Chapter Ten: We's goes both ways

After the whole fiasco, we made out way down to Jack's Crocodile Bar; patrons packed to the brim of the bar.

It must have been my lucky day when I glanced over at the usual table, Silver-Tongue and few others, including a beautiful woman, sat almost as if they had been waiting for me to arrive.

*who am I fucking kidding? It was me they're waiting for.*

"Whatever ya do, don't attack Wednesday again." He grabbed me by the arm as we walked over to the bar, Jack in the process of taking another person's order as we walked up. She looked up at me and smiled, her eyes flickering to big red and the down to me. She gave me a look that told me it all; I would have an ear full when business calmed down.

"Hello, to you too, Jack." I flicked my tongue out at her, watching her roll her eyes in exasperation.

"Come off it and get your ass behind the bar." She glared at Lug, and her lips turned down in a deep-set frown. Bar-Brawler then grabbed my arm, turning me to face him. "Oh, by the way, The name is Mad Sweeney. " he leaned forward and brushed his lips over my forehead, squeezing my arm before walking to the end of the bar, lighting a cigarette in the process.

I didn't bother walking around the bar; I completely jumped the counter like usual, kissing Jack's cheek. "It's busy tonight, isn't it?" I looked about the bar, my gaze colliding with Silver-Tongue's. I then looked over at the woman, feeling oddly drawn to her.

" you slept with him, didn't you?" Jack asked suddenly, causing me to choke on my saliva. I turned to her, sputtering. " Are you fucking kidding me? Silver-Tongue?! Hello no!" I hissed, annoyed that she would even suggest or even ask such a thing. She started at me for a moment like I had grown two heads. "Silv--what?! Oh, darlin', I definitely wasn't asking about him." Her eyes got wide while she cast her gaze downwards.

"I meant Big-red you came in with." I choked again, thinking back to the dream again, shaking my head. "Not even close. He's just protective." I grabbed the Gin bottle, taking a drink from it. "Ask me another stupid question, and I'm gonna give you a lap dance." I gave her a knowing look, watching her face turn red in embarrassment. "Alright, I'll stop prying; just keep your ass to yourself." She lightly whacked me with her bar towel, my eyes sparkling in amusement. "Oh?" I bent over a bit, wiggling my hips side to side to give my rump some jiggle.

Her face grew darker in shade as she whacked me again with a laugh this time.

"Alright, Alright!" She laughed, bolting past me and out the back door. I watched her form disappear with a smile of my own, feeling a hand touch mine. It was dainty and soft, a little too warm. I turned my attention to see the woman sitting at the table earlier. I glared, yanking my hand away.

" Don't touch me again." She blinked twice, looking at me in confusion. The confusion then turned to interest, and she leaned over the bar, staring at me.

"Interesting. I've never met anyone quite like you in my existence." She tilted her head, her eyes running down my body. I stared at her for a moment more before smirking. "You must be Bilquis." The moment my name left her mouth, she pulled back, watching me closely. " Have we met before?" She rested her chin on the palms of her hand, staring into my eyes.

I stared back just as calmly, noticing her Ethereal glow come to light. I smiled, her eyes burning like flaming embers, her skin glowed without a blemish in sight. She had a crown on her head that looked like golden branches. She was indeed a beautiful sight to see.

As my eyes wandered, so did hers, her lips slightly parted in shock. When I looked down at myself, I saw that mine was showing as well, stealing a glance over at Sweeney. He watched our interaction with beady golden eyes, the veins and muscles in his neck throbbing visibly. He was thoroughly pissed, clenching his bottle so tight that it shattered in his hand.

"No, I don't think we have. " I said finally, grabbing a cup, pouring her a glass of our Apothic blend.

I handed her her class, but not before I grabbed her chin, staring into her eyes knowingly. "It's was lovely to meet you, Bilquis. You can stop by anytime you'd like. " I blew her a kiss before grabbing a bottle of Southern Comfort, sliding it down the counter towards Sweeney.

As she went about her way, I looked over at Sweeney, noticing his eyebrow was raised in question. I just placed my finger to my lips, winking.

******

Business slowed down after a while, the clock striking eleven forty-five on the wall. I had decided then to entertain Sweeney's madness, stealing his bottle, drinking it. "Oie, never mess with a man's drink." He snatched the bottle back from me before I could finish it off. I snorted, looking away, staring off into the crowd of people.

"Ya know, yer a handful in this life. " he leaned forward, getting my attention. I rolled my eyes and glared at him, curling my fingers into a fist. " I have a reason to be as such. This life ain't do anything good for me." I faced him, my eyes darting to his lips.

Even though I was in the process of rediscovering my true self, I kept only as close as I needed to be with Sweeney. It was undeniable that he and I have been paired for a very long time; the connection was strong; I just had to let go of my pride...I had so much of it.

He watched me as I struggled with myself for a moment, grabbing my chin, making me look at him. "Fuck it." His lips slammed down onto mine, causing me to stiffen. I grabbed the front of his shirt, tugging him closer, unveiling as I moved my lips against his.

When I had managed to pull away for air, I slapped him, glaring daggers of ice. "Fuckin' he'll, women!" He touched his cheek as he moved back, his eyes darkening. "I thought we were past the violence, lassie." He smirked, folding his arms on top of the counter. I just started at him like he was an idiot.

"Ya make me want everythin' about yer very bein' even more. Don't hit me again, or I'll have yer round peach of an ass on this bar counter." His face grew hard, but the light in his eyes told me that he didn't care if we had an audience; our union was long overdue.

"I'd like to see you try, Lugh." I grinned like Cheshire, challenging him with my gaze. He gave a hardy laugh, smiling just like I had seen him in one of his memories. "Is that a challenge, Love?" He put a cigarette to his lips, letting his eyes do the talking. Heat began to rise in my stomach, and my arm hairs stood on end. My breathing became labored as we stayed locked in each other's gazes. "Ya bittin' yer lip now?" His voice became more profound and huskier as he leaned closer to me, watching me pull my bottom lip between my teeth.

I wasn't even trying to do it in a way to egg him on, I was just profoundly nervous.

"Well, look at you fucking Horny assholes." A new voice shattered the entire moment, and I jerked away from Sweeney, looking over at the obnoxious dickhead who decided to interrupt.

"Bugger off, Nancy," Sweeney swore, turning on his stool and starting at the man too well dressed for a rundown pub like this.

The one he called Nancy smiled his pearly whites, taking his hat off of his head, staring at me. "Well, hello there, queen." He bowed, never taking his eyes off of me. "Cocktail, please, if you will." Nancy leaned on the counter, starting over at the table with Silver-Tongue and Bilquis.

I went to make his drink without a fuss; when I came back, he had a condescending grin on his face, his eyes flickering from me to Sweeney.

"It's funny that you would fuck a man that can change your luck, Queen." I choked on my breath, glaring at him. "I haven't touched him yet." I placed the drink in front of him, watching him take a sip. "Your lying." A different accent took his voice, west African descent. He was angry, but I didn't know what for. " You two have been fucking for thousands of years, you just don't remember it all." Nancy threw the rest of his drink back and leaned forward. "Let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, the Moon of Egypt and the earth of Greece, unlikely pairs, came into union. The fucking End." He was looking pointedly at me, placing his hat on his head, winking. "Be safe now." He turned and walked away.

I blinked and turned my attention to Sweeney, his face unreadable as he stared at me. "Bullocks."
