The smile on her face grew wider, "I can't promise anything soon but we will come up with something later, how does that sound?"
"Better than a no!" he chuckled.
As the two entered the cafeteria together, their eyes searched for their friends. Ashley took a peek outside to find Natalie, Anna and Samantha on the backside of the cafeteria.
"My friends are at the back, bye Sam!" she smiled.
"Hey, this isn't over for today! Didn't you say you were gonna come to say goodbye before you leave for home?"
"IF I get the time."
"Well IF you do get the time I hope we can continue talking from where we left off." His eyes twinkled as he smiled trying to make sure his mystery girl knew this wasn't over between them.
She smiled one last time and nodded before she turned around to walk towards her friends. "He was perhaps the sweetest guy she had ever spoken to. He was smart and witty. He was exactly her type." she thought to herself.
"Hey guys!" she greeted her friends as she cleared up a seat in between Natalie and Anna to sit and continued turning her face towards Anna, "How are you feeling now? What happened exactly?"
"Uh I think it was the period cramps, Natalie just got me some hot tea and I feel a little better already," she said with a sigh of relief as she took another sip of her tea.
"Thank God!" said Ashley and continued speaking as she directed her head towards Natalie and Samantha "So, how was the day? Are you guys free now?"
"They have announced a biochemistry test for next week!" cried Natalie. "I'm so worried, I'm gonna have to start studying as soon as possible from today."
"Oh, God...Another test?" sighed Ashley
"And wait till you hear the syllabus. Four whole chapters!" continued Natalie.
"What book are you guys gonna study from?" inquired Anna as the tea relieved her pain.
"I think I am gonna start with Lippincott," said Samantha.
"Lippincott? But why not go for a short book?" cried out Natalie.
"I said I'm gonna start with Lippincott. If that feels too much then I will move to a short book but I would like to begin with a longer textbook to clear out my concepts."
As Natalie and Samantha continued to discuss their strategies for acing the upcoming Biochemistry test, Ashley decided to use the opportunity and pulled her chair closer to Anna whom she was dying to share all the latest updates regarding Samuel with.
"Anna, I just spoke to him!! We had a proper conversation! Not just the glances and the hi-hellos!! But actual life details!!" she whispered excitedly.
Anna's eyes grew wider, "What?! Is he here?"
"Yes, he is!"
"Wait wait wait I wanna know everything in detail!" whispered Anna. "I'm gonna go get some chips, all this pain is making me hungry, Ash you wanna come along?" declared Anna loudly as she signalled Ashley to come along with her so the two girls could talk in private.
"Yeah, sure!" answered Ashley loudly as she got up and followed her friend back inside the cafeteria building.
As soon as they came inside Anna forgot all about her pain and turned around at her friend, "Oh my God! Were you with him when I called? I'm so sorry!! What happened? Tell me everything!!!"
"Anna he is so much sweeter and nicer than we thought he was!"
As Ashley narrated the entire story, Anna's mouth dropped open in surprise when she found out about Sam's condition. "How did we never notice, Ashley?"
"I don't know. I was just as shocked as you are but, to be honest, I don't even care about it."
"Awwww!!" gushed Anna as she realized her friend was falling in love for real as she continued "Ash, that's so sweet! What now? Did he ask for your number?"
"Uhhh no. Do you think he should have?" asked Ashley confused.
"No no it's fine, I just assumed he must have asked for your number or something. I mean how are the two of you gonna stay in touch now?" inquired Ashley.
"Well...He did say he wanted to continue talking with me again and I told him I'd try my best to meet him before I left for home today. Maybe he will ask for my number then. Besides this is the first time we had an actual conversation so I don't expect him to be this hasty in asking my number." asked Ashley
"I think you're right, everything is moving at a smooth pace. God, I love how sweet your love story is going. It's just so cute! And hey why don't you take yourself back to the library? We are free now for the day!" said Anna enthusiastically.
"You think I should go back this soon? I don't want him to think I have nothing better to do than roam around him the entire day."
"Ashley please just stop overthinking the love story, God is legit blessing you with and hurry yourself to the library so he can ask for your number."
"Okay okay I'm going but please come along with me? I don't wanna sit over there alone." pleaded Ashley.
"Ash, I'm so sorry but I have my Anatomy lab today remember? Wait let me just ask Natalie and Samantha to go with you. You can stay with them and then excuse yourself to talk to Sam when you want to, how about that?" said Anna as she ran back towards the backside of the cafeteria to ask Natalie and Samantha if they wanted to go to the library as they were free for the day and luckily they agreed.
"I will be back in an hour or so! Please don't leave without telling me if something else happens! Best of luck!!" exclaimed Anna as she hugged her friend and left to take her lab quickly so she could get free as soon as possible.

As the three girls entered the library, Samantha took off to sit alone at the other side so she could start studying Biochemistry without being distracted, leaving Ashley and Natalie together.
Ashley glanced over to Samuel's seat but he wasn't there. Her eyes moved through the library from one person to another trying to find Samuel but he was nowhere to be seen and neither was Emma. "Maybe he hadn't come back from lunch." she thought to herself as she noticed his books still placed on the table where he was sitting.
"Where should we sit?" asked Natalie as she tried finding a place near the air conditioner. "How about this place right here?" said Ashley as she pointed at the seats near Samuel's so that whenever he came back he would have to first move past from where the girls were seated to reach his place.
"Perfect!" answered Natalie happily as she put her bag down enjoying the cool breeze from the air conditioner nearby directed towards them.
