Chapter 48 - [Descendant]

The room fell silent. We all were just sort of looking somewhere, but it was hard to decide where. The atmosphere was almost chilling, mixed with a healthy dose of awkwardness, and anticipation for what's to come. We weren't really prepared for something like this, we just hoped that our life would go back to normal, yet it seemed like the exact opposite was to come.

With all of us just looking, Meda suddenly stood up, and started walking away. Without even second-guessing my actions, I stood up from the floor, and grabbed her arm. She tried to free herself from my grasp, but this wasn't the type of grasp that was backed by muscle. She couldn't even take the next step.

"I have to," she said, "If I don't- you know."

"I do. That's why I won't let you go," I replied. We weren't even looking in each other's eyes.

"You're not making any sense, Danny. Let me go."

"No. No way," I said.

"You're making a mistake," she replied.

"I'm not. You are. And you know it."
