The next morning, Loki's Xp had went up again, and his Stamina and Hp had been restored.
[10/200 Xp]
[Stamina: 11/11]
[Hp: 20/20]
The moment he had washed up and dressed, his friends pounced on him.
"So? No more stalling!" Terrence said impatiently.
Loki started to slowly explain everything in detail. When he had finally finished explaining everything, all of their jaws were on the ground.
"Let me get this straight," Seraphine said slowly. "You are a descendant of the ancient Laufeyson Original family, and not Loki Bailey like you're registered in the world. You have more than one Ability, you can earn 'Xp', you can store things in an 'Inventory'. You can see your own speed, strength, agility, stamina, defense and stealth, and add them with the 'stat points' you get when you level up. You have 'daily challenges' that you can complete to level up, as well as 'social quests' and ''combat quests'? I- I can't even-"
"My mind is blown," was all Terrence said.
"You can inspect people? Can you inspect us, then? Maybe you can see our weaknesses and tell us what they are so that we can improve them!" Daphne was the only one who didn't seem too affected by everything.
"Shut up," Terrence said, rubbing his temple. "What about that new Ability you got? Mind Link? Maybe you can try to use it on one of us?"
"I can't," Loki said regretfully. "I need 12 Strength points, and the most I have right now is 10."
"But didn't you say you saved 2 stat points?" Seraphine asked. "Can't you use those 2 on your strength?"
"I mean, I could, I was just wondering if I should up Strength for the mind link, or Stamina, so I can use Memory Warp more. Though I think I will use Memory Link. Any suggestions on who? I can only use it on one of you."
"I nominate Daphne," Terrence piped up. "She's the strongest of us all, and since she's an Original, if something big happens, she'll be one of the first to know, and can tell Loki immediately."
Seraphine nodded. "I agree."
"Well, looks like all is in favor of it being you, Daph," Loki said. "Do you want to?"
"Are you kidding! Of course! That would be sooooo cool!" Daphne bounced excitedly.
'I want to add my two stat point to my Strength, and share my Mind Link with Daphne.'
[2 stat points have been added to Strength]
[Strength: 12/12]
[Mind Link activated: -12 Strength]
[Strength: 0/12]
[Mind Link has been successfully shared to Daphne Phoenix]
"Hey guys?" Terrence and Seraphine stood up. "We'll be heading to breakfast first. Later we can hang out and talk about this together, right?"
"Sure!" Daphne waved them off. "How do I test if it worked, Lo?" Daphne turned back to Loki.
"Try to think of you saying something to me through your mind. That's how I get the system to work, anyway."
'Hey Loki? I'm imagining myself talking to you through my mind right now. Can you hear me? Is it working? It feels so weird doing this. Can you answer me?'
Loki clutched his head. "Daphne, can you please stop babbling in my brain? And yes, I can hear you."
"Wow! Can you say something to me through your head?" Daphne's eyes seemed to be sparkling.
'Can you please calm down?' Loki thought to Daphne.
'Eeeeeek! Besties forever!' Daphne squealed into his mind as she tackled him into a hug.
"Get off me," Loki pushed Daphne off him. "Come on, let's go for breakfast."
They were heading out from the cafeteria, having eaten their breakfast, when two officers walked up to them. "Daphne Phoenix, Loki Bailey," one of the officers said. "Come with us."
Sharing a look, the two followed the military officers into an interrogation room.
'Do you know what this is about?' Loki asked Daphne through his mind.
'No idea,' was the reply he got.
A woman was already sitting at a table in the room. She looked up at them and motioned for them to sit in the chairs next to her. They slipped into the seats quietly.
[Name: Danielle Covington]
[Race: Ghoul]
[Speed: 15/15]
[Stamina: 8/8]
[Ability: Lie detector]
[She can tell when someone tells a lie by touching them]
[Weakness: Is powerful, but burns out fast]
'She can tell if we're lying,' Loki quickly let Daphne know.
"So," the woman said, placing her hands on theirs. "My name is Danielle. I want you guys to answer my questions truthfully, okay?
Both of them nodded. "Good. Now, first question, did you know Miss Ava Silver?"
"Yes," both of them replied.
"Next question. Did you particularly like Miss Ava? It was known that you hung around her."
"Well, not anymore," Loki said thoughtfully. "So, I guess no, we don't really like her." Daphne nodded.
"Last question," Danielle said. "Would you have ever done anything to harm Miss Ava?"
"No!" the two of them exclaimed. "We'd never do that," Daphne said, looking upset.
"Very well. I know that you're telling the truth," Danielle said, getting up to leave. "You may go."
"Wait!" Loki called out. "Could you tell us why you were asking us those questions? And why did you keep referring to Ava in past tense?"
Danielle looked at them grimly. "You see..."
"Ava Silver has been found dead."
