Visitation

Andre stood rooted at the door of the operating theater, his eyes glued to the red light lit up at the entrance.

It was as though a huge stone was pressing down on his heart, rendering him unable to breathe.

After some time, the door to the operating theater finally opened!

Andre wanted to walk forward to ask the doctor about Layla's condition, but he realized that his two legs had become a little numb from standing for too long.

"The surgery was very successful, but whether the patient can survive will still depend on her…" The doctor took off his mask and said to Andre, who had been waiting for a long time.

Before the doctor could finish speaking, Andre grabbed the doctor's arm nervously and asked anxiously, "How could this be?"

The doctor explained everything to Andre, but he could not hear anything right now. His entire mind was filled with the doctor's words, "…will still depend on her."

"Aren't you the best doctor here?" Andre demanded angrily.

"I've tried my best. Like you, I hope the patient will wake up," the doctor sighed helplessly and turned to leave.

After a while, Andre uttered slowly, "No, you're different from me. You don't understand how important she is to me at all. I haven't even had the chance to tell her my feelings. Moreover, I hurt her with that kind of attitude this morning…"

Andrew hugged his head and squatted down slowly. Helplessness, regret, hatred, and unease rolled around in his heart.

Ding… The door to the operating theater opened again. When Andre looked up, he saw Layla being pushed out on a hospital bed.

Andre got up hurriedly and walked to her bedside, pushing her into the ward together with the nurse.

Andre stood quietly in front of the bed and grasped Layla's hand tightly. The area where she was injured had been wrapped in layers of white gauze.

Her original bright red lips had turned pale, and an energetic young girl was now lying motionlessly and quietly on a hospital bed.

"Layla, I'm sorry… Can you wake up, please?" Feeling helpless, he pressed Layla's hand firmly against his forehead and prayed to God repeatedly. Please let her wake up.

Just like that, Andre stayed silently by Layla's side the whole time. The scenery outside the window gradually changed from sunset to hazy moonlight.

At that moment, someone knocked on the door of the ward. Before Andre could say 'please enter', the door opened.

Catherine was wearing a seductive tight-fitting dress. The deep V in front of her chest accentuated her full, fair breasts.

The tight-fitting dress made her butt look even more lifted, and she was also holding a small handbag that matched the outfit perfectly.

One look and one could tell that Catherine's outfit and exquisite makeup had been specifically designed by someone.

Andre looked coldly at Catherine, who was all smiles and twisting her slender, supple waist over to get close to him. There was no unnecessary expression on his face, but his heart was burning with towering rage.

Today, Andre had initially planned to take Layla to meet Catherine at the Brian Manor. It was already long past the agreed time, but Catherine had not made any call or enquired Andre about it either.

And now, Catherine was dressed gorgeously like so and had accurately appeared in this nearby hospital that Rhode had chosen at random.

Without saying a word, Andre looked at Catherine. He stood up and took a step forward to stand in front of Layla's hospital bed. He had an aura like he was protecting Layla and facing off against Catherine.

Upon seeing this subconscious little action of Andre's, Catherine's red lips curled up in a mocking smile. It seemed like her younger brother was really concerned about this little sl*t.

"What's wrong, my good little brother? When I heard that something had happened to your little assistant today, I was especially worried. I pushed aside the other matters in the gang and came all the way here to visit out of goodwill. Why aren't you even greeting me?"

Catherine walked seductively to Andre's side and was about to press herself against his body.

Upon seeing Catherine appear in the hospital accurately, although the results of Rhode's investigation were not out yet, Andre already had a definitive answer in his heart.
