Chapter 52

Hannah, Jane and Edward were stood in a park about two hundred miles from the cottage by the sea. It was a cool evening and Jane had thought to bring a flask with some hot coffee. Hannah searched in her handbag and found the packet of biscuits that she had brought as her contribution. Edward had the brandy.

They were gathered ready to speak the words of the summoning spell. An elderly man had been murdered on the spot where they now stood. They were calling the demon who had committed this atrocity and the next day he would be there with the other male members of his family.

Edward had returned to his beautiful Georgian house, but was a frequent visitor to the village on the coast. Hannah had, some thought rather oddly, moved into the cottage where the murders had taken place. The, blood soaked, carpets were gone, and one would ever know that it had been the site of a demonic showdown.
