Naeun and Mark turned to see where the voice came from. Then they both gulped. Near the door stood Taehyun. Naeun didn't need to look into his eyes to see what he was thinking. Anger and Fury were both bursting through his eyes making the veins in his arm pop. His dark black eyes were looking deadly into Mark's.
Mark whistled but inside he was wishing he could dig a hole and hide until Taehyun left.
Naeun sensed Taehyun was mad with her too and the reason was as clear as water. Taehyun walked towards Mark slowly and in fright, he released Harin's arm from his grip.
"Oh, the big man's here!" Exclaimed Mark.
"Taehyun this is my matter, I can handle it..." Naeun said.
Mark sensed how casually she said Taehyun's name and realized who she was.
"Wait so you are the rumored 'princess' the whole underworld is buzzing with?"
"She is," Taehyun replied. "And I don't like it when somebody upsets the princess."
He walked towards Mark who walked forwards too. Mark was older than Taehyun but Taehyun was the tallest. So generally he was the one looming over him.
"Sorry to upset the princess then."
"Stay in your limits then, Mr. Jung."
"I hear a challenge in your voice."
Taehyun chuckled a little before replying, "I don't compete..."
"I dominate."
Taehyun reminded Mark that his gang was only famous and powerful in Japan. Mark might rule Japan but he was standing in Korea now which was Taehyun's territory. Mark looked down.
"We are here at a party, let's not ruin the mood."
He walked past Taehyun, but on his way outside whispered in Naeun's ears, "Until next time."
Naeun wasted no time in rushing past Taehyun and hugging Harin tightly.
"I'm so sorry for burdening you with my mistake."
Harin broke the hug and shook her head.
"It's ok sis. I'm glad that you aren't in my place. He's a monster but I also have some skills hidden behind my back. I can bear it. I have to leave now. He must be waiting for me."
Harin was now part of Dark Monarch so it was natural she needed to be with Mark all the time. Naeun felt bad for her and didn't notice that only Taehyun and her were left in the room. And judging Taehyun's expression, it was going to be a long night.
During that, Jungwoo had gone and sat in his limo waiting for Taehyun and Naeun. But when there was no sign of them, he decided to call Jaemin.
"What's wrong?" Jaemin asked knowing the younger was frustrated.
"I just left the party and there is no sign of Taehyun and Naeun. I was bored as hell alone."
"Don't worry about Taehyun and Naeun. They'll be ok. And you could've talked with Taehyun's family members. They were there too."
"You know I don't get along with them. The one thing I hate the most-"
"Chill little bro, I know you hate being left out."
Jungwoo cut the call after saying he was going to come home soon and then ordered the driver angrily to start driving. He was feeling worried for Taehyun but the real cause of his frustration was getting denied continuously by himself.
At The Hotel,
Naeun was looking at Taehyun confused. He had dragged her to a hotel room without uttering a single word. And he looked...angry? She couldn't figure out the cause of his anger no matter how much she tried. Naeun had never seen him this angry. He was always very caring towards her but this time she knew the end had finally come when she looked into his eyes.
"Why did you follow him?" He asked after staring at her for 5 minutes.
"I thought his face seemed familiar. That's why."
"It could've been dangerous! Why did you go there alone?"
"Why are you so angry? It isn't like I did something wrong, I'm strong enough to protect myself."
Taehyun walked towards her but Naeun didn't lower her eyes from his intense stare even then. She wasn't taught to lower her eyes in front of anybody.
"What could you have done if I hadn't arrived in time? Do you have any idea how worried I was?" He whispered, his breath mixing with hers.
Naeun's eyes softened and the whole night was spent, like she predicted, in calming down the fiery lion that was awoken in Taehyun because of the jealousy and worry. But even with Naeun's power, she could never have seen what Taehyun felt because she didn't love him to that extent yet. The question that arose in her every time was, Will she?
Taehyun woke up and the first think he saw was Naeun lying beside him. He smiled seeing her and glanced at the time on his phone. No matter how much he wanted to stay with her, he knew he had many meetings to go to. He slowly removed Naeun's arms from around his waist and carefully placed the pillow beneath her head.
Then getting up Taehyun went to the bathroom and came back 10 minutes later dressed in his formal attire. He stood in front of the mirror to brush his hair and from the reflection he could see his princess sleeping peacefully on the bed.
He could stare at her all day but his work needed him urgently. Then placing a soft kiss on her forehead he departed the room closing the door softly behind him.
11:00 A.M.,
Naeun awoke and blinked her eyes, adjusting them to the sunlight. She glanced beside her seeing Taehyun missing. Naeun was shocked seeing she didn't realise when Taehyun left. She was always knew when somebody left the bed. How could she have not awoken when Taehyun left?
The only answer to this question was that Naeun always slept peacefully when she was around somebody she trusted. Her brain automatically shutted down when she trusted someone near her. Naeun brushed away this thought refusing to believe that she trusted Taehyun.
Then getting up she went to the bathroom and came out refreshed. She saw car keys on the side table so she picked them up assuming Taehyun must have left them for her. She the got out of the hotel room and headed for Lisa's house.
Naeun reached a cottage and got out of her car. The door was already opened as Lisa thought that everyone was nice in the world. Naeun smiled, shaking her head and entered the house. Lisa was cooking in the kitchen glancing at her cook book once in a while.
Naeun grabbed the coffee that was kept on the counter and strode off to the living room. When Lisa reached for the cup she found nothing. She glanced around and entering the living room found Naeun sipping her coffee.
"Naeun! How did you know where I lived?" She asked astonished.
"I even know where your grandparents used to live."
"Really? Where?" Lisa asked curiously.
Naeun had known that Lisa was homeless so she decided to find her and help her. When she tracked her location it showed a cottage under Lisa's name. That's how she found her.
"What are you up to these days?" Naeun asked examining the house.
"I'm continuing on going to college and I've decided to work part time too! Guess where?"
"No guesses." Naeun shrugged.
"The coffee shop where you used to work!"
Naeun smiled unconsciously. That was where she had met Taehyun the first time, not knowing he was a dangerous mafia. Back then things were so simple. At that time she thought Taehyun was a very cute and handsome man who knew nothing about the problems of life. Naeun sighed.
Lisa stared at her sadly and held her hands in hers.
"I know you are trying to be strong when you aren't. It must be painful to deal with all of this alone. Just know that I'm always here with you ok?"
Naeun nodded and suddenly stared feeling emotional. She was always taught to be strong so she had forgotten what being weak felt like.
"It's ok to cry sometimes." Lisa said softly.
Naeun shook her head. She might be Park Naeun but she was Agent 007 at the same time. And Agent 007 never cried since she was born.
"I'm not suffering any pain of any type so I have no desire to cry. Don't worry. Change the topic."
Lisa thought for a while and suddenly exclaimed, "Oh yeah! That Lee Jihoon came to meet me too."
"Ah really?...Wait...WHAT!?" Naeun screamed realizing that Jihoon was Agent 002.
"Yeah he realized that I don't have amnesia but let me go because I was your friend."
"Really? That was unusual of him." Naeun wondered aloud.
"He seemed worried about you."
"Me and Agent 002 are like-" Friends? She thought, but KIA hadn't allowed them to be friends. Agent weren't friends and they couldn't trust them no matter what.
"Are like associates. Partners." Naeun said after thinking.
"Maybe you partner-zoned him?"
Did I?
