"Heiran, the girls ditched classes. I can't find them."
Ruel came closer to Heiran while saying those words aloud. Both of them are exhausted; both of them are disappointed that they haven't found the girls. Heiran's effort will surely become a waste once those papers reach Chung Ae. Without her knowing, Young Jae also helped with the search but those girls became so hard to find.
"What am I going to do now?"
"Don't you have another copy? Maybe on your phone or your laptop."
"I didn't have anything at all. Who would've thought this is going to happen?"
"Heiran if you lose your scholarship, since my father has been offering you a whole year of free tuition, why not grab it?"
"I can't lose to your Dad. He's my father's ally. If I accept the scholarship, you know what'll happen to the both of us right?"
She is right. The moment Ruel think about what she said it made him disgust his father even more. Heiran can only avail the so called free tuition for the whole year once she dated Ruel. Ever since they were introduced to each other, Heiran and Ruel accepted the fact that their parents only did that to set up a relationship between the both of them. At the time, they are both single until Ruel met his girl friend a year ago and decided to pursue her.
It is also the same reason why Heiran never dared to be interested over someone. For her, the first set of persons that should know her relationship, if ever she'll have one should be her parents. So how could she do that if her parents are just open to one guy which is her best friend Ruel? For both Heiran and Ruel, this situation is unfair; they are not benefiting anything from it.
"Are you sure you went to the right section?"
"I am sure. I actually met..."
Then Ruel stuttered and stopped talking. He is just about to spill out that Young Jae cooperated with the search but he shouldn't. He doesn't know why Young Jae wants to keep it a secret but he managed to promise him not to tell Heiran. So what is Young Jae thinking at that very exact time?
"If Heiran thinks she can do things on her own, what can I do about that? She doesn't want me to help her so I will intervene in the most subtle way possible.", Young Jae thought to himself. He doesn't even know what kind of connection he is trying to build with Heiran. But since Chung Ae dragged her into this, he really wants to help her victim. In whatever way he could intrude, he will and he will protect Heiran from her.
"You met who?"
"I'm sorry. Is there something I said?"
Ruel reasoned out, trying to make Heiran feel what he said was just a mistake. And because of that, Heiran just shut her mouth up and never asked him about that thing again. The only thing she could do now is go home and rewrite everything. But who would help him do it again? It can't be Ruel since he already said he's going over the other town to visit his girlfriend. "Should I try looking for Dongyul and ask for his help?", Heiran thought to himself.
And her first attempt to call Dongyul failed. Is he on the way to go home that's why he can't answer the phone? Or is he with Chung Ae? She looked helplessly at Ruel but she realized the man has done enough help for her. It'll be unfair for him to cancel his date with his girl friend just because Heiran messed up with her job.
"Do you want me to help you?", Ruel asked and Heiran immediately said no.
"I think I should go home now and start doing it."
"Are you sure you don't need my help?"
"I'll do it and I can."
"Then let me help you with your things. You might be tired."
"Stop acting like you are my boyfriend. Everyone's assuming we're dating."
"If you can't have your scholarship back and your parents found out, they will force you to grab my father's offer. So we might still end up dating."
"We know we're not in that level."
"Heiran, my girl friend despise me. I don't know what to do. Do you think this will work out?"
Heiran looked at Ruel and he is just looking at the steps he is making. He might be tired of their set up specially the woman seemed pretty uninterested with him. She never considered calling them a couple of long distance relationship, they're just a city apart. So Heiran keeps wondering why Ruel's girlfriend feels so far even if she's actually living in the next city.
"Who knows? Your girlfriend might be having some problems right now. Maybe that's the reason why she can't entertain you that much. Just give her some time and don't give up on her."
"Yeah you're right. And I can't even imagine myself being with another woman. It's just her and I feel complete."
"You don't have to drive me off. You can wait for the bus here. I'll go home alone."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
In her mind, there is a reason behind her wanting to go home alone. She wants to dial Dongyul's number over and over again. He said he'll help her if she needs him. It's not she's an opportunist or something like that but she badly needed someone's help.
So after Ruel and Heiran parted ways, she immediately hit up Dongyul's phone. Finally, he answered after another attempt to call him. Heiran took a deep breath first and is about to break in her motive. However she heard the man on the other line saying...
"Heiran, it's Young Jae."
"Where is Dongyul? Can I talk to him?"
"His training just started. You can tell me about it and I'll break it to him after his training."
"Uh... It's nothing. I forgot what I was about to say. Bye."
And she ended the call and Young Jae was not expecting that. She seemed pretty tensed after knowing it was Young Jae. On Young Jae's part, he knows exactly what it'll be about. But still, he is disappointed that Heiran is not reaching out to him. That night when he sent her that sincere message of him wanting to help her, she never replied as if she doesn't care.
"Heiran, I will help you with this. I assure you that once I intervene, no one can stop me from doing what I want."
