Bar

I skipped around with my buddies happily. We had found our way out of the dangerous ghettos. "Three k in one night!" I excitedly said. "I still can't believe it either!" "We made bank!!!" "Yo, Parker." Jackson said, turning around. "Wassup?" "Too bad you didn't get any girls' tonight, huh?"

"Nah, man I'm good. Getting a girl in that place last time could've gotten us killed, eh?" Parker said with a frown. "True, true Parker." "Next time check if there's a ring on her finger, eh?" Jackson said, flicking his forehead. "Alright, alright, I deserve that but next time you want o mess with someone Jackson how about checking if they have a whole security detail behind them!"

"Again? It was a YEAR ago!" Jackson yelled. "Still almost got us all killed." I then desisted to put my two cents in. "That guy was a white-collar criminal Jackson messed with. You slept with the fiance of a crime lord's lucky. So, weighing which one's worse, I'd choose you, Parker." He rolled his eyes again. Fine! I lose!" Parker threw his hands up in the air, frustrated.

One more street. "Guys, what if we stayed out all night instead of going home?" Micheal asked excitedly. He was always like this at night time anywhere past twelve and he was shaking like a fresh engine. Almost like some nocturnal. Everyone looked at him as if he were crazy. "Vote, then majority wins." The four of us voted.

All four hands went up synonymously. "But only if we all check in with our moms first to see if we can." Murmurs of agreement came. "Of course, I'm not stupid. I wouldn't want any of you getting into some serious trouble." Everyone split up and went to their houses. "Meet right here in fifteen if you're down and your moms are down."

Curfew was two am, so I was on time. I walked up the stairs and opened my condo door with my key, and quietly stepped inside. Mom usually wasn't asleep until two am, which is why she set my curfew then. I saw mom reading through emails with her glasses on.

"Good evening Theo, got to get washed up and eat." "Mom, can I stay out with my friends still morning?" "If you can get back by eight am, then sure, if you can't, you're not going out with your friends for a month." I smiled and gave mom a hug. "You're the best! You're all I need." I said, embracing her.

I genuinely mean that I never wish I had a father. That sorry bastard doesn't deserve mom, me or Layla. My mom was and always is the best and the only parent I need. "Thank you, mom" I said, "Ah, Ah, Ah, you must take a shower. I don't care how quick it is. You will not go out all night with a stench on you."

Mom said with a serious face on her.

...

After a quick shower and change of clothes, I dropped the bleach stained shirt in the bucket of bleach and let it sit. I grabbed some iced coffee from the fridge and headed out. I've got two minutes to get there. I teleported fast. I made time fifteen seconds from my house to the meeting spot.

Everyone was already there. "Everyone got approval, correct?" Everyone nodded their heads. "Who wants to head to the bar?" "Yeah!" We unanimously agreed. Everybody looked at me. "You know I can't team teleport yet! Only me and another at the same time!"

I frustratedly explained to them. They sighed and said, "Guess we walk." Jackson said. He asked, just to get me riled up. Really? I gave him a look. He chuckled. "Come on, I had to get some laughs out of something tonight."

Rolling my eyes, we walked through the blocks having laughs and talking about good and bad times. "I love all of you guys." I said, smiling. Micheal, Parker, and Jackson turned around and looked at me strangely. "We love you too bro, you good?"

"Just hoping I never lose any of you, y'know?" "Something going on?" "Nah, nothing." I responded truthfully. The bar was right around the corner open 24/7 more neon lights we had entered the ghetto again. Entering the bar, it smelled like alcohol and it was filled. I mean, Friday night was always filled, not unexpected. Seeing a hot woman around our age, Parker's eyes lit up excitedly.

He started walking over, and Micheal grabbed his collar. "Not until you've ordered at least one drink with the guys." Parker frowned and I laughed. We sat down. "Strongest you got?" The girl operating at the counter blushed heavily seeing our faces. We were quite the attractive bunch, "S- sure."

She went under the desk and some men walked in. They smelled of blood and alcohol. She peeked up with her smile still on, then her smile turned into a face of pure dread. "Now that's quite the face you've got there, do you mind me asking what's wrong?" I asked confused as to why she was making that face, but I'm guessing it had something to do with the bunch of brown-haired shabby-looking guys that just walked in with a creepy yellow-toothed smile on their faces.

She ducked down again without answering my question. "Hiding from us, eh?" The one in the middle barged in the middle of us leaned over the counter and pulled her up from her hair. She had pink streaks in her hair a slim build with blonde showing hair.

Parker yelled. "Woah there! She's not finished filling our cups. We're just trying to have a good drink here!"
