Chapter 18: Learning

The meal had been successful and now it was time for Tights to leave for her job, but she would visit her sister and her parents more often.

"Are you really leaving now my dear?" asked Panchy, holding a plate on which was a strawberry shortcake.

"Yes mom, I have to keep working on some business, but I'll be back in two days" Tights spoke, looking at her mother, who nodded pouting.

"It was nice having you around again daughter," Dr. Briefs mentioned, stretching his mustache as usual.

Tights walked over and hugged both of his parents lovingly. They both reciprocated that gesture with a smile on their faces.

Tights walked over to where her younger sister Bulma and his best friend Goku were.

"Sister"

They both spoke in unison and hugged each other. The words they exchanged earlier served to reinforce their relationship quite a bit.

"Then I also hope to see you soon Goku, until then take care of yourself" Tights mentioned stretching out his hand as a gesture of greeting.

"Of course Tights! I also hope to see you soon" said the black-haired man with a smile on his lips.

The blonde-haired girl approached her younger sister and whispered in her ear:

"If you don't keep him, let him stay with me." Tights spoke, pointing slyly at Goku and Bulma's face reddened enormously.

"But what nonsense are you talking?!" exclaimed the blue-haired girl with a vein in her forehead and Tights laughed at those words.

"Easy, it was a joke" Tights clarified with a laugh and Bulma coughed, regaining her composure.

Tights took a Hoi-poi capsule out of her pocket and threw it a few feet from her, producing a slight cloud of smoke that seconds later was vanished by the action of the wind.

A small helicopter emerged from that capsule, large enough for one person.

"Then, even another family!" Tights exclaimed inside the plane as he started it up and the helicopter began to climb.

Tights said goodbye to them waving his hand, until he was lost among the white clouds of the sky, before the gaze of those present.

"Well... then what do we do?" Bulma asked, placing her beautiful eyes on Goku's figure, waiting for her suggestions.

"How about we keep learning how to change diapers?" Goku asked with a smile.

"No Goku, we are not going to eat ... wait, what?!" Asked Bulma upon hearing the words of his friend. "Are you Goku? Are you sure you don't want to eat anywhere?" Bulma added.

"Of course I want to go..." Goku spoke laying both hands on the back of his neck. "But changing diapers will also be important in the future and I want to continue learning" explained the black-haired man.

'Did Goku really just tell me this? Maybe it was my imagination' Bulma thought rubbing her eyes in disbelief.

"I-okay, let's do that..." Bulma spoke with a smile, after all, his friend was right, right?

Without further ado they entered the building followed by Dr. Briefs and Panchy, who watched the scene with a smile.

Later.

Bedroom.

"You've made it! This time it only took you two minutes to do it" Bulma cried holding a stopwatch those five attempts have been worth it - she added smiling nervously -

For their daily rehearsals they used an artificial baby that had various built-in sounds.

Bulma thought they could "borrow" a random baby in the park and use it to practice, and then give it back to their respective parents, but she quickly ended up discarding that idea because of how bad it sounded.

"Well, I think I know how to do it better now" the boy professed scratching the back of his neck. "What's next Bulma now?" asked Goku.

"Hold baby Goku" Bulma said, taking that baby in her arms and holding it out to the boy with the onyx eyes and dark hair.

Goku took the baby in his arms and held him as best he could, while he smiled nervously.

Bulma hit her head at that, it was clear that Goku had yet to learn how to properly hold a baby.

"This is not how you don't catch a baby Goku..." Bulma smiled as she got closer to him, to teach him properly. "The main thing is to ensure the baby's comfort. Let's see, how would you make him comfortable?"

Goku thought for a moment and finally used his left hand to make the baby's head rest on it while the baby's bottom rested on his right hand.

"This is Bulma?" Goku asked doing his best, really Bulma would have to reward him with food after everything he was doing.

"You're doing great Goku" the girl replied with a smile on her face. "To do better, rest the baby's head on your chest and try to sing something nice to him" Bulma added remembering what she saw in the movies.

"Sing something nice to him?" Goku asked, no doubt stunned. In the book Bulma bought him he read about singing songs or "lullabies" to babies to make them fall asleep, but he didn't know one of those strange songs either.

"Yes Goku! You have a very beautiful voice" Bulma complimented with a smile, remembering the moment when they were both at karaoke, "come on, sing something beautiful to the baby" she added.

"But I don't know any songs" Goku pretended, still stunned, "so he couldn't sing any songs to the baby."

"You always make excuses for everything" Bulma spoke as she massaged her temple, "then give me the baby, I'll sing her one of the songs my mother used to sing to me when she was little."

Goku extended the artificial baby to Bulma and she took him in her arms, lovingly laying that baby's small head on her chest.

Bulma began to sing, mentioning the sounds that various animals made, until she finished singing. "What did you think of Goku?"

"...."

A bead of sweat appeared on the black-haired man's head at the end of that song. He could only clap his hands by smiling nervously.

"Did your mother sing those songs to you?" Goku asked, smiling nervously and the blue-eyed girl nodded to her question.

"Yes, it's a beautiful song, right?" inquired Bulma with a smile and the boy had no choice but to nod, what she least wanted is for Bulma to punish him without food.

"You'll have to learn several songs, Goku" said Bulma, raising the index finger of her right hand and Goku swallowed when he heard her. "How about we go to the mall to find a book that has songs for children?"

"Of course, there is no problem" answered Goku, resting his hands on the back of his neck. "Maybe we could eat there..."

"I knew you were hungry! You can't fool me" Bulma pointed out with a smile and the boy scratched the back of his neck, smiling.

Hours later.

Mall.

'But if Bulma said we were only going for a book' Goku thought as he carried Bulma's bags, which contained a lot of clothes.

Bulma carried the songbook in her bag while his best friend carried the rest of the purchase.

"I should also buy a set for you, don't you think?" Asked Bulma smiling with great sarcasm and a chibi Goku denied at those words. "Hahaha! it was a joke Goku".

"So, are we going to eat now?" inquired Goku with a drop of sweat, his stomach would soon make a rebellion if he did not receive what he demanded so eagerly: food.

"Then Goku.. look! A jewelry store, I haven't been to one for a long time" Bulma changed her course and headed towards that place. "Let's go Goku! Don't be slow and follow me" added the young girl.

"Wait Bulma!" Goku yelled following his friend towards the jewelry store, carrying Bulma's pile of bags as best he could.
