Jungwoo came back after getting some drinks and placed them on the table. He noticed Naeun getting fidgety in her chair so he tilted his head narrowing his eyes.
"Is something bothering you?" He asked softly.
He turned to look towards where she was looking and found a group of people entering the hall.
"That is my stepfather and the woman beside him is probably another girl he brought along with him."
Jungwoo chuckled, "Oh! Should I call them over?"
He was about to raise his hand but Naeun grabbed it quickly and brought it back on the table.
"Stop it, idiot."
Jungwoo started talking again but Naeun's attention was again occupied with the man she had seen before. He was now staring straight at her. The man raised his glass, winking, and walked out the hall. Naeun took this as a signal and stood up too.
"Where are you going?" Jungwoo asked.
"I suddenly feel sleepy," Naeun tried to yawn. "So I'm going to go and wash my face. Be back in a bit."
"You mean along with all that makeup?" He questioned, raising his eyebrows.
"It's waterproof." Naeun winked and walked off towards where the guy had gone. She found herself in a hallway surrounded by many rooms. She started walking slowly, closely examining her surroundings.
"I hear your footsteps. It's good that you decided to come here."
Naeun stopped. "Where are you?"
No answer came and she finally stumbled onto a room with its lights on. It was quite luxurious. She saw the same man sitting there, with a leg over leg and arms spread on the couch.
"Who are you?" Naeun asked.
"You mean to say you don't know me?" The man asked chuckling.
"Unless you are Batman or Superman or even The President Of Korea, I don't care"
The man started laughing and looked amused. Naeun walked closer to where he was sitting and placed a hand on his wide shoulders. She took out her gun from the cut in her dress, which she had been given by the fighting department, as a token for joining the gang. She placed the gun at his forehead and again asked but in a serious voice,
"Who are you?"
The man kept on sitting calmly looking unfazed like a gun wasn't placed on his forehead. Naeun got confused but the man suddenly flipped her hand over, knocking the gun out of her hand. She was now sitting beside him with a gun on HER head. This all happened within 2 seconds.
"We can talk without being violent. Guns are noisy things aren't they?"
Naeun got to know that he wasn't a normal fellow to mess with. He was professional. She forced his arm away from her and got up. It amazed the man that she could do that.
"Fine. Do you want a peaceful talk? Talk."
"My name is Jung Mark."
Naeun looked into his eyes and found he was telling the truth. She also analyzed his identity within a glance.
"Correct me If I'm wrong, but you're the current leader of Dark Monarch. The most feared gang in Japan."
"So you do know me?"
Naeun had been studying Mafia groups these days and that is how she came to know about him.
"But we have never met before." She said.
"True."
"Then how do we have an association?"
The guy chuckled before getting up and replying,
"Forgot the guy you were supposed to marry?"
