50. Wrinkles

''That's not true. I don't want to see you like this. I just want to see you smiling and being happy. You can do what ever that makes you happy. I don't want you to stop chasing your dreams. I don't want you to fall in the abyss created by my words. Words that I regret saying. I didn't mean any of it. I really didn't. People say words in anger are the inner feelings but beleive me, that's not the case. I really really mean it. It was nonsense spewed my my anger. I really, really regret it.'' Mrs Gracia said as more tears kept running down her face. It had become uncontrollable. Since the moment she heard Lyle talk about spherephobia, she understood the actual pain her daughter was going through. Others might just feel that it's because of the bet, but how could she as a mother, not understand what her daughter is thinking.

Ivy played the spherephobia card because she wanted balls to be kept away from her. She loved playing games so much that she doubted if she could stay away from it if she saw it. She wanted to make sure she would never touch a ball. And for that, it was mandatory to keep the ball away from her because she knew that staying away from ball by her own will is next to impossible.

This realization made the regret she felt surge to the top of her all time list. She never regretted anything more than saying those words. At this moment, no, not just this moment, but from the very start, she was thankful to Skylar. Had she not stopped her, Mrs Gracia was sure that the words she spoke after, would have been more hurtful.

''Mom... Why are you crying. You shouldn't cry. It looks bad and you would have wrinkles. See fine lines are already appearing on your face.'' Ivy said as she wiped her mother's tears with her sleeve.

''You... do you think I care about a little more fine lines?'' Mrs Gracia said with a little frustrated tone but it was clear that she had calmed down a lot.

''You don't but what if dad does. What if he finds a woman outside?''

''Hey don't push me under the bus. Honey I wouldn't. You know I love you and only you. Even if you have a face full of wrinkles, I wouldn't leave you.'' Mr Gracia said so fast as if he was afraid that his wife would really beleive those words his daughter said.

''What wrinkles. You have wrinkles. Your whole family has wrinkles. I don't. Now get lost.'' Mrs Gracia shouted at her husband when she heard his words.

''But honey... You are my family so does that mean you accept that you have a face full of wrinkles?'' Mr Gracia said innocently but one could already see that playful glint in his eyes.

''You... get lost. Right now.''
