Aftermath

So many near-death experiences. I shifted around to find out that I was naked again. That's not nice. My clothes were most likely soaked in blood. "Please put on your clothes," Brian said pointing to the messy pile on the side.

He even had time to wash and dry my clothes. "You'd make a great housewife," I said teasing him. He groaned. I put the clothes on under my blanket and got out of it putting on my coat. "I guess it's that time again." He said standing up. We took two extra lion coats and left after eating some tiger meat that tasted really soft and juicy probably some of the best tasting meat I had ever had.

We carried two tigers worth of meat in a sack and went on the straight path. It's very hard to relax going through the woods. Almost as if you're constantly fearing for your life. I took in the blue and white cold forest. We had to make scarfs to make sure our lungs didn't freeze then fill up with blood. There were constant roars around the forest. With, every crunch of our steps I wished I had my old power so I could see everything about the forest.

"We should stop holding our breaths if a beast comes for us it's going to come for us and stressing isn't going to stop that," Brian said, sharing some wisdom that would've helped an hour ago. "He couldn't at least have given us our weapons?" I said with a sigh. "That would'v been helpful but would have defeated the entire point." Brian said.

The point of this training was most likely survival and tactical thinking. "You're right," I said, casting my look down. "I just feel like we're going to run into a sin-ranked beast any corner."

"I feel so anxious." Brian said taking a quick look around. "Let's run." I said pitching an idea.

He nodded. We picked up the pace. A smile spread across my face. The last time I had run like this was when Kyla died.

Tears were left behind me as the air itself disappeared in my wake making the air resistance go down to zero *SHRROOMM!!! The snow melted and turned to dust as I passed by. I looked over to fin Brian 40 meters behind me. With a smile on his face. Faster! KSSHH steam rose from my body FASTER FASTER FASTER!!! I tried stopping by putting my ankle sideways a trail of fire led in my wake.

I heaved and heaved my chest going up and down a trail of steam floated from my body. "Ha ha ha ha ha" I breathed in and out heavily. "I think you went too extreme." "Obviously," I said in-between breaths. "Great-pa's temple is gigantic if we can't see it now then we could be days or weeks possibly a month away from it."

5 weeks later…

Well, we have been facing some semi-difficult beasts so far. I wish I knew the ranking system for beasts I would've learned it by now since I would be in my second year if literally everything didn't go off the rails.

Speaking of off the rails that crowd of monkeys I avoided last week is chasing us now. "Sapphire! Get your head out of the clouds!" Brian yelled at me. How are we going to escape? "I'm about to get them all with my power! You're still going to have to kill them!"

He shouted. I nodded, and we stopped. Brian turned around and his eyes glowed green. He gave them a single-word command. "STOP!" Alright, his is where I come in. All the monkeys dropped to the ground and stopped swinging in the trees. They were blue with white bellies. Here comes my job. I ran through all of them, ripping them apart with the aid of my power.

I practically ran through them, even kicking one of the monkeys out into the sky. Splat splat splat. There was a crystal in every one of them. "GROOAAAR" This isn't good. A boss battle. A blue and white gorilla came out of nowhere. "I can't control it, Sapphire!" Brian said with a red face and drops of sweat coming from his face.

It charged towards me at breakneck speeds, "GGROAAOR!!" I dodged it using my footwork to sidestep almost like a phantom. I formed my hand into a blade and tried a piercing attack with my power on. "OW @#$% !" I curse as my fingers broke. I retreated in pain, but it just turned around. I guess I'll have to use the old style.

I had been refining my technique throughout the weeks. A blade sort of handshape then I would pierce through the creature's skin. This time, I let the gorilla charge towards me. "Come at me stupid monkey!"

It stood about six feet. What I'm about to do should be near, impossible, but I'm going to use a throwing technique. Hmm, funny, I can't remember where I saw this. Less than afoot away from myself I grabbed the gorilla's arms tightly I put it on my back threw it slightly up and twisted on its back-breaking its arms in the process. And in one quick motion put it flat on it's back. I fell on the ground immediately after He ran towards the gorilla and beat it to death with his fists.

"That was a horrible experience," I said wiping the sweat from my forehead. My body ached in places I didn't even know existed. "At least we have a lot of meat to eat." Brain said happily at the amount of food that could be preserved due to the cold. I glared at him. "Oh, yeah."

He put his hand out and I took it. I made a snowball and threw it at him. "So it's like that?" He said with a devious smile. Pa pa pa pa suddenly four snowballs hit me. "Hahaha." papa pa. I hit him back.

And then commenced an amazing snow battle. In the end, we tied.

After a quick bout of fun, we returned to our course. The sin-ranked creatures are probably in hibernation at this time of year. From the fact that not every single creature except the strongest haven't left they have to be hibernating.

We kept on the straight path. We walked for another 6 hours, then we set up camp. We didn't have enough time and resources to make a big tent. I could feel his body heat. It's so awkwaaarrrddd! Every.Single.Night! My face is so hot right now!
