Chapter Five: So called Leprechaun

I was sluggish and slow when I entered the club this afternoon, and I couldn't get any sleep after the shower.

It seemed that every time I closed my eyes and let unconsciousness take me under, I was met with his face or an identical version of him from a different time.

I woke up again later on this morning screaming in frustration. Strangely enough, the pain was from a battle I know I was never in, at least not around this time.

An arrow managed to Pierce through my shoulder; enraged and in first-person point of view, I had grabbed a golden spear, managing to impale three men in the head with one lucky strike. My war cry came after, which was so loud that it hurt my ears, hence another scream that woke me from my sleep.

I walked into the locker room, little bags under my eyes, lids drooping. " Jeez, Horus..." A girl walked past me, cringing. " Rough night?" She chuckled, which in turn, I flipped her a bird. " mind your fucking business." I snapped, watching her flench, leaving me to my attitude with a look on her face.

I took that time to calm my nerves, doing my makeup to get rid of the tired look on my face. I defined my red curls and put on a black and gold two-piece and some fishnet tights underneath, strapping up my heels just as the boss came in.

"Horus, your up next, knock 'en out. " she paused as she looked at me, her lips pursed. "Try and be nice." She had a troubled look on her face as she walked back out to the patrons.

I stood slowly as I started in the mirror, moisturizing my lips before leaving.

-

Tonight was another busy night; men both young and older watched the stage expectantly and eagerly as I peaked out before walking on.

I had the DJ change it up a bit; instead of hype and energetic, I felt the need to hypnotize my audience. I chose a slow but deep sultry vibe instead, swaying on par with the music.

With a slow roll of my hips, with slow and precise steps, I grabbed the pole and walked around it twice before walking down the stage steps into the crowd of watchers.

Boldly I stood on the table in front of the very one man I could tell has never been in a place like this before; I could smell it on his breath, for he had not even had a sip or a taste of alcohol. He swallowed nervously and looked down at his hands in his lap. I smirked, twisting my body seductively, using the platform of my shoe to lift his head by his chin with ease, my arms above my head.

His cheeks painted in his blush, I squatted down in his view, making sure he kept his eyes on me. " Don't be scared..." My voice came out loud and husky, lustful in its sound, reaching everyone's ears. " I don't bite... Hard." I purred before getting up and strolling back to the pole, climbing my way up.

I danced and moved as if there was a cloud over my mind, the dreams putting me in a realm of vibration I've never dared to venture.

But like all things, it came to an end just as quick as it had happened, leaving the stage to mingle with patrons.

It wasn't until I was tapped on the shoulder by my boss. " can I pull you to the side a moment?" She hissed at me while I stared at her in confusion. When we were away from prying eyes, she flashed a golden coin which looked worn and ancient. When she handed it to me, it flipped over, revealing the head, which kind of looked like the sun.

"Boss, who--"

"I was thinking the same thing, but he said he wanted a dance with you specifically." I gave her a strange look; it was weird. For one, I never did private dances because of my history and paranoia, but for someone to specifically call me out with a pure gold coin at that made me wonder.

" what do you want to do, Annie?" She asked as I started at the coin; the more I studied it, the more it seemed familiar to me. "If he's giving it golden coins, then I guess it couldn't hurt. It's an excellent start on getting out of town." I finally looked up at her, watching her nod.

"Okay, just don't do anything I wouldn't." She backed away from me slowly, and again; I gave her a strange look.

"Of all people, you're telling me that." I questioned, wondering what the fuck was going on. She sighed before she turned her back to me, looking over her shoulder at me. "Any other time, I wouldn't say a thing, but you seem different tonight. He's in Room five. Seriously, be careful." She said before disappearing from my view.

I stared at the coin, turning it over in my hands before I made my way to room five.

-

The room was black and dark with red lights that gave a lustful feel. I had closed the door behind me, slipping the coin under my breast as I entered. " We meet again, Lassie?" The voice came from the dark, and for a moment, it felt like golden eyes were peering up at me, but when I blinked, they disappeared

When my eyes adjusted, I saw that it was bar-brawler, dressed in a pair of black slack-like pants, a clean wife-beater tank, and a black distressed jean jacket with pure gold buttons at the cuffs.

His mohawk was cleaned up slightly but not any less wild, and his facial hair was less scruffy.

Whatever expression I had before fell into a scowl, and I scoffed, folding my arm across my chest.

"Oh come now, why ya face all twisted up?" He chuckled and motioned for me to come closer. There was a low table a foot in front of him, so I walked over and sat as far as the table would let me sit.

I stared at him a moment before fishing under my breast for the coin, flicking it at him. He caught it with ease and then flicked it up into the air, but it never came back down. I then said the name that I screamed in my dreams.

"Lugh." I watched him closely, seeing his entire demeanor shift, his eyes flickering to me. The drink he had in his hand he out on the table next to me, shock changing his features.

"How'd ya know that name...?" His voice came out gruff, and husky and what was once shock turned into something else. It was primal, lustful almost; it burned like the sun in his eyes as he stared me down.

"I don't know; I screamed it in a dream." I grabbed the glass with his southern comfort mix and took a gulp, looking away from his intense stare. He grabbed the drink from my hand and placed it next to me again, turning my face to look at him.

" what dream, lass?" He tilted his head, his expression blank, but his eyes showed me he was troubled. "I kept seeing you... Or a person who looked like you in a different time period." I started drowning in the memory of the dream. " he had long red hair in a braid, his aim with the spear was stupendous....his eyes glowed gold, and he held the head of Silver tongue." I then looked at him as I said the rest. "I was there... Fighting right alongside him, or... At least from the point of view, I saw things."

I watched his expression harden, and he closed his eyes before he started up at the ceiling. He started speaking in a language that sounded harsh on the tongue and to the ears, but strangely enough, I felt like I knew what he was saying.

"In another one, we were among the dead's final resting place... I let you touch me in places I wouldn't let anyone else... " my eyes blurred with tears of anger as I stared him down, seeing him shift uncomfortably under my gaze. " I said your name... Like it was the only thing I've known... Screamed it as if it gave me life..." I hadn't even realized that I grabbed the glass, but hearing it shatter brought me out of my anger and to the gas shares glittering on my palms.

I found it strange that I didn't bleed, but it was something to think about later. His eyes seemed to churn as he stared at me, his gaze slowly taking in my attire, and as if I hadn't said anything at all, he smiled. "I'm sure it's just a dream. Though, I must say, yer performance out the on the stage was somethin' I haven't seen in a very long time." He grabbed my hand and began to brush the glass from my palms, holding my hand far longer than I would have liked.

I yanked my hand away and glared, needing to ask the one question that made sense here. "Enough of the fuckery. What the fuck are you?" I snapped, crossing my leg over the other, curling my fingers into fists.

He just chucked, looking up just as the coin he flicked up earlier came back down, catching it. "I'm a leprechaun."
