REDACTED: Case 03: Incident 1

A hand grabbed the fang inside the mouth of one of the Corrupter. Its grip was so strong that the creature could neither move its head nor close its mouth. Puzzled, it looked down at its prey.

The boy was gone, in its place was something strange. Darkness cloaked the humanoid figure, churning and swirling without a definite shape. In what appeared to be its head, 2 blood-red glowing eyes stared at the beast.

Grasping tightly, the shadowy monster yanked the fang right out of the creature's mouth. There was a disgusting tear flesh as it came undone. Pained, the creature reeled back in pain. The shadowy monster swung the arm holding the now loose fang and slammed right into the head of the creature, killing it instantly and sending its corpse flying away.

The other creatures growled as the shadowy figure grabbed the broken sword. Slowly, it rose to its feet, its head facing towards the ground. No one moved. One of the creatures, anxious from waiting, leaped at the demon. There was a gust of wind. The attacking Corrupter was split down the middle. And all hell broke loose as all the creatures attacked in full force.

The moon slowly was near the heading towards the horizon. Clouds disappeared from the sky as the sky started to become a lighter blue. The head Corrupter was resting in the field, its head touched the ground as it tried to sleep. A gust of wind blew onto the beast, ruffling its fur.

Its head snapped up once it smelled the air. It looked to the left. Nothing. It looked right. Nothing. A branch snapped to the left of the creature. It rose from the ground. When it looked, there wasn't anything there. The Corruptor tilted its head confused. Getting ready to rest once more, it causally turned in the other direction.

The demon punched the creature with a monstrous force. The creature crashed through a boulder that was nearby.

The demon had begun a slow approach towards the creature. During the time it walked, its darkness spread down from its arm to the sword in its hand. Murky coils twirled and weaved around the broken blade, forming a new blade that merged with its hand. A curved black horn sprouted out on the side of its head as it proceeded towards the creature.

Getting up, the creature wobbled to all four. Its head is still feeling the effects of the punch. Once it got its bearings, it faced the new enemy. Its fur glowed as it erupted into a blaze of fire. The shadowy figure sprinted towards it.

Noticing the movement, the creature blasted its fiery cannon. The shadowy figure took a small leap before hunching down. Right as the giant flood of fire was about to hit, it sprung forth into the air, dodging the attack by mere hairs. The demon was on top of the creature before it could react.

It landed right on the creature's head, shutting its mouth and slamming it into the ground. The impact shattered the ground around them, sending dirt into the air. Raising its fist, it struck the creature in the head. The earth fractured more. A muffled growl escaped out of the creature.

It raised its hand, bringing it down, over and over repeatedly. One by one, each blow shattered the ground into unfamiliar pieces. Growing tired of punching, it rose one foot back. The demon punted the beast right in the stomach. Mounds of dirt loosened as the beast slid a few meters away.

The beast whimpered as it rose. One of its eyes was bleeding, dripping down its face. All the teeth in its mouth were broken into pieces. Dazed, it looked at the shadowy figure as it menacing approached to continue the onslaught. The creature opened its mouth one more time.

All of the flames around its body flickered before moving to the gaping mouth of the creature. It had gathered into a giant ball of fire before it unleashed a humongous beam of concentrated energy.

The shadow figure held its sword arm in front, the blade's edge aimed at the blazing attack. The beam hit the shadow figure head-on. It flinched, steadying the sword with its free hand on the blade.

Reflecting off the blade, it split down the middle, hitting the trees in its path. They were incinerated in an instant, leaving magma in its wake.

Unaffected by the beam, the shadowy figure took one step forward. After a moment, it took another. It progressively moved closer to the creature as the beam constantly fired. Seeing the figure getting closer, the creature increased the power of the beam. This stopped the demon for a moment.

Suddenly, the beam grew weaker. Confused, the Corruptor tried to strengthen the beam. However, the figure was approaching with little resistance. When it got closer, the creature's eye widened as it saw the reason why.

The beam wasn't getting weaker due to the creature. It was weakening because the beam was getting absorbed by the figure. The darkness engulfing the figure gobbled the beam at aggressive speeds, leaving no injuries.

Once the figure was within inches of the creature, its arm shot up and grabbed the creature by the throat, stopping the beam completely.

It clawed at the shadow figure with its front paws. It only managed to land 2 attacks before its claws were absorbed by the darkness. Blood gushed out from its paw as it continued to writhe around. In a single stroke from the sword arm, the figure removed the creature's head. The rest of the body went limp and flopped to the ground.

The figure stared at the lifeless head of the creature in its hand. Shadows swirling around the head shuffled around. They reshaped into something that resembled a mouth, with jagged ends lining up in top and bottom rows. It opened its mouth and chopped at the head in its hand. Blood splattered as it grind the bones into little pieces.

After it was done, it raised its head back and let out a deafening roar. Animals scattered quickly to get away from whatever made the roar. After a few minutes of continuous shooting, it stopped abruptly. It stood still and quiet like a statue with its head raised to the sky. The shadowy monster dropped to its knees before flopping face-first into the ground.

The sky was a very light gray and the sun could be seen rising in the west. Small stacks of smoke littered the village as the last of the fires had finally stopped. Silence filled the air, broken by the sound of crunching footsteps.

A cloaked, hooded figure slowly walked through the burnt streets of the village, only stopping to take in the extent of the destruction. They noticed more tracks that lead outside the village. Their hand never left their sword as they followed the tracks.

Once they made it towards a clearing, they paused to take in the sight. Everything was a wreck, from the trees that were blown apart to the ground like something had been dragged across the dirt.

Despite the massive destruction, the thing that made the figure stop was the 2 things that sat in the epicenter of it all: The Corrupted and some unknown person.

First, they walked over to the Corrupted. Its body was mangled and beaten to a pulp. With just a quick look, he could tell it was a one-sided fight. Worst of all, it was missing its head.

Reaching into the cloak, the cloaked person pulled out a liquid in a cube-shaped bottle and poured the contents onto the body. Finally, they walked over to the person laying down nearby. The figure squatted down to examine the person.

It was a boy. He was wearing no shirt revealing a silver necklace hanging around the neck. His shorts were torn to shreds. A sword was resting at one side of the boy, while on the other side, his hands were gripped tightly around a white object.

After ripping it from his hands, the cloaked person inspected it. It appeared to be a large fang, most likely from the slain Corrupted. They glanced back at the completely unharmed boy. His chest inflated and deflated as he took each breath.

They looked back at the creature's body to see the progress of the liquid. The liquid sizzled as it caused the body to erode. 10 minutes later, nothing remained of the creature except the ground that was left in a weird shape.

They turned back towards the boy. Normally, it would be nearly impossible for any normal person to defeat. Despite the odds, here lies a boy with the Corruptor's fang in his hand.

The cloaked figure pondered for a moment on what to do with the boy, before coming to a decision. A metallic swish echoed across the field. Standing over the boy, they looked at their blade for a moment before returning their attention down.

They knew what they had to do.
