War is coming

"Someone unimportant." He said staring into my eyes. Unimportant? I call a lie. "Is it unimportant or are you not telling me." I questioned further. He looked down and cursed. "I'll tell you at nighttime, I feel like we haven't told each other much about our early childhoods."

I smiled. "Of course." I ate the food on the plate eggs bacon and waffles. We talked for a hile then, "Sapphire, Brian, please come to the training hall." We walked to the training room. "Huh sure took your time, huh?" I giggled. He crouched his eyebrows and made a questioning face.

"So I brought you in for training." He handed us tablets they had training routines extreme ones. "So what was the point of training in the woods?" Brian asked. "To teach you how o kill beasts."

He nodded. But I have a question. "What are the different rankings of the beasts?"

"Normal, power, Virtue, dominion, throne, and Sin." I pumped my fist in victory. "You don't know how long I have been waiting for that!" Ryhem went to a box that had been sitting on the floor.

It was a large box. He pulled dual blades from it and threw them by their blades towards Brian.

"OOH These are light!" He threw them in the air twice spinning them around and catching them with two fingers. The blades had the signature blue and white rose on them with a metallic silver sheen to them. Ryhem tossed a larger sword at me around 36 inches, a thig-long sword with what I'd like to estimate a Virtue ranked core on it.

It looked like blue gems they looked like sapphires with a white high-quality cloth on the handle it was a curved blade. "Strange design to it. Why is it curved?" "Ah, that well it's been shown curved blades are better at cutting."

It was around 36 inches in height. I slice I through the air it made a whistling sound. "Here's the scabbard." A blue and white rose. It was decorated with detailed petals too. Brian got practically the exact same scabbard.

"Now attack me as fast as you can no holding back I won't move more than here." He drew circle around him with his finger. I groaned. If I can make him step back off it even a fraction of a centimeter…

"Go!" I got in my fighting stance crouching my knees and I put my curved sword in a horizontal position. I went towards him activating my power hoping my new sword didn't disintegrate. It didn't I hope I can find a way to channel it to things.

I lunged towards him he parried grabbing my sword with his bare hand and tossed me away Brian came up from behind him and attempted to stay him in the back but he just sidestepped and grabbed his wrist flinging him without hurting him. He slid on the floor.

"This is going to be hard."

I regrouped with Brian panting I layed down a plan. "We have to perfectly be in sync, you run towards it'll be a diversion then throw your knives and I'll rush him and go in for a stab."

He nodded. "Okay let's run it." He ran forward as fast as he could and threw his knives Ryhem defelcted them. Brian backed up I ran at full speed and used my footwork. I created a new skill.

Phantom step. I disappeared from sight, jumped in the air from behind him he tracked me with his eyes. Like he had all the time in the world to respond. It's like time moves slow to his eyes.

In two quick motions, he pushed my sword away, changing my direction and pushed my stomach, making me go flying the other way.

My sword fell from my hand. I ran over to hit. Another round lost. Our timing has to be better. "Let's go again," Brian said, walking up. Okay. I took deep breaths it takes less than a fourth of a second for him to react to our plan I need to narrow that down. Brian ran at his maximum speed. I put my hand on the hilt of my blade. As soon as the blades left his hand I came at max speed towards ryhem I pulled out my sword as soon as I was in contact with him.

It took me one entire second to activate the phantom step. An eternity. This time he slapped my blade away and flicked my forehead hard enough to send me back. "Oww," I said rubbing the red spot on my forehead. He cringed "Sorry." I waved it off. He sat with his legs crossed on the floor and took a while to think.

"Well, I have to say your chemistry is off the charts tell me how many times have you killed together?" "K- killed?" Brian stuttered. "I can tell when a team has killed together your chemistry is way too high both of you know each others top speed and limits, you also know techniques to kill." "But you're holding back. I want both of you to show me what it means to want to kill!"

I sighed. "Alright then." I got into my stance and shifted the blade to a more aerodynamically effective position. "Let's go together," I said to him. We went at Ryhem at the same time we sand wicked him I released all of my killing intent and got a 50% boost in strength.

I stabbed at the side of his ribs he once again tried slapping my blade but I grabbed his arm abandoning my weapon. I coiled around his arm and tried breaking it.

This my hurt. He shook me heavily and I flew off Brian got dodged then he spun around and knocked him away with a gentle push. We just got back up and tried again. I approached from the top he parried and used my own momentum to knock me over.

Again. I went from the top again tried fainting him and failed again. Brian went from his back but Ryhem fluidly dodged. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. "Stop that's enough." Ryhem said after 40 matches. I panted very hard. Drops of sweat came rolling down my face I planted myself on the ground in a star shape. "That's hopeless and I can tell you myself great-pa is way stronger than that."

It's still morning time too. We've an hour of rest then on to weapon training…

After an hour we regrouped in the training room…

"Get into your fighting stance," Ryhem said seriously. "That sword is for slashing not stabbing."

He said fixing my stance of pointing the sword forward holding it vertically down at an angle.

Apparently, Brian's stance was already perfect. "From when we were in combat I can tell you're self-taught and you are used to sabbing swords. Although I can tell you this sword is much more fitted to you than a stabbing sword."

"Now, I want to know. How do you know that fighting style? All of the books should have been burned to the ground along with everyone and everything related to it." I was shocked. "I don't know as you said I'm self-taught." I shrugged telling the truth. I feel like something is missing. Something important.

"Why is it so bad?" I asked wanting to learn more. "It's made specifically for human-hunting mercenary or serial killers for hire." Ooh That's pretty bad. "But almost every legendary assassin used it and it seems like you put something extra in there."

"I want you to understand that those moves will kill anyone if used properly. With the exception of me and some others."

"If the royals ever get wind of you using these techniques you'll be next on the chopping block." "That's all for this class." "I want both of you to be dressed in all black this next part is important."

After half an hour we regrouped what was with all of the commotions? Every part of the Ryhem family at breakfast was there. "As you all know, there is a war coming with the war country Gryza." WHAT!!! "The reason why is they want to take our land for themselves wars like these happen once every 50 or 60 years. Usually, they end with 40-50 million people dying. (The population of Fylar is about 1.5 billion and Gryza would be around 1 billion,)

In times like these the kingdom call upon the Ryhem's to do the thing, they're best at assassinations and intel. Gathering, we have been one of the major factors in winning almost every war and that will not change in this one!"

"YEAH!!!" "Some of you will be sent in spies one or two of you might die but in the end, we will come out on top!"
