Troy walked into a hot mess. He had seen this before, even his couching and experience could shield his heart from the heaviness of the situation. He knew their pain and worst of all today he felt it too.
Angela's parents where in anguish and they desperately searched for their daughter. They had just received the news of the death of their son in law. Who to them was their own flesh and blood. Even though it wasn't a surprise. They had been praying for his sole. The circumstances where sudden and stuck a cord that wasn't expected. They wouldn't be able to look at him again, to thank him for everything he had done. To thank him for his inspiration and for his heart. Most of all for loving their daughter with all his heart. Now they both where gone. They planned to be a support for their daughter and they found themselves wishing for her support.
Troy knew that Reese was the better person out of the two of them. He was more capable in a wheelchair than many people where that didn't have a physical disability. Reese had concerned his mind and his will power. Troy knew this more than anyone. He was lost to his deadbeat father. He had taken him from him and he didn't even get to say goodbye. Worst of all he rejected him again and sent him back into the world alone.
Troy caught eye contact with his mother. Ann knew her son well, she knew that today was the day. She was going to have to admit her weaknesses to him. She prayed that he would forgive her. Ann own flesh and blood was going to judge her. She would rather be judged by the gates of heaven and be cast away then to admit what it she had done to her own son. Ann felt responsible for it all. She was blessed with knowledge and she abused the power. If not for friends, the ones that last a lifetime, she would have succumbed to the pressure long ago.
Ann held her breath as they both entered the car and turned on the radio. They drove a short distance before she turned off the car. The leaves where gorgeous this time of year. She held in the seen as if it to hold onto the past as long as possible.
Ann slowly opened her mouth. You shouldn't blame your father, Troy. Her eyes where still looking at the trees. This is my fault and i shouldn't have entertained the thought that i could live a normal life. You see i feel in love with your father. I could have just completed the job.
She let out a sigh as she bore her heart. My job was to gain information not to love him. Certainly not to become a mother. It was that small mistake that made me have to force him underground. I couldn't leave you guys. If i had just left you all would have been either killed or forgotten. I would never know to me you all would be forgotten. That chance that something could possibly happen to you made me go mad. I refused to leave. You see i was ordered to kill everyone that included all my colleagues and that helpless baby. When I looked into her face I hid her. Only to have her sneak into your life without me knowing.
I thought i had covered everything up the first time. Then your father found a small piece of information I missed. He was clueless and made a small error that in returned uncovered my huge error. I saved a friend so a life for a life he hid him away. He can never come back.
He changed his look but if his Finger prints or DNA surface then you and Reese would be in danger. The day you fell wasn't an accident. I had told them i was out and only a few hours later you where found barley hanging onto life.
I can't get out and you can't know. No one can. You think you live in a huge world that no one notices you in till you realize how small it really is. I was planning on ending it all today. Till i heard you where coming back. They would find something, they wouldn't stop killing till they did. Even then that would be the beginning. You see the best fights are battled in silence.
