Chapter 11: Blankets

The girls seemed to complain for quite a bit of some time, as to the fact that they had lost cell phone service on their phones, which I felt like they should have seen coming in the first place, as soon as we were going to be up in the mountains, as I knew that the girls were not at all stupid by any means, but it felt like some times, just based off of the way that they acted a lot of the times, it certainly felt like the were in fact quite a bit stupid, as I rolled my eyes all at the exact same time too.

I looked up at the front of the car at the exact same time too, to see that he was on Google Maps, and it said that we were less than 2 miles away from the place at the exact same time too, which I felt like I should have seen coming, just based off of the fact that it was hard to hear any thing in my ears right now, just due to the fact that we were quite a bit high up, and I knew that there was a bunch of shit about density and gravity that I had stopped paying attention to in science long ago, when they had told us about that kind of stuff, such as when you went in to an airplane, or, you went up a mountain, such as we were going up right now.

I could feel it in the car at the exact same time too, as I could feel that we were going quite a bit far up right at this very moment in time, as I knew that it was quite a big and long ways up at the exact same time too, as I let out quite a bit of a soft sigh all at the same time as well, as I then noticed that the cat was starting to become empty, and a bit silent now, which kind of had me a bit worried at the exact same time as well, as I looked over at the girls.

At first, I had thought that it was due to the fact that we had now got a bit of some phone signal, but as I then came to realize, that it was not the case at all, as I saw that they had their eyes out on the sides of the road right at this very moment in time, as if there was some thing that they saw out there. It did not seem to be the case at all how ever, as I saw that their eyes seemed to be going in different directions, signyfing that they both were just looking out on the sides of the roads, trying to see if they saw any thing cool.

I was a bit surprised that they did not have their phones out for that, as I would have thought that they would want to record all of this for sure, to go on Instagram and brag about the fact that they had gone up to the Old Mountain to go and see as to what it was that was actually up there, and to go and brag about the fact that they had made it back alive. At first I would think that they would talk about how every one else were wussies, as to the fact that they did not want to go and see what was up there, but at the exact same time too, I also knew that this was the perfect time to brag about some thing.

I was sure that they were going to be telling every one all sorts of spooky and scary stories about all of this, and things that had gone on up there, that actually had not happened at all. I rolled my eyes, as I felt like I should just let them be, and let them do what ever it was that they wanted to do, and that I should not step in for any of it, as it was a bit funny my self. I still was a little bit worried about Alexander, as to the fact as to the way that he had been acting not all too long ago, but it seemed like he had managed to get over him self, and managed to get over the initial spook, luckily enough.

I was glad for it as well, as I was not all too sure if I could make it all too long on this trip if my friend was not trying to scare me at all, but he was rather more scared him self. In stead, they too just had their eyes out on the view of what it was that was going on all around us at this very moment in time, as I was not all too sure as to just what it was that every one was even trying to look at in the first place, as I began to turn my head around to see as to what it was that was going on right at this very moment in time.

By now, it was fully dark out, and it was a bit hard to see, well, at least, that was what it was that I first would have thought, as it was in fact not all too hard to see at all, due to the fact that not only was it snowing, but there was also lighting flying up and around in the sky, which was quite a bit amazing to me at the exact same time too, as it was the first time that I had ever seen lightning strikes up in the sky, when there was a snow storm. It was quite a bit beautiful if I was not going to lie to my self, as I was almost tempted to pull out my own phone, to record all of the crazy shit that was going on at this very moment in time any ways.

I did not do so how ever, as I felt like this was some sort of special moment that we just needed to keep to our selves for the time being, as it was one of the coolest things that I had ever seen in my life, all at the exact same time as well, as I had quite a bit of a smile on my face, all at the same time too, as to what it was that I was seeing right at this very moment in time, as it was quite a phenomenon if I was not going to lie to my self.

I stared up at the sky for just a little while longer, until I noticed that the trees above us then seemed to block out the sky, as the branches made it quite a bit hard for me to see, as I let out a bit of a soft sigh all at the exact same time as well, as I noticed that we were even closer than we had been before, as I saw that we were now 500 feet away from our destination, as the Google voice assistant seemed to say to all of us, all at the exact same time as well, as Zachary began to slow down the car all at the exact same time, as if he was trying to spook us out.

I realized that it was not the case at all how ever, as I noticed that we were going down a bit of a gravel road, which was a bit hard to see, due to all of the snow that had already got all over it. Zachary then all of the sudden stopped the car all at the exact same time too, as it was clear that we could go no further, which I was a bit lost by, and a bit shocked by what it was that was even going on in the very first as well, as I then stared at the big snow pile that was ahead of us.

I looked at it for quite a bit of time, as I saw that every one that was in the car at this very moment in time, were all staring at it, as it was clear that none of us had a clue as to what it was that we should do now. I was tempted just to ask Zachary to turn around and leave, which I knew was a big waste of our time, and a ton of gas mileage that he had wasted at the exact same time as well, just taking us to this place, as I dipped my head a bit low to the ground at the exact same time too, at first, until I then heard the voice of my girl, Marion, as she then all of the sudden began to speak up to Zachary at the front of the car.

I lifted my head up, and I turned my head over to Marion, at the exact same time as well, as I saw that she had a bit of some look of fright in her own face at this very moment in time. That looked seemed to be a bit of a different reason than mine was how ever, as I was more just a bit afraid of all of the stories, rather than the fact that there was a snow pile right at this very moment in time, right ahead of us, which was of course, blocking the way as to where it was that we needed to go.

I let out a bit of a soft sigh to my self, all at the exact same time as well, as I still was a bit in fear of, all of the 'ghosts' so to say, for some stupid reason or another, even though I did not believe in any of the bull shit. I sighed, as I did my best to shake off all of those thoughts from my head, all at the exact same time as well, which luckily, I got some help from Marion, as I remembered that she was speaking, as I then began to listen as to what it was that she had to say so Zachary up at the front, in the very first place any ways.

"We can't go any further... What happens if your car gets stuck in the snow? I think that it might have been a bad idea to come to this place..." She said to Zachary, as it seemed like she was really doing her best to try to get him to change his mind. I felt like I agreed a bit on what it was that she had just said, but that was a bit of a different reason as to what it was that she had just said to him in the very first place how ever, as I was more just scared as to the fact that we were about to go in to the old mountain hunting grounds.

I knew that the hunting grounds had not been used in a while, but perhaps there was a reason for that how ever... I was not all too sure as to just what it was that was going on with me at this very moment in time, as I felt like I was being an idiot, as to the fact that I was scared of ghosts, which I knew for a fact was not a real thing. I rolled my eyes a bit to my self, as I shook off all of those thoughts, all at the exact same time as well, as I then got my focus on what it was that was even going on in the very first place any ways, which was of course the fact that Zachary had his eyes back up to us.

He had his eyes squinted at Marion at the exact same time too, as it seemed like he was not all too happy with her at the same time too, as I felt like it might have some thing to do with what it was that she had just said. It was not normal for him at all, as Zachary was normally happy all of the time, even if it was some thing bad that had happened to him, as he some how managed to stay happy, even after the day that his mother had passed away from cancer, as he had talked about her going to go live in a better place, which I did not believe in at all, unless he was saying that eternal darkness, and nothing was a better place.

I still felt like I had to support him in all of that how ever, as he was still my friend, as I knew I had to lighten up the spirit for him, as I knew that he was a bit hurt by it still. This seemed to be some thing that was altogether completely different than all of that how ever, as I was not all too sure as to what it was that was going on with my friend in the very first place any ways, as I blinked my eyes a few times, before I then squinted my eyes back at Zachary.

Zachary did not have his eyes on me at all right now how ever, as he had his eyes on Marion, as it seemed like he was just trying to stare her down, as it seemed like he was shunning on her at the exact same time too, as if she had done some thing wrong, by simply saying some thing that made perfect sense. I was a bit lost by it, as I still was not all too sure as to just what it was that was going on at this very moment in time any ways, as I rolled my eyes just a bit, and I then nodded a bit to my self, all at the exact same time as well, as I then began to hear Zachary start to speak up to Marion.

I was still a little bit lost by what it was that was going on in the very first place any ways, but I still did have my full attention on what it was that was going on right now either way, as I still kept my eyes squinted at him, which still did not bother him at all, though it did make me feel a little bit better at the very least, as I then all of the sudden, began to listen as to what it was that he had to say back to Marion, in the very first place as well.

"We are 200 feet away... We can just walk there... Plus my car is made for stuff like this, so we will be fine..." He said to her, as I was a little bit lost as to what it was that he had just said. I was sure that it was true what it was that he had said to her in the very first place any ways, at least, I am sure that it was what it was that he was told, but if I knew at least even the slightest about cars, I knew that if we got in to a situation like the one that we might be about to be in right now, than he was going to be screwed, and the car might not start at all by the time that we got back to it.

I sighed just a bit to my self, as I could see quite the worried look on the face of my girl, Marion, all at the same time as well, as I could tell that she was a bit lost in her head at this very moment in time, on who knows what, as I knew that she might be a bit worried about all of the ghosts for one thing, such as it kind of felt like I was. That really did not feel like it was the case at all how ever, as it seemed to be that she was worried for a much different reason than I was.

I knew that the answer was pretty obvious, and I was just being a bit dumb with my train of thought, and my focus at this very moment in time, as I knew that she, unlike such as I was to my own parents, loved her parents to pieces, and I was sure that she was worried about what it was that they would think if she had been gone from the house for several days, especially if we did not have cell phone service with where it was that we were at right now at the exact same time too.

I knew that she had not told her parents about any of this at the exact same time as well, as I knew that her family was very religious, such as she was, so they for sure did not want her going around and playing with evil spirits, as they often liked to call them. I felt a bit bad for her, which I really could not help at all, of course, as she was my girl, and I was fairly certain as well, that she was the love of my life, even with all of the shit that we had been through together.

I knew that it was best not to dwell on all of that how ever, as I shook off all of those thoughts, all at the exact same time as well, as I then got my focus on what it was that we were doing at this very moment in time, in the very first place any ways, as I looked up to see that Zachary had his eyes on the girls that were in the middle seats, as it was clear that he was trying to make sure that the both of them were okay, and nothing was going on with them at this very moment in time.

Well, of course, there was some thing that was going on with them right now, as I saw a not so happy look on all of their faces all at the exact same time as well, which I knew was due to the fact that they had lost cell phone signal, and that they were no longer able to do any thing out in the mountains now. I felt like, even though I knew that they were smart girls, they were a bit stupid not to realize that they would not have any phone service up here.

They had brought all of those batteries with them for no reason, as I cracked a bit of a smirk, which I was glad that no one had noticed me do as such a thing at the exact same time as well, as I knew that I was being quite a bit of an ass hole with the fact that I thought that it was kind of funny. It was not really all that funny at all to me how ever, as I was more just wanting them to go out side, and enjoy this trip that they were about to be on with all of our friends, as I knew that it was going to be a trip like no other.

I knew that it was going to be some thing that all of us could brag about, and all of us could boast about for quite a long time to all of the people that were around us at the exact same time, especially if we did have devices to record, and take pictures of all that we saw out here. I felt like there was going to be some spooky stuff that we were going to see, so perhaps it was a good idea to use phones to record all of it, though I doubt that was the reason that all of them had their phones out at this very moment in time.

I rolled my eyes just a little bit, as I did my best to get my focus off of all of that all at the exact same time as well, as I knew that I had to get my focus in on what it was that we were going to be doing in the very first place any ways, as I then nodded to my self, as I then all of the sudden heard the voice of one of the girls all at the exact same time as well, as it felt like Rosalinda, finally had the courage to step up and speak back to Zachary, which was quite a bit rare for her at the same time too, as I knew that she did not like to very often step up and speak, such as the way that she was doing right now.

I blinked my eyes a few times, as I did my best to get my focus off of all of those thoughts, all at the exact same time as well, as I then nodded to my self none the less, as I got my full focus on what it was that was going on right now in the very first place any ways, as I realized that Rosalinda was in fact speaking up to Zachary, very much to my own surprise still, as I shook off those thoughts too, and I then began to listen as to what it was that she had to say to him never the less.

"What are we even doing out here in the first place? This all seems stupid to me..." She said to not just Zachary, but also to the rest of us, as I saw her begin to look at every one else that was in the car at this very moment in time too, as it was clear that she was trying to get the support of all of us. She was mainly trying to get the support of the girls how ever, as that was where I mainly saw her eyes on right now, as I saw that she was staring at Sharise, and Marion right now.

I let out a bit of a rough, but also a bit of a soft sigh at the exact same time too, as I felt like I should have seen this coming at the exact same time too, and I felt like it was no sort of surprise at all to me either. I would have known that as soon as the girls lost their phone signal, then they would be upset, and they would make this trip miserable. I just had to keep my hopes up how ever, as to the fact that they would not make it like this the whole trip, as it was clear to me that Zachary had already made up his mind on all of this, just based off of the fact as to what it was that he had said just a few moments ago.

I was on Zachary's side on all of this for once, as I kind of agreed with the fact that he was not all too happy with her and Sharise, who I saw was nodding in a bit of some agreement as to what it was that Rosalinda had just said in the first place. I knew that Zachary knew just as well as I did, as to why they were acting this way, though it was clear that he was not going to bring up as to why they were doing this, as I knew just as well as he did, that they would deny any thing that he said about them not having their phones.

I shook my head, as I got my focus off of all of that, all at the exact same time as well, as I then turned my head over to my girl, Marion instead, as I kind of wanted to see as to what it was that she was thinking her self, at this very moment in time never the less, as for some reason I felt like she was going to be the one that was going to have to be the one that makes the end all, say all decision on all of this, which tended to be how it went, as she was usually the one that made the tiebreaker in all of the votes that we had.

I blinked my eyes for a few moments, as I waited to see some sort of emotion on the face of my girl, but it kind of seemed like she was a bit brain dead at this very moment in time, which kind of had me a bit worried never the less, as I had my head tilted over at her, though it did not seem like she was paying me any sort of attention at all, at this very moment in time either, as I then dipped my head a little bit low to the ground, feeling a little bit bad about all of this.

It was a normal thing for her to do, so I suppose that I should not be all too worried about any of it how ever, as I let out another soft sigh to my self, as I got my focus off of all of those thoughts once again, as soon as I then heard the voice of Zachary begin to speak up from the front of the car, once again. I was a little bit shocked, as well as the fact that I was a little bit lost never the less, as I had not a clue as to just what it was that was going on in the very first place any ways.

I blinked my eyes a few times, as I knew that once again, to no surprise at all, what so ever to me, Zachary did not have his eyes on me right now, which I knew was due to the fact that I was not the one that seemed to be important at all at this very moment in time. I shook off all of those thoughts all at once how ever, as I then got my focus in on what it was that Zachary even had to say to every one of us in the car in the first place, as I of course listened as to what it was that he had to say to us.

"No... You guys are not changing my mind... I went all this way, and it is for a damn good reason..." He said to all of us, as I saw the girls dip their heads a bit low to the ground, as if they had thought that they some how were going to change his mind on all of it, just due to the fact that they did not have any cell phone service, and they were not happy about that at all. I rolled my eyes a bit at the girls, though I knew that they were not paying me any sort of attention at all, either, just like the rest of the passengers that were in the car with me right now. I really was not all too worried about that at all how ever, as I kept my eyes on Zachary, as I then saw him smile a bit, as it was clear that he was happy that he now had realized that he had won. He nodded a bit to him self at the same time too, as he then continued to speak once again, and I once again listened as to what it was that he had to say in the very first place any ways. "It's going to be very cold, so you should all get your self some blankets..."
