Anthony was still dating Alice. Since the night with the drunk he had not behaved too badly. On his way to school that morning, he would call for his girlfriend. They would walk together hand in hand and this would give him the contact with goodness that he needed to get him through another day without beating up one of his annoying classmates.


It was an ordinary day and as he sat through his history lesson he gazed out of the window. It was difficult to concentrate on anything that the teacher was saying. Despite the contact with his mother, before he left home, and Alice earlier, he was restless. Watching the clock, he was desperate to get out of the classroom.
