Part 3/ A sh*t ton of questions.

Stefan.

You gotta love being hungover.

That horrible moment when you wake up from your sleep, and everything hits you like a fucking train.

Headache,nausea,thirst,hunger,pain

emotions. All that stupid shit.

The smell of regret and Vodka fills my nostrils the second my eyes open slightly. Also something else, but I can't quite determine what it is.

I open my eyelids and am faced with an unknown wall.

It has two windows, potted plants, and a few picture frames.

I raise my head a little and realize I'm on a floor.

I'm sleeping on a strangers floor?

Well,at least they gave me a pillow.

"The fuck...?" I turn my head, and see someone sitting on the couch threw my blurry vision.

"Morning sunshine." She says.

"Um..." I say rubbing my eyes so I see her more clearly.

"Here." She passes me an Advil and a bottle of water.

"Thank you..." But I stop before I swallow them.

"How do I know this is Advil?" I ask.

"If I wanted to kill you,I would have just stabbed you last night." She says shrugging.

"I guess." I say gulping them down with a shit ton of water.

"Where the fuck am I? What happened?" I ask rubbing my head.

"You don't remember what happened last night?" She asks placing her coffee mug on the table.

"Uh...?" I scratch the back of my neck as I sit in the floor.

"You forgot how you made love to me? And told me we were gonna be forever together?" She asks, almost crying.

"Oh God.Please don't cry. I..."

I stop when I see her with a shitty grin on her face.

"I'm just fucking with you." She says throwing her head back in laughter.

"You were pretty fucked up last night. And got your ass kicked." She points to the blood on my white shirt.

"You were also rambling about how you have nowhere to go. So I helped." She shrugs taking a sip.

"You're heavy as fuck,by the way." She says as I genuinely smile.

Now since my head has cleared up a little,I stop and look at my hero, apparently.

Her dark brown hair is pulled up i to a bun on top of her head.

Her dark skin almost glows in the morning sun. She has usual brown eyes, but has the most unique beauty.

"...later?" She says as my eyes snap to her again.

"Pardon?"

"I said if you wanted to take a shower, and we could talk later?" She says standing up "No offense, but you look like crap."

I stand up and follow her while my eyes unwillingly trace over her body.

Damn.

You can see most outlines of her body in the tight tank top she's wearing, and cotton shorts.

Small waist, wide hips, long legs and an ass that could...

"Here. These hope these will fit you." She says giving me a towel and clothes, stoping me from my inappropriate thoughts.

"Bathroom's the only other room that doesn't have a bed in it.Knock yourself out." She says with a small smile.

"Thank you." I want to ask her why she's doing this, but first I should shower so she doesn't have to handle how I smell like a strip club in Atlanta.

I decide to ask her something else,or rather tell her.

"Stefan." I say extending my hand out.

She looks up at me and smiles before reaching out her smaller hand forward.

"Charlie."

Beautiful smile.

I nod before I walk down the tiny apartment and into the bathroom.

Charlie.

***

I smell like vanilla, apricot and rose petals.

The hot water felt like heaven against my sore and tired body.

I feel much more awake now,all freshened up.

I put on the pants that fit fine, and the shirt that's just a little tight around my chest.

I make my way to the kitchen where I see her,Charlie, with her phone between her ear and shoulder as she cooks something on the stove.

She sees me,and tells the other caller that she has to go.

I smile when she motions for me to sit on the small table in the middle of the kitchen.

"Thank you." I say after she puts a plate with eggs, bacon and pancakes in front of me,a usual breakfast. But right now It looks like I could eat it in two bites.

"That was my friend. He helped me help you last night. Asked if you were okay." She says also eating.

There is a few minutes of awkward silence as only the sound of utensils hitting plates is heard in the whole apartment.

"You have a nice place here. Small, but Its cozy." I say like an idiot,to the girl who helped me.

"Yeah, well. We can't all have big penthouses and expensive cars." She says as I glare at her.

"Who said I have all of those." I take a sip of my coffee as she chuckles.

"You were wearing an Armani suit. You had the newest iPhone in your pocket. And that." She points to my wrist "Is a Rolex."

"Good observation."

"Thank you." She places her hands under her chin.

"So,do you really have nowhere to go?" She asks.

Should I tell her? A stranger?

She did help you,but she doesn't have to know everything.

"You can tell me,you know. I won't judge." She shrugs.

"My parents cut me off." I simply say as she nods.

"Why?"

I sigh "They had been threatening me for years that If I didn't take things more seriously, they would. But I just ignored it.And then this summer, something happened. And they got a pretty solid reason to disown me."

She doesn't say anything, but her expression is one matching someone's who Is watching a thriller horror movie.

It's asking what happened next.

"I was an ass. I threw money around. Was disrespectful. Drank, did drugs. Burnt a car once..." I say as she chuckles.

"But they finally had enough this year." I sigh as she looks at me again.

"My girlfriend pressed charges for rape against me."

Usually people look at me in disgust or fear or any emotion other than hers right now.

Charlie was looking at me in surprise and...sympathy?

"Wow..." she simply says, looking down at the table.

"I know how you feel. And I completely understand. I'll leave now. Thank you for the hospitality. I hope I can..."

"Did you do it?" She asks.

I frown, shock consuming my features now "What?"

"I asked if you did it.Did you rape your girlfriend?" She says slowly.

"No." I answer the question that everyone else I know failed to ask me.

"I was high...that night." I say gulping.

"But I never...I could never do that to someone." I say shaking my head.

"Than how did she press charges if there was no evidence?"

"We...we had sex.And they found my DNA. There were bruises around her throat." I groan as I rub my hands against my face.

"Her dad works for the DEA.It was easy to charge me."

"Why would she accuse you of something like that?" She asks clearing her throat and sits up straight.

" I broke up with her a month earlier. She wasn't to happy about it.And I was a fucking idiot and slept with her again. So,here we are."

"Wow." She repeats and crosses her arms over her chest.

"Like I said. Thanks for everything. But I'll figure something out..."

"Stefan."

"Look me in the eyes, and tell me that you didn't hurt that girl." She says leaning forward, placing her face inches from mine.

"I know I don't know you. But please tell me you didn't do something that horrible." She says, her voice coming out shaky.

I lean close too,and look at her dark brown eyes for a long time before I reply.

"Charlie. I swear in everything, and on every cell in my body that I didn't. I could never do that to someone I once loved. Or anyone! I'm not a rapist!" I say as she licks her lips and leans against her seat again.

"Okay." She sighs "You can stay here until you find somewhere to stay." She says as my eyes widen.

"Are you for real? You don't have a roommate?" I ask.

"Yeah, but she mostly stays at her boyfriends place anyway." She shrugs as I smile.

"Thank you. That would be great." I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. For now...

"My friend is out of town,I'll stay with him when he comes back tomorrow ."

"You sure?" She asks as I nod.

"I'll insist. He knows I don't take no for an answer." I say as she smiles.

"Isn't that why your parents kicked you out?" She asks as I stare at her in confusion.

"Because you can't take no for an answer." She says as I shake my head.

"I'm sorry. That was inappropriate." She says placing her hand over her mouth to hide her smile.

"That's okay.Everything in my life is turning into a joke. You might as well have your shot." I shrug.

I feel like God is laughing at me.

So might as well let a pretty girl laugh too.
