Food

Once again. Even when I'm hurt, they don't have time to stay with me. Worse of all they forgot to roll Sapphire out. Sapphire had this look on her face. "I guess we have some time to get to know each other." She said deadpan. It was awkward.

"Uh, I guess I'll start, my name is Sapphire. My favorite color is blood red and my favorite food is chocolate cereal." "No last name?" I asked her. "Uh, ye-yeah." She seems insecure about it I won't judge her or mention it then. "My name is Loveleheim or Love which I prefer to be called. My favorite food is pasta and tomato sauce with sausages and my favorite color is viridian."

"So how did you survive?" I asked Sapphire curiously. She shuddered. "I had to kill a lot of people." She said with a visibly shaken and disturbed voice. Not really an answer…

"So after the professors, all disappeared, there were a lot of Lokust terrorists in the classroom so I had to kill them without a second thought it makes me wonder if what I did was really right. Maybe I could've figured another way out? I'm sure they had family's and friends people waiting for them to come back people that loved them people that wanted them to be happy people who wanted them to have another chance."

This is messed up. And sickening. We're just kids. We shouldn't have to go through this. It's not our fault the system isn't equal. In fact, I know exactly who to blame my parents. They have the ultimate say. They get to decide what happens not me not any of the kids who died nobody else just them.

All my friends are dead. What am I supposed to do now?

Sapphire…

They were living beings. I took their lives away from them. I took their second chance. I didn't know killing would feel this bad. But it felt natural like I've done it before. I've even had very violent and intense thoughts before. But why can't I remember why?

I even thought it was no fun without battle a couple of times. So what happened why do I feel so horrible? I already know why. What gives me the right to take another's life? I'm not God. I don't get to decide what happens to someone's life.

I feel like I'm suffocating I need to leave. "Are you okay?" I can barely breathe. What's going on? "SOMEONE HELP HER!!!" Loveleheim screamed at the top of her lungs. Suddenly doctors came busting through the doors.

They rolled my body in the wheelchair. My wounds started opening up. Moving had made the bleeding start up again. They put me in my bed again. I'm in intense pain. Have a panic attack at a time like this? But maybe I deserve it. I put all of those people in the dirt and now it's going to happen to me.

Wait a minute. When did I become pathetic? #$%# death. I took a gasp of air. I sat straight up. "What the hell?" One of the doctors said. "Eh, sorry doctors," I said apologizing. I was shaking while apologizing. The amount of scare in the doctor's voice.

I'm back, no depression, no suffering, no insomnia. Just plain me. I don't how many people died at my hands. I don't care if I'm covered in blood, sweat, and tears. They attacked me first, so I killed them.

I need to get my brother from my father. Something's wrong. I can feel it.

I need to find my brother. They sat me next to Brian, who looks like he's about to wake up. His eyes opened slowly. He looked over sleepily and smiled. "Hi, beautiful." I smiled back. "Good morning babe," I replied back to him. He looked surprised. "Isn't it crazy how many times we've almost died? I think it's about time we shied away from danger and settled down to have a normal teenage life."

"That sounds like a great idea, but it won't stay like that forever. We still have to fight in the next war," I said, a little sad. "Yeah, but if we could just stay away from danger… No killing, no fighting, just embracing our relationship and being happier than ever."

I was happy at the thought of it. "Yes, of course!" I replied, fully agreeing with him. "Sorry to interrupt, but we just got news of higher amounts of weapon production since this attack. Gryza has been anger as nobles have died and they are blaming our country."

Great-pa came crashing in. I'm done for now. When they come, they'll come and I'll kill them once again. "How much time do we have left?" I asked great-pa. "We have 2 years at least and that's only if nothing else happens and we're not in a vulnerable position or if they're in a vulnerable position. And now apparently I'm being told that we didn't start this war. I guess I was too drunk when Lamia told me."

They must have something they're confident about if they want to start a war with us. This is horrible. "That's not ideal." "You must become the generals of the new generation of children. Before it's too late." This is unfair. I want a break. "This means we must completely overturn our entire society in preparation for this war. We must encourage the development of weapons, then we must encourage higher PR's, in turn, more discrimination, but that can wait."

"Now that I've updated you, I'll introduce you to my wife, the greatest healer Fylar has ever known." "Let me introduce myself to my children." You know what? I can quite literally see it. The genes. She had Viridian eyes that reflected knowledge and wisdom, but I could also see where that tinge of darker shards of green comes from in Brians's eyes.

She had amber-colored flowing hair and looked thirty. She looked just around the same age as great-pa. She smacked him on the back of the head. "I'm here to perform surgery on both of you. It'll heal your injuries, rid you of scars, make you healthier, completely re-composing your skin. Etc Etc."

She said with a smile. "I'll talk and introduce myself further after." She reached towards both of us. I smelled like green apples and honey. I fell into the deepest sleep I have ever felt.

I woke up.

I feel like a new person. I flexed my fingers. Noticing there were no callouses and no scars. I had milky white skin. My long dark hair that no longer had any white streaks was silkier and smoother than ever.

I looked down. Um, I have boobs? I looked up I was in a very comfortable bed with golden light shining through the windows and the birds chirping. Every breath felt like life. I notice Brian also in the bed with me. His hair had fallen on his face. But he looked a lot more handsome to the point that he's pretty. My face turned hot looking at him.

I have no intrusive and dark thoughts. Stretching, I got out of bed. I was in the Ryhem mansion once again. I was dressed in a white t-shirt and my pink pajamas with ducks on them. Brian woke up. I noticed his muscular body in stupid hormones.

He looked down at his body, noticing no scars and rejuvenated skin. "This feels amazing." He said, clenching his fists. Getting dressed in some pants and a shirt with long sleeves and a sweater, I went all the way downstairs. Finding all sorts of cereal there and any choice of steaming foods, my stomach rumbled.

But first. I went up to great-pa's room. Knocking on the door, I heard some shuffling and frustrated groaning. ? Great-pa opened the door, panting. "Hello!" He said with a smile. His wife shoved him out of the way. "Ahck! There's no need to be violent!" He said, yelling at her playfully, trying to hold back his laughs.

She walked out of the room, taking me with her. "How do you feel?"

"I feel amazing." "Thank you," I said, stopping and bowing. "Oh child, the only payment I need is to see you happy and healthy. In fact, that's why I do this." She said with a smile. "Oh yeah, and all of your puberty has started to grow so yeah."

I nodded and walked downstairs with her. We sat in a comfortable wood and cushioned room with two coffees. "So tell me, how did you and Brian first meet?"

"Well, at a point in my life I was nearly blind for around eleven years, so on my birthday when I first met Brian I didn't even know what he looked like, only that he was never friends with me for my looks or there because I lived in a huge house."

"The first time we met, he went up to me all polite and nice, unlike all the other noble kids, and asked for a dance. I obliged, and we danced." Thinking about it gave me a nice sense of nostalgia. "That's quite the first meeting, and may I ask how you danced with somebody while blind?"

"I was nearly blind, not entirely," I said, emphasizing the nearly. She nodded. "So why do you have feelings for Brian?" She asked. A hot sensation went through my body. "Well, I uh guess he is always nice polite. He cares for me. He doesn't make me do things I don't want to. He's pretty. He always asks my opinion on thing he supports me all the time-"

"Girl stop. I asked why you have feelings for him, not an entire rundown on why you're absolutely smitten with my grandson." She said with a smile. "I had to make sure my grandson isn't dating a gold digger, eh?"

"Yes, I understand." The number of women trying to get with Brian on the night of the ball was immense. "Alright," she said with a smile on her face. "So how was your first kiss?"

I smiled, looking about the night.

We talked for a long time she was sweet and kind. Giving advice and what I should do. "Trust me, as someone who has been married for a very very long time sometimes when your man is feeling down he won't want to show you because it makes him sadder to see you sad that he's sad."

"That's a tongue twister," I said with a laugh. "Oh, look at the time! It's 12 pm!" We both got up she lead me somewhere else other than the dining hall. "Where are we going?" I asked her. "You don't think we eat in there all the time do you?"

"It's overbearing and frankly annoying to even talk to each other." She led me to another cozy room with a kitchen the vibe went from a huge castle to a normal suburban family home quickly. It looked like Brian and Ryhem were talking while cooking.

"Hello!" Brain turned around with batter on his face and clothes. I laughed. Great-pa went and greeted me and Olivia "Hi, Sapphire and Olivia." "Good afternoon Ryhem." "Lunch is just finished getting ready."

They put the plates out on the wooden table. That's a lot of food. But I am starving right now. "Time to eat!"

Brian said excitedly. We dug into the food. I grabbed the bowl of pasta and put a decent amount of it on my plate, then I got the vegetables. It was asparagus. Makes me want to puke just looking at it.

I put the plate down and began eating. I tasted it. It was amazing! I scarfed it down quickly. I slouched down and felt very full. "The surgery forces your body to completely regenerate new cells with the energy I give you, but I can't replicate the things food naturally gives you. You must have been so hungry."

"It completely slipped my mind to tell you." She said, scratching the back of her head. Still chewing, I responded. "Nu pruvlem"

After eating we sat down and talked. "So, when was your first mission together? I'm dying to know." Ryhem said smiling I looked at Brian straight in the eyes. "Well, you see, there was this organization named evil, involved in every criminal activity I can think of. We were chosen to go and capture a noble son who had done some heinous. things. We got the information out of him and that was it."

I told them a very simplified version of it. "I remember a lot more happenings that evening but that's another story for another day,"

"May I be excused from the table?" I asked them. They nodded. Walking out in the halls I went and twirled around happily. That got awkward. "Awkward huh?" Brian said, walking towards me. "Yeah, our first mission wasn't pleasant" "I guess." He said, casting his look down.

"I need to get my brother," I said, telling him what I was going to do. "Can I come with you?" Brian asked me. "No, I need to do this myself."

6 hours later….

Great-pa dropped me off right in front of the large manor I formerly called home. Checking the date, I saw I had been sleeping from the surgery for a month. I checked the time with my watch that I hadn't taken off for years.

Walking up to the front door, I knocked. I heard crashing, stumbling a shuffling. Then a shaggy man that stank of drugs and alcohol opened the door. It was my father. Seeing his state I wondered if he was even taking care of my brother.

I stared at him for 5 minutes. "Why are you here?" He asked me. "To check on my brother, Jack." He mumbled. "No." "Now, Jack." "No!" He yelled at me. I shoved him out of the way and he attempted to grab me from behind. Dodging him, I continued on my way.

It smells disgusting in here. Looking around, I saw a woman lying on the couch. How could he? Walking up the stairs, I heard crying. It had to be my brother. Finding the room he was in I looked at him he wasn't even set in a crib he was set on a drawer where he could easily fall from.

He was malnourished. I fed him some of my life force to make up for his malnourishment. Jack had finally found the room. He yelled at me. I ignored him, picking up my brother, walking out and taking off my watch, and stepping on it. I dodged and ignored all of his questions.

When I went back to the door after he had followed me, I turned around. "Jack Selain, you're under arrest for possession of narcotics and child neglect." I'm legally a soldier I can arrest unlawful persons.

I grabbed his arm and pushed him against the door, breaking his arm. "And personally if I ever see you again… I'll break more than just your arm goodbye." I ran to the nearest police station and walked in, dragging him by his collar.

"Ma'am, aren't you a little young to-" the receptionist said until she saw my ex-father being dragged by me. "W- what happened?" She said panicked. She called security. They ran, grabbed me, and dragged me to the interrogation office.

"Where are your parents?" He asked me. "I don't have parents." "What were you doing with that man?" "He's under arrest for child neglect and narcotics possession." "Oh." The officer said, realization. "And whose baby is that?" He asked, confused. "Oh, this is my brother."

"If that is all I will leave," I said, standing up and exiting. This time around I brought money to the city, so I stopped by some places and get supplies for babies.

How am I going to take care of a baby?

I got a crib and a stroller for baby food and milk. When I was ready, I called great-pa again. He picked me up, slightly confused. When we got to the castle, I explained while sitting down with Olivia, Brian, and Ryhem.

…. After catching them up, they had a look of understanding on their faces.

We had sat my brother and another kid next to each other. They had giggled and other things. "Those two will not be staying in my room first off," Olivia said, setting some ground rules.

I nodded, and so did Brian. I'm tired. Getting up I grabbed my brother's crib and Brian grabbed his child's crib. We sat down in our bed fully dressed. "Waaaaahhhh," Both babies started crying.

Getting from our beds, I stopped Brian. "I'll feed them." Opening up my cabinet in the big room, I found the cabinet with the food in it. I was confused for some minutes and got the milk. I fed them the milk then gave them their rubber suckers.

I collapsed on the bed. I finally fell asleep. "Waaaaahhh!" Of for the love of God! I felt Brian getting up and doing something. I heard him singing.

It was a beautiful song, sung by an even prettier voice. Checking my wat- oh yeah, I don't have it anymore. Eventually, the babies fell asleep after about an hour and I finally closed my eyes, only to hear the birds chirping in the early morning. I buried my head in my pillow and groaned.

I finally slept for some hours then "Waaaaahh!" I rubbed the bridge of my nose and got up. I fed my brother, then I got dressed in pajamas. This parenting thing might be hard. And I have to prepare for the next war...
