Clearing The Town Off Monsters

"At last," Aroon sneered, "I began to doubt they were taking me lightly."

the system suddenly shifted the topic to the town,

"Stop talking about her like she is my girlfriend," Aroon said before stopping in his tracks. "How many monsters are there?"

"They killed half of them… that's a good achievement," he muttered before starting to run towards the nearby town. "I'll kill every monster then before going back to clear the dungeon."

the system said,

"I'm already doing that," Aroon shouted in a disgruntled tone while getting closer to the town's outer borders. "Where are they right now?"

the system played with him and he simply sneered.

"All of them indeed."

"And the monsters?"

"You won't stop calling her names old man," Aroon complained while arriving at the town's outer buildings.

Everything there looked similar to what his town had after the invasion of the monsters.

"Do they have a catalogue or a guide to follow?" he couldn't help but ask, "every single time they break into any town or city they do the same thing over and over again."

"You know a lot about these monsters, old man."

the system said,

"I bet you didn't read all that in a library or through some books, right?"

the system vaguely said and didn't explain further.

Aroon didn't need any guidance from the system to head into the direction of the center of the town.

Away from the fact that every single human town in the modern days were all built almost on the same design, he was also following the loud bangs of explosions and the distant roars of monsters.

That was where the main fight was, and also the fallens alongside that mecha.

"They are getting it hard."

As he got near the central zone of the town, he spotted hastily collected walls creating a weak and seemingly useless barricade in front of the monsters.

And on top of that many fallens were standing there alongside an eye-catching mecha.

"This town has more feelings than mine," he couldn't help but say that while killing his way through the monsters.

The words of the system changed the mood of Aroon to the worse. "Yeah… tell me about it," he deeply muttered while waving his sword in a fiercer way.

His deep anguish was resurfaced once again and his attacks started to show more force in them.

"Die you bastards!" he shouted in anger while taking a full circle all over the place.

Monster seemed to act on the impulse of killing humans from the first sigh, however for someone like him who had dealt with them first hand he knew better.

"I always dreamt of facing the one pulling the strings from the shadows," he said to himself while thinking back to his own devised theory.

These monsters were just pawns for a higher and surely far fiercer beings who kept themselves in the shadows while controlling everything.

And the system kept his silence and said nothing despite totally agreeing with his theory.

For those standing behind the weak walls, either fallens, ex-military personnel, or even the local police, watching that mecha with a strange backpack killing monsters like stomping over carcroches was fascinating.

And also mind blowing.

Aroon was moving all around without any pause. Killing, evading the tentacles and cutting them the next moment like he was born and trained his entire life to do this.

And that was something shocking to everyone watching him right now.

It didn't take half an hour to clear the monsters around the central block. And yet he didn't come to them but only raised his hand and motioned them to stay.

Then he moved.

"Just stop it, alright?" Aroon couldn't help but laugh while running towards the nearest gathering of monsters. "I still don't know her face, hell I don't know her name!"

"If I want girls then there is Cheryl back home. She is simply a beautiful star that no one would doubt for her to be a successful model if the world didn't come to an end, or even better. She can go and aim to be an actress."

"You are hopeless," Aroon reached the next group of monsters and started massacring them like killing flies.

The monsters were dispersed, weak, unorganized, and for sure they weren't prepared to face him. Everywhere he went he landed on top of their heads like thunder, and killed them swiftly in a couple of minutes before running off to another location.

And he simply kept running all over the town until he finally killed all the monsters inside.

"Any news from the dungeon?" he asked while panting a little after all that run and killing.

the system said,

"Let them wait for longer," Aroon turned around and walked towards the direction of the center of the town. "Let's see what this chick looks like."
