Chapter 117 - Battle of the Bridge

As the clouds blocked out the Sun, and the marching of the army shook the ground, my chest tightened. I knew we were in for quite the fight, and I knew we had to stand our ground. The key to success was within me, and everyone recognized that. They all turned to me, once they realized what was going on, and their eyes both were filled with anticipation, as well as a little bit of anxiety.

I looked at my right hand man and Caleb, they both knew what their job was, and within the second, they were already a few feet up in the air. Francis left for the south end, while Caleb scouted the north. In a few seconds they returned, and landed right in front of me. We were all standing in the exact middle of the bridge, so that we were in an optimal spot.

"North's clear," Caleb said, "Didn't notice anyone, but the town was awfully quiet."

"South's where the army is coming," Francis reported, "As for Cesare, he's probably on a boat, coming from the east."
