Ghost Hunting with a Foxcat

3rd POV

"Well, that was..."

"Chaotic?" Fubuki finished as Zeno chuckled weakly.

"Uhuh, but it was lovely though. Everyone is so energetic, except for little onion." Zeno laughed fondly at the thought of Aqua.

"Hmm? Do you like Aqua-chan?" Fubuki narrowed her eyes.

"Ah? Well of course! Who wouldn't like such a shy and cute little onion? But if you are talking about romantic liking, then no." Fubuki nodded her head and sighed in relief.

"Why? Is there something wrong in romantic relationships in Hololive?" Zeno inquired with his eyebrow raised.

"Well we are idols, as such, relationships are rather a complicated topic amongst us. Yagoo-san doesn't really mind, but we are still having mixed feelings about it." Zeno nodded his head as they turn towards a corner.

"Anyway, I still need to unpack a lot of my stuff back at my apartment. Here is my phone number, text me, or call me if our offline collab will start Foxy-senpai." Entering the elevator, Zeno handed a piece of paper to Fubuki and pressed the number for the lobby.

"Ja ne~" Doing a two-finger salute, Zeno smiled as the doors close. Fubuki smiled and did the same.

"And done!" Stretching his body, Zeno smiled in satisfaction as he looks around his room.

Towards the corner, he gazed fondly at his rather simple and beautiful setup.

He doesn't like fancy setups like those posted on Ytube, he just like simple, beautiful, and rational kind of setups.

Adjacent to his pc setup was a cozy double bed. The top was full of drawers and shelves, while the bed at the bottom was enough for two people to sleep on and cuddle.

Beside the bed was an illuminating lava lamp, that alternates from violet to neon green.

Towards the window of the apartment is a desk. Nothing too fancy, just a normal desk filled with various books and various trinkets he collected throughout his stay in this world.

Towards the middle of the apartment is an antique-looking chabudai table that he bought from a kind old woman near his old place.

After that are miscellaneous things, like the fridge that seemed to be big enough to fit a person inside. The little bean bag near the pc setup, as well as a foldable couch under his bed.

Zeno admired the fresh outlook of his new place when his phone suddenly rang.

Taking out two different phones, he glanced at the phone he mainly uses to play with and saw it off. Before looking at the one he uses for daily necessities.

"Yoshallo! Zeno here, who's calling?" Putting down the gaming phone, Zeno slumped down on his gaming chair and turned on his pc.

"Konbankitsune! It's Fubuki here! Zeno-san, are you all set?" Recognition dawned on Zeno's face as he chuckled.

"Yep, all set and ready. Just waiting for the pc to boot up. So, what are we playing Foxy-senpai?" Zeno asked as he suddenly heard a chuff behind him.

"Ah, are you easily scared Zeno-san? We are going to play Phasmophobia with two others, I hope you don't mind." Fubuki said over the phone as Zeno twirled his chair around and picked up his precious pet.

"It's fine, who are we playing with?" Stroking the fur of the little white tiger cub, Zeno smiled at her. The tiger cub only snuggled further on his arms and playfully bite his arm.

"Miosha and Matsuri are going to accompany us!" Zeno blinked at that and booted up Discord and Phasmophobia.

"Is that so, Miosha or Mio, was the Wolf Girl right? Then Matsuri is the lolicon?" An indignant shout was heard over Fubuki's side, as well as a cute bout of laughter or in this case, wheezing as Zeno thought.

"Oh, they are beside you aren't they?" Fubuki only giggled. Zeno facepalmed and apologized immediately.

"I'm so sorry Matsuri-senpai! It's all Foxy-senpai's fault, she was the one who introduced you like that." Zeno smirked when he heard Fubuki shriek and Matsuri's 'Neeeee!'.

"Anyway, I'm all set, send me the link for the discord call so we can start this ghost hunting adventure up!" Picking up the tiger cub, he gently lowered her to the ground and patted her head.

"Now be a good girl okay, Freya?" The now-named tiger cub, Freya, chuffed and licked his finger before laying down on the bean bag.

"Eh? Who was that Zeno-san?" Fubuki asked over the phone.

"Oh, that's just Freya, my adopted pet tiger." Zeno nonchalantly explained as Fubuki and the others gasped.

"YOU HAVE A PET TIGER?!" Stunned, Zeno pushed his phone away from his ears.

"Geezus, careful with the ear rape will ya? I was not ready and yeah, Freya is a tiger cub."

"You gotta show her to us sometime!" Fubuki squealed at the thought of meeting a cute tiger cub.

"I dunno, aren't animals not allowed on Hololive building?" Zeno then heard amused chuckles.

"Ne Zeno-san, aren't you forgetting that we are also half animals?" The edge at Fubuki's voice made Zeno's hair stand to the end.

"Right, dumb question. Now let's go over to discord so the others can join in, and I can finally know them more." Zeno hummed and waited for Fubuki to say okay, before hanging up.

He waited for a while before a link was sent over and he joined in. Just in time to hear Mio's wheezing at something.

(A/N: The format for dialogue of discord will be different from the other normal dialogue. Although it might change later when they play, yeah, you get the gist of it.)

Zeno: Eh? I just came in and I hear Mio wheezing, what happened?

Mio: *blessed laughter W-wait! It's just, I remembered the time when Fubuki and Matsuri played Phasmophobia and well... *More blessed laughter.

Matsuri: Oi Mio! It's not funny okay?!

Fubuki: It kinda is. *Cat- I mean fox giggles.

Zeno: I see, it's okay Matsuri-senpai. Your sacrifice will not be in vain.

Matsuri: Oi! What's that supposed to mean kouhai?!

Mio: C-can we start now? *Blessed giggles.

Zeno: Of course we can, now only if Foxy-senpai stops giggling to herself and send us the code.

Fubuki: A-ah! S-sorry, I'll send it over... Right... Now!

Zeno: Yatta, now it's time for some ghost hunting!

Zeno situated himself and narrowed his eyes at the screen.

'Prison? I see' Zeno thought while listening to Fubuki and Matsuri go on and on about not leaving one behind. Zeno chuckled at them.

"Alright! So our subject name is John, likes to be alone and are shy when there are multiple people around." Silence followed after Zeno read the description.

Everyone then simultaneously turned to Matsuri.

"E-eh? Why are you all looking at me? O-oi! I'm not going in there, and be with the ghost alone!" Matsuri yelled and indignantly refused to go.

Mio laughed, while Fubuki and Zeno sighed. Zeno who was staring at the flashlights suddenly had a plan.

"Ne, Matsuri-senpai~" Zeno called out in a sing-song tone, unknowingly making Matsuri shudder.

"H-hai?!" Zeno snickered and felt bad for what he was about to do.

"Isn't it just a ghost?" Zeno asked while Fubuki and Mio watched in amusement.

"Whaddaya mean 'its just a ghost'?!" Matsuri, who was on the other end, narrowed her eyes at Zeno's character.

'Hook...'

"But aren't you supposed to be God? Should God be afraid of some puny ghosts?"

"A-ah! Y-you're right! I'm God, I should be able to deal with ghosts." Fubuki and Mio gaped at the side at how Zeno leads Matsuri to go along with him.

'Line...'

"Then what are you afraid for? You can do it Matsuri-senpai!" Zeno did a little cheer at the end.

"Yes, I must show my kouhai how I deal with ghosts!" Matsuri pumped her fist in the air at that.

"Then you'll be the one going in and calling out for John later ne?"

"Yes, I will do it-- wait!" It was then that Matsuri felt something wrong.

'Sinker...' Zeno smirked victoriously.

"Too late, I have Foxy-senpai and Mio-senpai as witnesses. You can't go back on your words." Matsuri cried crocodile tears when she realized what just transpired.

"That was... Impressive, but also scary." Mio remarked at how Zeno dealt with the situation. Fubuki hummed in agreement.

"Yosh! Let's go and set up our camera and equipment then." Everyone nodded and took what is necessary to find where the ghost is.

It took them a few minutes before they were able to find the room where the location of the ghost is supposedly at.

Settling the camera, they went back to the truck/van, before examining the video feedback.

"Do you see that glowing light ball? No? Must be my imagination then." Zeno said while staring at the screen in confusion.

"Eh, oh yeah, there it is. I see it now." Fubuki then agreed to his earlier statement.

"So Ghost Orb check. We can check off Wraith, Spirit, Revenant, Oni, Demon, and lastly Banshee. All we have left is Jinn, Poltergeist, Yurei, Mare, Phantom, and Shade." Zeno listed those off before grabbing the Thermostat and the Book.

Fubuki grabbed the UV Light, then the Smudge Sticks. Mio on the other hand grabbed the EMF reader as well as a Camera.

Matsuri was handed the Spirit Box because of what she said earlier.

"Alright, let's go in." One by one, they re-entered the prison and went towards the room where the video camera is placed.

Taking a deep breath before entering a room, Zeno was taken aback when a book was thrown at his face.

"MAMA MIA!" Zeno.

"Kyahhh!!" Mio and Matsuri.

"What happened?" Fubuki.

"Goddamn ghost threw a book at my face the moment I entered. Fubuki checks the room for any Fingerprints if there are. I have a hunch on what type of ghost this is." Fubuki nodded and entered with everyone.

They checked the temperature, only to find it normal. The EMF level was also a bit low, not reaching 5.

"Ah! There is a fingerprint!" Fubuki exclaimed while looking at the door and the door frame.

"Alright, I know what we are dealing with now. Everyone, out!" Matsuri who heard that immediately squealed in delight before rushing out first, followed by Mio.

Fubuki chuckled at their frightened appearance before rushing out as well.

When Zeno was about to go out. The door was suddenly slammed shut.

"Shit." Zeno deadpanned at the locked door, before going towards the furthest corner of the room.

"Alright, ghosty-yo. Wanna play catch? Let's fucking play catch!" Zeno yelled while holding the Spirit Box Matsuri left behind.

"Play!" Zeno shuddered when a voice came out of it.

"Yep, definitely a Poltergeist." Zeno muttered.

"E-eh?! Zeno-san?!" Fubuki immediately noticed what happened and shouted in worry.

"Serves you right, you scheming little kouhai." Matsuri smirked and laughed.

Mio on the other hand was stuck between being concerned or laughing at Matsuri's statement.

"I'll be fine, the ghost is a Poltergeist by the way. You guys go and leave first, me and my buddy John, will play dodge ball for a bit." Zeno said while dodging a book thrown at him. He caught the book and threw it back right after.

"Yeet!" Zeno then chucked the Spirit Box at the ghost before rushing towards the other exit.

"NIGERUNDAYOOO!!"

Zeno reached it before the Poltergeist gets to him and opened it.

He was then met with the face of Fubuki's character, making him scream, a scream that he shouldn't be able to reach.

"AHHHHHH!"

"AHHHHHH!"

Both Fubuki and Zeno screamed, before looking back at the room, only to find the ghost basically a few meters from Zeno. They let out another scream before running out of there.

"What the hell are you doing there Foxy-senpai?!" Zeno asked/shouted at Fubuki while booking it.

"I thought that I could help you okay?!" Fubuki shouted back.

"Well, you didn't! And I nearly had a heart attack!"

"Uwah! I was so scared of your face when you suddenly opened the door!"

"I was too!"

They made it back to the van/truck and found Mio and Matsuri laughing and wheezing.

"That Nigerundayo was perfect!" Matsuri said while calming herself down.

"The same thing that happened with Matsuri and Fubuki, happened with you two." Mio wheezed.

"L-let's just get this over with." Zeno tiredly remarked before taking a drink.

Everyone nodded and calmed down before finishing the task. After that, they kept playing for an hour before finally saying goodbyes and goodnights.

A lot of interesting things happened while they played, such as Zeno sacrificing himself to save both Mio and Matsuri.

Fubuki dying because Zeno pointed her in the wrong direction.

Matsuri mistakingly one of them as a ghost again.

Mio pleading for Zeno to come and help her.

As well as Zeno getting left behind and played tag, and hide and seek with a Banshee.

So all in all, it was an exciting night. Zeno smiled as everybody said goodbye. He stood up and stretched his body, before picking up a chuffing Freya.

"Heya girl, you hungry?" Scratching her chin, Freya chuffed at him twice.

"Alright, bedtime it is." Zeno laughed lightly before changing into sleepwear and hugging Freya with him to bed.

"Goodnight Freya..."
