When Rafe climbed the chain that dangled the cage Emma was stuck in, he didn't have much of a plan. Spur of the moment was how he rolled. The chain sank slower than he could climb, safety mechanisms in place barring it from plummeting at a break-neck rate.
Stupid safety-in-the-workplace rules.
Arriving at the top of the chain, he flipped onto the platform. Sitting heavy and bolted to the ground, the winch was manned by rather short-statured, goblinesque creatures, their warty green skin reminiscent of frogs on Earth. Not much of a challenge, and yet, Rafe still felt a pang of disappointment when they fled, and all because he'd said, "Hello." With a really wide smile.
Snicker.
