On the other hand, your mother spent most of her life in a psychiatric hospital, due to the evil and low instincts of her own father.
Edward tells Sofia:
- What I consider is that the decision your mother made to give you up for adoption was the healthiest thing to do. Because you were able to achieve the possibility of growing in an environment that allowed you to develop in an environment with many opportunities.
Sofia answers saying:
- To my biological mother, I cannot say that I love her, although sometimes, I feel that I experience a phase of love for her. But internally I am reluctant to maintain that feeling for her. Even though I knew her, I never treated her like my mother, since I never knew.
Edward continues his speech by saying:

Sofia immediately responds:
- At this moment I am really afraid of the reaction that Melissa might have, when she finds out that her mother is her grandfather's daughter and that her grandmother was raped by her own father and that she is also my sister. I don't even want to imagine what could happen to Melissa if she found out about that. Nor can I help feeling shame, disgust and a lot of hatred.
With tears in her eyes Sofia, she unburdened herself to her husband saying:
- When I imagine the sufferings that this lady surely experienced, for having been raped by her father, I truly feel compassion and I even feel the need to forgive her. Because I understand that she was not to blame for anything. I mean, She abandoned me because she wanted to protect me, even from herself. Since after I was born, she was triggered a psychotic break and was hospitalized for six months, but then she relapsed and they had to go back to hospital for a long time, with the diagnosis of schizophrenia.
Sofia spoke with immense pain and Edward in a very understanding way listened to her very carefully. - I cannot blame her for anything and less for having abandoned me -
Sofia narrated with tears in her eyes:
- My biological mother lived with me many years after she left the psychiatric hospital, where she was hospitalized for many years. She sought out my adoptive parents applying for work, just so she could have the opportunity to meet and be close to me.
