CHAPTER 04

ACT 16

A Soldier rushed on his horse. He was holding his bloody shoulder and was gravely injured. He nearly bumped into the Villagers, who were going about their way. He was heading for the Empire palace. He almost hit the local palm wine tapper.

Palm wine tapper - Hey watch where you are going. You fool!

At the Blue Empire Palace...

The Grand Queen and her Grandsons were having lunch, when the messenger burst in the palace compound.

Grand Queen Zanlynne - What is the meaning of this nonsense? How dare you barge in on the Royal dinner?!

Blue Messenger - My apologies, Grand Queen. I bring news from the battle fields, your ladyship. Arrgh!

He collapsed on the floor.

Grand Queen Zanlynne - Very well. Someone fetch the healers. Princes you are excused.

The healers carried him away.

The Princes stood up from the mat, Kydin picked up a chicken leg and they both left. The Grand Queen looked at him sternly. The Queen went to the healer's hut not knowing the twins followed her.

Grand Queen Zanlynne - Now you may continue.

Blue Messenger - Yes my Grand Queen. I have distressing news. King Geteb and Queen Surline have fallen at battle. They are dead my Grand Queen.

The Grand Queen sat back down and held her chest in sorrow.

Grand Queen Zanlynne - May the goddess bless their souls.

Prince Tefon - What?

Prince Kydin - Mother and Father are gone?

She turned around and was surprised to see them there. She should have known they would follow her.

Grand Queen Zanlynne - My children it's okay.

Prince Kydin - No! It's not OK. It's never going to be OK. My parents are gone. And they're never coming back! I'll make those Reds pay bitterly! I promise.

He ran off crying. His twin Brother ran after him.

Grand Queen Zanlynne - Dear goddess have mercy on us.

ACT 17

Reolita, her Father and her Brother were still trekking to the next town. It was already in the mid afternoon. Reolita hadn't said a word all day.

Ricktin - Reolita darling, would you like to hear a story?

Reolita - No... Not really.

Ricktin - But you love stories. I know you'll love this one.

Reolita - I don't feel like hearing a story.

Ricktin - OK darling.

Reolita - Papa, what happens to people who die?

Ricktin - Are you sure you want me to tell you?

Reolita - Yes. I want to hear.

Ricktin - According to legends and stories, whenever people die and leave this world they are taken by demigods to the goddess herself for judgement.

Reolita - Who are demigods Papa?

Ricktin - They are Smaller versions of the goddess that are formed from her hair.

Reolita - Wow.

Ricktin - Amazing isn't it?

Reolita - The goddess is amazing.

Ricktin - The good people become beautiful stars in the sky. And they gleam and shine in the night sky. And whenever you look up there just know that your loved ones and ancestors are always watching over us.

Reolita - Like Mama?

Ricktin - Yes my darling like Mama.

Reolita - What of the bad people.

Ricktin - The bad people are turned into Dark clumps in the sky and thrown into the Dark infinite hole (Dark Hole). But don't worry your my adorable beautiful baby girl and I'm sure the goddess loves you too.

Reolita - Thank you Papa.

Ricktin - Don't worry we are almost at the Village. Hopefully we'll get a place to stay for the night. It's almost evening. Let's hurry.

They saw two Red vigilante. One man and woman holding spears. They were checked and allowed to enter the Village.

ACT 18

Kydin didn't take the news of his parents death very well at all. He began throwing tantrums and breaking things in the palace. The maids tried to calm him down but he threatened to throw them into the Dark forest. Tefon his twin Brother entered into his chambers.

Prince Tefon - Kydin. Stop this! You are scaring everyone.

Prince Kydin - Leave me alone. It's their fault my parents are gone. I begged Mother and Father not to leave but they did.

He broke down crying. Tefon hugged him close. He also began to cry.

Prince Tefon - I miss them too. It's okay. They had to fulfill their duties as King and Queen. It's okay.

Kydin stood up roughly.

Prince Kydin - No! It's not okay. I'll make those Reds pay. I swear it.

He walked out of his room leaving Tefon feeling worried.

ACT 19

The sun was setting when they reached the Village. It was getting Dark and they needed to find somewhere to sleep. It had been a 4 days journey on Land and boat and they were exhausted. Soon they entered into the market place. A lot of people were going to their various houses for the night.

Khana was a remote Red Village, surrounded by a large river, which was 5 Villages away from the Red Empire kingdom but it would have to do. But they were very few Inns. And they were all filled. Her Father checked all the places he could but there were no rooms. And the people were very skeptical of strangers and confined them to the Inns.

Ricktin - This is serious oh. All the Inns are filled up. Must be the people from destroyed nearby Villages.

Reolita - What do we do Papa I'm hungry. And I'm tired.

Ricktin - Don't worry it'll be fine I'm here for you OK?

Reolita - OK Papa.

Ricktin - That's the spirit. I'll all be fine.

But 2 more hours had passed and they still couldn't find a place to settle down. And they were at the edge of the Village already. They had seen people they knew on the way from their former homes. At the edge of the Village at the other side of the river near the forest they saw an old abandoned house near the stream. They stopped in front of the place.

Reolita - I don't want to stay at this place. It looks like something is hiding there.

Ricktin - We have no choice we'll just have to make it look good and we'll manage it dear.

Reolita didn't like this at all.

Reolita - OK Papa.

Her Father built the tent again. They ate dinner and rested for the night.

ACT 20

The next day...

The King and Queens bodies were brought back home and burial rights were to begin. People came to mourn with the Royal family. Everyone was wearing Dark with little to no accessories. The Chiefs came to give condolences to the Grand Queen. The Grand Queen was heartbroken. Her only son and his wife were dead.

Chief 1 - Your Highness. I have come to you with my condolences. I'm sorry for your loss. It's a loss to the entire Blue kingdom.

Grand Queen Zanlynne - Thank you. May their souls be at peace.

Lady 1 - How are the Princes doing?

Grand Queen Zanlynne - Kydin isn't taking it too well.

Lady 1 - I understand he is just a little child. The goddess won't let such a thing happen again.

Grand Queen Zanlynne - By her mercy.

Meanwhile in the Princes chambers...

Tefon was asleep while Kydin was glaring at the wall in pain and anger.

Prince Kydin - I'll make them all pay! I swear it.
