8. Atleast until daddy can.

''Holy Fuck...'' Ivy cussed as she stood up in a hurry only to bump her head onto the very reason of her scare.

''Ow...''

''Ow...''

Lyle and Ivy couldn't help that word from coming out as one held her head while the other held his forehead.

''Are you trying to kill me just because I heard you cussing? It shouldn't be that bad right?'' Lyle said, his forehead scrunched but that slight smile on his lips gave his serious facade away.

''I...''

Seeing her face turn back to that soft innocent one, Lyle couldn't help but say, ''Comeon. Are you going to continue with this act?''

Hearing his words, Ivy knew she fucked up so she dropped every act and just slumped in the bench.

''You know what, I agree with you. It's really tiring. Doing something I don't like. Fuck it. I'll just deal with everything as it comes.''

At this moment, Lyle felt that the person infront of him really did seem tired.

Actually, he had been here the whole time, and he had seen her as soon as she entered with her pups. She looked quite free with them. Those two pups could bring out the smile no one else in school could. Her eyes glistened with happiness.

Lyle didn't know what it was but he felt that he also wanted her to smile like that when she faced him. That pure smile that wasn't forced. He wanted those sparkling hazel eyes to look at him without having any of her guards up.

Lyle also slumped right next to her but what filled was just silence. However, it wasn't that awkward silence rather that comforting one. Both looked at the two pups playing with eachother in the distance.

After a long time, Lyle broke the comfortable silence in the air.

''Why do you have to feel tired? It's not like you can't do what you want. Just be yourself and you will be able to enjoy yourself.''

''I might be able to enjoy myself being me but that also brings harm to those I care about. Being 'me' is not a good thing for those around me. I don't want to be happy on the premise of my loved one's happiness. It's not worth it.'' Ivy had a soft smile as she continued, ''Being like this is also good. I don't have to worry about anything other than my grades. Anyway, it felt nice talking with you though I don't know why. I just hope you wouldn't sell me off. Chummy, Gummy, let's go back home.'' The two pups came running as soon as they heard their names beng called. Ivy was about to pick them up when Lyle held her hand.

''I promise I wouldn't tell a soul about this but I hope you can be yourself atleast when you are around me. I don't know what you experienced to become like this but I hope I can atleast make you feel relaxed.'' Lyle's eyes were sincere as he said those words seriously. After that, he bent down and picked up the pups and said, ''Chummy and Gummy, you have to take good care of your mommy alright? Atleast until daddy can.'' The second part of the sentence, Lyle murmured it n the ears of the pups only for them to hear.
