Chapter 3: Street level!

Derek was crouched on a fairly tall building like usual, watching the cars ride past and citizens enjoying the land of the living, in Chealb there's people of all walks of life and his family has an inbuilt desire to protect all of it.

Suddenly there's a high speed chase involving what he can only assume to be bank robbers and police that sped by him. At first, he doubted himself, still having some piece of confidence though, he leaps off the building in a stylish manner before transforming into white smoke to try to catch up to the chase, however, after 10 minutes he runs out of energy and is forced back into his regular form and dropped to the ground.

Derek beat himself up a little, "How does gramps stay like that for hours??" He asked himself with a little bit of vexation and confusion in a combo, "10 minutes feels like I'm running a 900 mile marathon, yeevsh!" Derek thought to himself as he was getting off the ground.

"Ahh!" Derek heard which sounded like a terrified shriek, Derek hurried over to the noise as quick as he could…

"Hand over your purse, old woman!" Said a thug with a ski mask on and a gun trained on the old woman, "Such a classic crime, robbing a defenseless old woman in an alleyway for, if you're lucky, 20$?" Derek said from above but the thug got terrified and heard him behind himself somehow, "up above, tool!" Derek yelled as he was dropping down, the thug realized what he said and tried to shoot upwards but Derek was dropping down with an elbow and dodged the shot by spinning.

This thug broke Derek's fall and his descending elbow knocked him out cold, "Thank god he wasn't an expertly trained marksman, that was a stupid gamble!" Derek said to the old woman as he picked himself up.

"Oh thank you, young man!" The old man appreciated his help and started pinching his left cheek, "No problem Miss, hey, call the rozzers for me?" Derek asked as he started heading toward a wall, "Thanksss!!" He yelled before he hopped and launched himself off the wall and turned into smoke and flew away.

Derek wandered around town for ages before a sign of trouble appeared in front of him, it was a street fight that he got the sense would escalate into a death match if someone didn't step in.

Derek hopped off the building and like how his Grandma taught him, backflipped, front flipped, side flipped over the large crowd that was gathering to see the street bout, the more he tried to get to the center, the more yelling he'd hear.

Derek finally made it to the center where he saw a very, very large man in the face of another… very, very large man, but he is 5'7 so maybe 6'5 was just too tall?

"Sup?" Derek asked with his calmest tone of voice, "What seems to be the problem?" He finished.

The two guys quit fighting as he got their attention, seeing how tiny and bold this costumed kid was made them crack up laughing, "This teeny little fella, like he's a real hero!" One of them blurted as he couldn't stop laughing, "If you could leave so he and I can battle to the death, that'd be great, thanks wimp!" The other guy blurted while laughing uncontrollably.

"Well, now you two have an issue with me since I can't let you do that, definitely not in front of all these citizens!" Derek replied in a true serious manner, "They've come to see a street fight, not be part of a murder scene!" Derek told them assertively.

The two huge men looked at one another for a quick minute, before unexpectedly trying to duo push kick Derek in the chest, however, he was able to evade this by using his superb sense of danger and agility to leap like a gymnast clean over the men.

He was amazed and they were amazed by the height he reached, "The training is paying off, wow!" He thought to himself, then he turned around and his happiness ceased as he saw the large men smiling sadistically.

"Oh no, guys, you guys don't seem too bright, here's some advice, take mine and makeup!" Derek started as he got in a combat stance.

One of the men threw a punch, Derek dodged and fired back one of his own, it didn't even phase him. Derek backed away slowly, smiling nervously while his punch still angered the brute.

"Boor, can I call ya boor?" Derek asked nervously as he continued backing away slowly and calmly, "Alright, fists didn't work, would peacefully talking our feelings out work better?" Derek finished with a shrug as he realized he was backed up against a wall, and so did the big men he was fighting.

Derek attempted to sprint away, but he was blindsided with an uppercut to the gut by the other guy who's been quiet. This punch was devastating to him, Derek dropped to the ground outpowered and forced in the fetal position.

"Stay out of our business next time, Mist knock off!" Said Yebo before he laughed at his own insult, with his brother laughing at it too, "Yeah, the little boy will never be like his father, always just a failure to him!" Yeno responded, causing harder laughter from the both of them while they walked away and Derek was still groveling in pain on the ground until he heard what Yeno commented.

It struck him deep, it struck him hard, even when he knew it shouldn't have hurt him as much as it did since it was coming from a scumbag. That exact statement has been lingering around in his mind since he was 8, but he refused to admit there's any validity in it and he still refuses.

"I refuse, refuse to admit that's right!" Derek yelled out as he picked himself back up off the ground, "I'm carrying this for all 3!" Derek told himself as he stood up and squared up in a comfortable boxing stance.

Yeno and Yebo turned around as soon as they heard his voice, looking at him like he's insane and psycho, with a bit of confusion thrown in.

"This isn't a game, tiny." Yebo yelled angrily and very, vexed…

"Oh I know, I'd describe it as more of a thrill or maybe a thrilling little hobby of mine?" Derek responded mockingly while he placed his index finger on his chin.

"Ugh!" Yebo noises as he charges Derek's way with the intent to hospitalize him, or like his father would do, to make sure he never plays hero again.

Derek hopped over him, perfectly timed and stylish with tagging Yebo's shoulder midway in the air.

Yebo turned around to meet Derek's knee to his face followed up by a flurry of swift blows to his gut ending with a flying spin kick to his face.

Derek delivered 20 blows, all punches before Yebo fell.

Yeno realizes what just happened and tries to fight smarter than his brother, Yeno dropkicked Derek but he was able to block it with his forearms but it broke his guard. Derek was undoubtedly more surprised Yeno could be so agile and athletic while being so large.

Derek was blown away thanks to Yeno's leg power.

"The big man with the long blonde hair's gimmick is his legs, the one with the weird bangs is his arms, what a very dynamic duo!" Derek noted and commented in his thoughts as he was recovering from that powerful double legged dropkick.

Derek charged Yeno this time but rolled right under him utilizing his smaller size against him, "Always harder for a big man to fight a short stack!" Derek commented aloud as he lifted himself up with one arm once he was on the ground behind him, he launched himself up and double legged drop kicked Yeno's chest as hard as he could, except again this had little effect.

Derek repeatedly launched himself from the ground up to Yeno's face, it took 10 different times to take him down.

Derek did his best to cope with the close to fatal blows he took earlier on, and he powered through pretty well with Bruised ribs.

His adrenaline and anger helped him in this fight.

Police sirens sounded as he expected, but Derek could barely get off his knees now that the moment's passed and the pain from those powerhouses warnings came…

Derek usually has to focus heavily or feel the air as he's flying to kick in his Enotoskure form and escape easily but thanks to his injuries from the brothers he fought, neither'll work for him.

So, Derek sprinted as quick as he could, and ran.
