LUCY'S POV
"Hey Marcus," Aiden shifts his body weight.
"I was just hungry," I say. He asks Aiden to go out and sits beside me.
"I wanted to apologize," He says. I wonder what's wrong with him, he's almost like a teenage girl who has a mood-swing disorder.
"Wow...sure, "I say, raising both my eyebrows.
"Look, I said I'll treat you better. But people are questioning me why should I treat you better, why don't you pretend to be my girl for a while," He says.
He should be kidding me, was I a property he can toss around and play with however he wants. I realized that he doesn't bother what my feelings are, unlike Aiden.
"You know what? you can do something very easy. Just let me go," My voice had a sarcastic edge to it.
"Forget I asked you, rot here," He says and gets up. Maybe I had pushed him too far. It's not his fault that I ended up here, it was Ethan's and somehow mine too. It depends on how I think it is.
"Hey, wait," I call him, having no idea about what I would say.
"What?" He asks, colder.
"Will you let me out then?" I ask him, trying to do a potential bargain.
"Let's see about it," He smirks evilly and sits beside me.
He noticed a guy who looked similar to Aiden in attire walk into the kitchen. He leaned down and kissed me, sucking me hard as he could. He wrapped his hands around my waist and pulled me closer while a moan escaped my lips, making him grin. He pulls away.
It took me time to get back to my normal self. Not that I've never kissed anyone before, but this was sudden. Why would he kiss me when we had nothing between us. I knew he had something for me, but I told him what I felt.
"What was that?" I ask him, slightly blushing. I know I wasn't supposed to feel this. I love Ethan, and not him. I felt guilty, I hated him...not once I explored this possibility.
"Making people believe that you're my girlfriend," He shrugs.
"So, kissing me was an op-" I start saying when he pushes me down the table and kisses me again. His tongue explored the parts of my mouth, I try to push him, But the more I push, the more he pulls me towards him. He bites my lips as he pulls away.
"Marcus!" I scream at him
"You agreed to be my girlfriend Lucy!" Marcus clutches my dress as he pulls me closer.
"I don't feel comfortable," It was a half-lie. I felt more guilty and stupid to let him kiss me. I was supposed to try to get away from him, not bond with him.
"Let us see about that," He leans in again, but I run away this time. I run as far as my legs could take me. I decided to hide from him, well, it's not hard to hide in this place. I hide behind the stone pillar which was leading into a room that seemed to be locked.
"Lucy," I hear him sing-song my name. I felt like I had entered a horror movie where the hero chases to kiss you. Damn it.
I hear a tap on my back and I turn to face the guy who had appeared before Marcus kissed me the first time. He studied every part of my face and body.
"No wonder he wants to save you," He tells and drags me towards the place I ran from. I was glad in a way since I had started to wonder how to get back to my room. He slammed the door after pushing me into my room. I lock it and slump on the bed, thinking about today. I had a very long day, and it was more like a game I wouldn't dare to play.
I look at the clock, it was very late. I fall to bed and sleep, forgetting what happened today. As I lose consciousness, I felt glad for the first time in the week.
It felt like I never slept last night when Elena shook me and offered me my breakfast, closing the balcony. I wipe the strands of hair which was falling on my face and search for a rubber band. I open my purse and find one, I bite the band and pull my hair into a ponytail and tie it.
"Morning," I say, while the memories of yesterday rush back into my head, making me tired, even when I hadn't started my day yet.
"Mary told me that you were there to check on me yesterday," She smiles and checks my wounds. She looked glad, which meant that the wounds were healing.
"Yeah, I was worried," I bite into the omelette she had prepared and relish the parsley flavour. I had never tasted something like this before, and it was really good.
"It's so good," I say, making her blush. I wondered about what Aiden said to me last night, and I realised that I was the only person who was nice to Elena.
"I heard that Marcus and you are in a relationship," She shuffles her feet nervously. I stop eating and look at her face. This is what Marcus wanted, he teased me around and made people believe that I was hitting on him.
"Yeah..." I slowly murmured while eating the next bite.
"Good for you," She smiles and leaves the room, leaving me all alone. I grab the toothbrush and clean my teeth, my every effort to remove the trace of his tongue. I turn the water on and realised that it was in the shower mode, and I was wet with my clothes on.
"Shit, "I curse under my breath. Now I had to bathe right now. I grabbed pyjamas that weren't mine. I didn't know who the room belonged to, but it had everything a girl needs. I shower under the cold water and rinse my hair.
I walk out, helping myself with the hairdryer. The room was large, and I hadn't noticed that due to various things. I walk outside of the room and the halls looked empty except for the maids cleaning the ground floor. It looked like a marriage hall after the function was over, I couldn't find Aiden too.
Well, I never find him, he always crosses my path. I was bored, I was thinking of posting an Instagram live about how I was trapped in this place. I can get followers and some help at the same time, but I knew better. I plan to check Marcus room since I wondered what would he be doing when he's not annoying me.
But he wasn't there, I didn't know where Aiden lived in this huge place. I was feeling full and my mood was abruptly swinging. I plan to investigate his room, and for the first time ever, I happily grinned. I checked his wardrobe first, but there wasn't anything that could grab my interest.
I checked his drawers only to find a couple of empty perfume bottles. Seriously? who saves empty perfume bottles. There was only one thing that caught my attention. The Vault.
I didn't know what the password was, but I typed the usual number, 1234. It didn't work of course. I tried 4321, but it didn't work too. I didn't think Marcus had brains, all he knew was to threaten, kill, tease and abuse. I tried my birthday, 0108. It worked!
I couldn't believe my eyes, it worked! Maybe it was a mere coincidence. There was nothing much except few letters and a gun case. I picked up a letter and opened it. I knew it was very wrong, but I was curious about who would write a letter to Marcus.
Dear Marcy,
Perhaps you're still pissed at me, but don't bother I'll make you calm down. I recently had a bigger offer from the same city, but I really tried to get a job near you. Don't be pissed, I'll be moving far away from you. I didn't want to type emails, I just wanted to write it out. I really love you Marcy, and I'd do anything to stay next to you, you know that don't you?
-with love, Susan
Susan was my sister, well there are a lot of Susans in this world. I placed the letter back into the Vault, wondering who Susan was.
