commented dryly and Jan choked on the water he was drinking. Alexander didn’t even acknowledge my rude comment.
“I wanted to talk to you about some things. You didn’t hear me out that day in the office and I didn’t push you, but now it’s time for you to sit back and listen to me what I have to say, dolcezza (sweetness).” He gave this speech like I give a shit about what he has to say.
“Mr.Alexander Salvatore! Let me get my point through that thick skull of yours: I don’t want to hear anything from the past which I already went through and I never will. So don’t waste your energy & time on me." And then I started eating the delicious pasta Jan made for the dinner. He was also eating his own while listening to the conversation between Alexander and me, closely. Alexander sighed in irritation and then stood up.
“So you want me to leave you without any explanation?” He asked me.
“You didn’t give me the one when I needed it the most. So,now it’s not worth the effort!” I replied to him nonchalantly without sparing him a second glance.
“Cuore mio (my heart), can’t you just forget about the past & think about giving me & my love for you a second chance..?!” He pleaded and I looked up at Jan who was also looking at me. He nodded his head slightly when our eyes met.
“Okay. I forgive you!” I turned towards him and his face lightened up instantly on those words.
“I… Grazie mille, piccola. Ti amo!” (Thanks a lot, baby. I love you!).He took my both hands in his & kissed them both in turns to show his gratitude towards me. Something stirred in my heart as I remembered the first time he did that. I abruptly pulled back my hands and then demanded while staring into his eyes.
“But in return…. I want you to leave me alone in peace, just like before! Can you do this for me?”
“I....can’t!” he protested and I sighed.
“You can’t or you won’t?” And he shook his head.
“I want us to be just like before, our love, affection, yearning for each other, the trust. Everything…. I want to protect you against the world! I can’t leave you like that.” He tried to explain his point to me.
“I don’t need the protection, Alex. I lived those 4 years without it and I can also live next coming years without any of it.” He shook his head and looked at Jan who cleared his throat. Am I missing something here?
“What? Did I say something wrong?” I asked him and he looked away.
“You’re… absolutely right but…. Okay fine. I’ll leave you alone from now on.” He surrendered and I sighed in relief.
“You don’t need to as I have Jan here with me.” I said and he clenched his jaw but he didn’t say anything back. Then he left without eating anything while Jan and I enjoyed our dinner in silence after his departure.
