Blinding lights

[You don't even have to do too much]

Ngula didn't just include the boarding, it was a whole town. It included hospitals, houses etc. Cordelia's family owned a mansion here.

As they bypassed many different shops, Yima spotted a taunting jade coloured dress.

She walked into the shop and began feeling the material that it was made of.

"Silizma, the finest." The shop owner said from her desk. Yima had heard of silizma before, it came from the decaying body of the exiled goddess Feyra.

"It's as soft as a cloud." Cordelia said as she ran her sausage fingers on the dress.

"How much?" Yima screamed at the shop owner.

"What are you willing to give?" He asked her.

"Let's get out of here," Cordelia said as she yanked at Yima's hand, "We have nothing to give." She told the man as she exited the door with Yima drilling holes into the back of her head.

"What was that for?" Yima asked angrily.

"Are you crazy, that's silizma it could cost you your whole life." Cordelia pointed at the dress which was in a different shade now.

"What do you mean it cost me my life?"

"The price for silizma is half your soul, if you get it at a discount then they'll only get your smile and half of someone else's soul."

"Why?" Yima asked and Cordelia closed her eyes in frustration.

"Can we go now?" Kai was standing awkwardly next to them with his hands in his pockets.

"Follow me." Cordelia turned to the left and continued walking.

Yima resisted the urge to continue window shopping.

After a boring five minutes they finally reached their destination.

"It's beautiful." Yima's mouth was open as she took in every detail from the cracks that showed its age to each window hoping to see someone watching from above.

"This is nothing, you should see the pirate king's mansion." Cordelia said as the wooden gate creaked open.

"He owns a house here?" Yima's voice filled with excitement.

She was already planning the goodbye letter that she would write to Lilith. She cancelled the plans that she had to break into the room that Leandre had taken her.

"He's home is the sea, he has never set foot on land ever-increasing he took over. Only his family and closest friends come and live there whenever they want but none of them stay."

"Is that a requirement for every pirate king?" She wasn't going to live her whole life with his son on that crappy ship.

Kai yawned each time Cordelia tried to speak, showing his disinterest in the topic.

"You're lucky the pirate king isn't interested in ruling the land, otherwise you would be yawning in a cell under the Kuozwa." Yima tried her best not to laugh but she couldn't keep it in any longer.

"I'm sorry." She said as she wiped tears from her eyes caused by how hard she was laughing.

Kai was no longer walking alongside them, he was a few meters away from the wooden door.

"He can't take a joke." Cordelia mused as she smiled.

"You just made my day." Yima told her.

"What's so funny about what I said?" Cordelia raised one eyebrow.

 "You won't get it."

They gossiped all the way to the door. Yima was starting to like Cordelia even more.

**

"I'm home!" Cordelia shouted as she closed the door behind them. No one responded, meaning Neon was still at school.

 "Let me show you around."

"I'll be outside by the garden." Kai said.

"Ok, grow us some beautiful flowers while you're at it." Cordelia showed Yima her art room first.

"I've always wanted to learn how to paint." Yima said as she ran her fingers over the rough surface of one of Cordelia's paintings.

The smell of wet paint on paper made Yima feel a little dizzy. Most of what Cordelia painted included animals.

"I've met all the creatures in my paintings." Cordelia took two jars of grey liquid and stood next to Yima who was busy admiring her most recent painting.

 "Where did you find this?"

 "The pet house."

The sound of the door opening downstairs made both girls turn, voices followed meaning Kai and Neon were talking.

Yima and Cordelia went downstairs to meet him but he had already gone upstairs to his room.

"Welcome to our humble home." Neon shouted from the top stairs as he came down to meet them.

His cologne was strong, something about it made Yima want to be a damsel in distress and just fall into his arms for protection.

That was the type of cologne that Kai needed.

Neon's brown training attire looked like it was worth more than her entire existence.

"You look beautiful." Neon complimented Yima.

 "Thank you. You smell amazing."

"Plit joi, edition five." She knew she had to look in the most expensive shops to find that.

 "Fancy."

"Let me just-" Cordelia started walking but tripped and spilt the liquid on both Yima and Kai.

"I'm so sorry." She didn't sound sorry.

"It's fine, I was going to change anyway." Neon said and went up to his room.

"I have a brown shirt that has to be your size, you can go up to my room and change, it also has a shower." Cordelia placed the now empty jars on the floor, "let me go and prepare a bath for you in my room, you can come upstairs after five minutes."

"Ok." Yima waited and finally went up the stairs

The door wasn't locked obviously and it opened without a sound. She could hear the water running in the bathroom and she walked over to the dresser.

There was a towel on the bed and she took it. After quickly undressing, she put on the towel and it was too small for her. It barely covered her.

She heard the water stop running and she immediately thought the mat Cordelia was still in the bathroom so she walked to the bathroom door in three steps and as she reached for the door the door opened.

"What are you doing in my room?" Neon asked as he held his towel tighter.
