The kids follow Acrilla and Noah to look for Aqua and Donnie. The boat is nowhere to be seen. Nothing is out in the ocean, and they hear nothing except for the sounds of the seagulls. Emma and Calem become cold and tired after swimming so much tonight. They’re not used to doing this. “I’m not sure how much longer we can swim. We’re exhausted,” Calem says. Noah gives them both a hand by letting Calem and Emma ride on his back.
“Thanks, Noah,” Emma says.
Tyler looks around, and notices they are heading in the direction back to land. “I can see where we are,” he says. Tyler points at where the land looks familiar. They are back near Ponquogue Beach.
“It’s good to be back someplace we recognize,” Emma says. “But why are we here?” Noah swims close to shore and senses tracks on the sand.
“He may have picked up yours and the fishermen’s senses which means they can be anywhere,” Acrilla says.
