The sun had woke up Yoruichi, who was busy dreaming about protecting Soichiro, and he got up. Yoruichi stretched his arms and yawned loudly, so loud enough that it got the attention of his mother. She knocked on his door, attempting to gain his attention. She kept knocking but was clearly ignored by her son. She huffed and sighed in frustration, "That boy is... ugh!" She said before walking off to her kitchen to make herself some breakfast. Yoruichi was staring at a frame that had a picture of his parents. They looked so happy together, and you could see that his mom was pregnant with him. Yoruichi placed his hand on the side of the picture that showed his father and silently cried. "Dad... why couldn't you have just stayed at home with us?! We wouldn't have been alone... we'd have you protecting us." Yoruichi said as he wiped the tears off his face and set the frame down on his bed. He punched the air and grinned like a mad man... had he been pretending that he had not just cried? Whatever, like it never happened! It would do him no good to be crying. His "boss is in trouble" senses had been tingling for a long while so something must have happened. "Boss, promise me that you are safe. If anything happens to you... I don't know how I'll take it. Well, I think I'd get so angry and find the person who hurt you then‐", his thoughts had been cut short once he heard the doorbell ring. He rushed out of his room and ran to the front door, then looked through the peephole to see Hoshika. He was about to invite her in until his mother grabbed him by his arm and dragged him into the kitchen. She smacked him on the back of his head (don't worry it was gentle) and looked him dead in the eyes, "So that girl is apart of the Giove Famiglia!? How did she even find our address- better yet, WHO gave her our location?! Was it you??" She asked with a worried tone and he shook his head. Truth be told, he had no idea how Hoshika even found his home. He made sure to cover his tracks so that his enemies wouldn't find them. Maybe he hadn't done that too well. Whatever the case, she was family so it was best to invite her in. "Ugh, let her in. But we WILL be having a talk about this mafia business, okay?!" She said to Yoruichi and he gave her a thumbs-up. He rushed to the front door and opened it with a click. Hoshika stepped in and looked around, the home looked like the average person's place. She took a wild guess and thought that Yoruichi had a beat-box hidden in his room. Soon, we will find out if the assassin is right. "Sorry to barge in on you like this. It was an emergency! I'll be out of your hair quickly. Do you mind if I speak to Yoruichi... in private? I think it would be better for your safety, ma'am." Hoshika said with a bow and Yoruichi's mother laughed at the formalities. "No need to be so formal! Just call me Mari, alright? And I understand. I'll leave you two alone... for now!" Mari said before disappearing into a hallway. She left the two of them alone and Hoshika hesitated to speak, making Yoruichi nervous. She stepped back to think of a way to explain that Yoruichi has a huge target on his head along with the rest of his friends. "Uhh... let's see, promise you won't get mad? If you break that promise, I'll make sure a sai goes through you- forget what I just said. Anyway, a situation has come up... a very dangerous one. Mafioso have infiltrated Namimori and their goal is to kill the next generation of the Giove Famiglia. Starting with Soichiro and his friends or anyone close to him for that matter. Everytime you step outside this house, you're in danger at all times. So to prevent you from dying like a complete loser, I want you to train harder than ever! If you really wanna protect your boss, then get strong enough to do that!", Hoshika said with a clenched fist. Was she... hyping Yoruichi up?! Yoruichi put his head against hers and started getting pumped up, "I'll beat whoever tries to touch the boss with my own body!" Yoruichi bellowed and Hoshika put her head against his, grinning wildly. "I CAN'T HEAR YOU! WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO?!", she shouted and Yoruichi let out a war cry like he was in a movie. "I'LL DEFEND MY BOSS AS HIS RIGHT HAND MAN!", he yelled and the two high-fived. Mari heard all the noise and face-palmed... why is an adult acting like a complete child with a teen?! Whatever the case, Hoshika whispered into the right ear of Yoruichi and smirked. "You'll be trained by a 'pal' of Renovatio's. He's super strong so expect a few broken bones on the start of your training." She whispered and left the home of Yoruichi's, happy that he didn't overreact when she told him about Soichiro being in trouble. She fully expected him to rush out and find him, only to be killed by Renovatio for interrupting his training. Well, it did end pretty well. Yoruichi watched his mother stroll in and sit on a chair, a cup of red wine in her hand and she took a sip. Her gaze told Yoruichi to sit his ass down and he did. "Ugh, your so much alike to your father. He always shouted 'boss' or something related to the mafia. It's because of that STUPID family that he is dead! He died protecting the 11th Giove Boss, who did not do a damn thing for his death! Yet here you are, protecting the next boss... ugh." Mari said while chugging down her wine and getting the bottle, pouring more wine in. Yoruichi squinted his eyes for a few seconds as his mother began to talk about how dangerous and dumb it is to be in the mafia, like the Giove famiglia for example. "Hey! Boss is not like them at all! And Giove Undicesimo tried his best to find dad's killer! Your just being unfair-", Yoruichi began to start a rant of his own until his mother threw her cup at a wall behind him. She glared at him, "I don't want you hanging around that boy no longer! He is a bad influence on your life. Why not be an engineer like your grandfather..." Mari trailed off and was going to leave Yoruichi in the living room by himself, only for him to shout at her. "I WILL NEVER LEAVE BOSS! IT'S MY DUTY AS HIS RIGHT-HAND MAN THAT I'M ALWAYS BY HIS SIDE!" Yoruichi yelled at his mother and she turned to face him. A frown was on her face and she turned around once more to head to her room, "Fine. It appears that I'm not going to get through to you. But... promise that you won't get killed..." she said before entering her room and closing the door behind her. She sighed in frustration and glared at a picture of her husband, the glare didn't last long. "Oh... why must you still give me trouble, even when your dead?" She said and held the picture up close to kiss it.
Yoruichi walked out of his home to wander in the streets. He had been thinking about the times he and his boss had fun, just two boys living their lives. As he was walking through the streets, ignoring what Hoshika had said completely, a group of men had been in front of him. They had bats that were meant to harm the boy and waved it at him. They meant business, huh? He hadn't known what he did to upset them but was aching to let out a few punches. One of them was the leader, you could just tell by his yellow jacket that had black Kanji that stood for "KING" on the sleeve of his jacket. King, which we will be calling him, had a phone in his hand and was talking with someone. "So this is the guy you asked us to beat up? Alright. You'll pay in full, correct? Great. Our job will be done in a few minutes... or more like seconds. I will call you back shortly, sir." King said before a cocky grin formed on his lips and his friends began to surround Yoruichi. Their plan was to jump him and beat his ass to death! Yoruichi sighed and pulled out his own phone then started dialing 911. "Ah, yes? I request an ambulance please. For how many? Let's see... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 people. Yes, I believe that will be it! Please hurry." Yoruichi said before hanging up and put his phone back into his pocket. He ran towards the nearest guy, who was on the right side of the street, and threw a quick punch at his face. The man fell down, unconscious, and Yoruichi turned to the others. One of the goons that had him surrounded had ran at him and raised his bat high in the air, attempting to slam it down on Yoruichi's head. But allowing your weapon to be held so high leaves an opening for your chest, which was Yoruichi had been aiming for. The soon-to-be right hand of Soichiro had threw a punch at the goon's chest and the guy fell down on his knees. The bat he had been carrying was kicked aside by Yoruichi and he charged in, looking for another target/victim. 6 more to go! Yoruichi watched one of the goons throw his bat at Yoruichi, that he had easily dodged, and the goon watched in terror as a teenager kicked him in the face. He was then knocked out like a Christmas light. 5 more. He walked to a goon and was about to punch him when two of them decided to team up on him. They both had bats aimed for the back of his head and took two wild swings at his head. Yoruichi quickly ducked and groaned when he saw their ally possibly dead from a fractured skull. He got back up and wrapped his hands around their necks with a smile, then forced their heads to collide. One was left and he was the leader of their pack. Yoruichi walked towards him with his breath sounding very heavy, he was getting a little tired from all the fighting. "Woah, calm down kid! Take it easy!" King said as he backed up with his hands high in the air. He was surrendering to Yoruichi! Yoruichi glared at him and kicked him in his face, breaking his nose. "Take it easy? Nah. You just tried to jump me with your friends, too afraid to face me yourself! But look at you now... weak and helpless without those losers. Your not even worth finishing off." Yoruichi coldly said before turning around and walking away. The ambulance was down a few blocks away and he couldn't afford to be caught. He ran into an alleyway and climbed up a rusty old ladder, attempting to get to the rooftops for cover and safety. Stuff doesn't always go the way you intend it to go. The leader snapped and was beginning to tip over, Yoruichi lost his hold and fell from the ladder, only for a hand to grab him by his wrist. He looked up to see a young blonde haired woman and was completely in love at first sight. She looker GORGEOUS! She pulled him up and helped him onto the roof of a building, "Didn't expect you to be able to handle yourself like that! The way you just kicked the guy in the face and just walked away was so cool!" She said and he scratched his head. Did she just say that she didn't expect him to handle it so well? He wasn't so sure but if he was right, she must have set the damn thing up! Why would a hot babe like this be so damn evil!? "So, you are the reason I could have died! That's cold man!", Yoruichi shouted and she placed her hand over his mouth. She pointed at the ambulance and a group of police officers, who were arresting the guys down there. "My bad! My bad! It was really a test to see if you were worth training for. And you took the icing on the cake! You were so amazing and the way you called the ambulance like you knew you were gonna win from the start was just so goddamn cool!" She said with a huge smile and Yoruichi scratched his head in embarrassment. Wait, why is he even embarrassed? Maybe because he's near her. "So you are the dude training me? But Hoshika said that it was supposed to be a guy! Are you sure you didn't get mixed up-", he was quickly hushed with a bitchslap from the female. She glared at him, "So you are saying that you don't need my help? Fine. I'll go offer my services elsewhere!" And with that, the blonde woman was about to swan dive off the roof until Yoruichi stopped her. "I'm not saying that! I was just confused! Please train me, master!" Yoruichi got on his knees, pleading for forgiveness. She smiled and rubbed the boy's hair. "Alright, Yoruichi! Call me Master Trilla! We'll get you so strong that Renovatio will be blown away!" She said with a smile and the two began their training.
Yoruichi was busy day-dreaming of Soichiro and him eating a bowl of ice cream together. Why the hell is he even- nevermind. "HEY! GET TO WORK, YORU! YOUR BOSS COULD BE DEAD AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT AND YOU CHOOSE TO STAND THERE LIKE A FOOL?!", Trilla said and Yoruichi snapped out of it immediately. He had a rope tied around his waist and it was attached to a cart full of 500 bricks. His goal was to move the cart around Namimori and he was barely moving an inch from where he started, which was the amusement park of the town. He attempted running and that barely made the cart move an inch. He began to power walk with all of his might and it still didn't move an inch. He was genuinely confused on why it still hadn't moved and looked to his master. "Oh, right. I had the brakes on it activated, my bad!", she said. Quickly, Yoruichi was pulling the cart down the road to Namimori with sweat rolling down his forehead. The young boy began to grit his teeth so hard that Trilla thought that they were going to break. He yelled as he pulled the rope that connected him and the cart. Yoruichi was beginning to regret being trained by this woman, she expects him to finish this by today?! "Patience is a process, Yoruichi." Trilla said as he dragged the cart with him by the rope and sweat was drenching his clothes. Yuck. But that was a good sign, no? Ignoring what his master had said, Yoruichi was slowly making his way around to Namimori Shrine. Tourists or any nearby pedestrians watched in awe of his determination to get stronger. Some even took pictures of him and he ignored all the attention he was getting. His mind was full of thoughts that kept saying "FOR BOSS!" and Trilla knew that. She knew he couldn't give up on his training or else it would be breaking a promise to his friend. No– his brother. In such a short amount of time, Yoruichi and Soichiro have a bond that was much alike to Yoruichi's father and Giove XI's. A bond so pure that it was impossible to mistake them as brothers at first sight. Was Soichiro really that good of a boss to make his companion so determined to protect him? "OUUUUGHHHHHHH", Yoruichi yelled as he dashed towards Namimori. He had only one mile to go! And look at him, the cart was moving a lot more than it had been before. Yoruichi's body must have adapted to the amount of weight he was pulling forward... this kid is just full of surprises, huh? Trilla watched Yoruichi rush through the forest trail leading to the Shrine and smiled brightly. She loved his dedication that it almost made him look older. Too bad he was still too young for her. Anywho, Yoruichi arrived at the Shrine and fell onto the ground out of exhaustion. A sharp pain could be felt throughout his legs and he held back a groan. "Shit...! How am I going to run with my legs like this? Fuuuuck." He thought before he began to use his arms to crawl around on the earth, still attempting to finish his training. Trilla shook her head and swooped down from the trees to stop her apprentice. "You know, as a hitman, you need to learn when to give up. Every battle will be difficult and sometimes... you won't be able to win, no matter how hard you try to. Give up for now. I know it hurts your pride but I can't stand looking at my students like they are grovel underneath my feet." Trilla bluntly stated as she removed the rope around his waist and picked him up by his left wrist, staring deeply into his eyes. "Listen here, lady. No matter what, I won't back down if its for my boss. I don't care if you train me or not anymore, I'll get stronger. Strong enough to protect Boss with my own body." Yoruichi coldly said to Trilla and she shook her head once more. Kids these days are really hard-headed, ya know! She got down to her knees with her back facing him, beckoning him to get on her back. She planned on carrying him back to his home; She knew that his legs were on thin ice from snapping due to her training methods. That's what she loves about teaching... always putting the students in danger. While she carried him home, she forced him to listen to BTS on repeat the entire wall home. He was traumatized and probably never watching YouTube again for a few days. Maybe even weeks, to be honest. Yoruichi sighed and muttered, "She's WORSE than Reno!" and Trilla pretended not to hear that. To be compared to Renovatio, The best hitman there ever will be, was an insult to her pride! She was lucky enough to even hear the man's voice without a bullet through her skull. To be worse than that man... was utterly impossible. Trilla dismissed her thoughts as she noticed that they were at Yoruichi's residence and stood in front of the door that lead to the inside of the home. "Mama! I'm home-", Yoruichi's voice had been cut off as Mari swung the door open and had a knife pointed to Trilla's throat. Trilla raised an eyebrow, "Just what do you think you are doing?" Trilla said and Mari moved the knife from her throat. Mari sighed in embarrassment and glared at Yoruichi, "Sorry ma'am, I thought you were the '#1 Hitman'. Please welcome yourself inside." Mari said as Trilla carried Yoruichi inside and set him on a chair, carefully making sure his legs weren't able to hit anything. Trilla got closer to his left ear and began to whisper, "Does your mama know you are in the mafia?" She asked and he nodded. Then her actions earlier made more sense, especially the "#1 hitman" bit. She must have some vendetta against Renovatio, one so strong that she'd actually try to kill him. The last person who tried to kill the guy was murdered by him in less than an hour. His limbs had been sent all across Italy, even through Australia for some weird reason. Whatever the case, this woman had huge balls- I mean... uh, bre- nevermind. Back to the main topic. Mari entered the living room and had two cups in her hand, a bottle of beer in the other hand. "I think I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Mari. He's my son, as you already know. Thank you for bringing him back home, I was worried he would run into trouble since... nevermind that! Like I said earlier, make yourself at home." Mari set down the cups and placed them on a table, then began to pour the beer into both cups. Somehow, she brought out ice cubes and set them into the cups. She offered a cup to Trilla and the hitman accepted it. Trilla wasn't a heavy drinker; In fact, she preferred Apple juice over anything that has alcohol in it. But she will, on special occasions, drink beer. Its just a complicated thing that we will never understand. Trilla and Mari took a sip of the beer, with a groan of disgust coming from Yoruichi. "I'll be off, Yoruichi. You'll be training tomorrow at 12. Oh, and please wear any loose clothes! You'll need them!", Trilla warned her student with a wink and took off with the bottle of beer without Mari noticing. In fact, Mari was giving Yoruichi an omniscient glare and he let a nervous sigh. Here she comes with another lecture...
"So you are training. Great, for the next boss? Why do you choose to put yourself through hell for that boy?" She asked with a frown and he looked at her with a smile. One that shined as bright as the sun! "Because... I have to! Dad wouldn't want me to abandon a friend in trouble. He always told me that...", Yoruichi's voice disappeared from Mari's ears and the sound of her husband's voice hit her like a brick. "Without friends, I'm weak! They are the reason I'm super strong!", Yoruichi said as his mother saw the image of his dad where he was sitting. A tear escaped the woman's left eye and she ran off to her room, leaving Yoruichi puzzled and confused. Did he say something wrong?
————————
It was the 13th of February, a couple of days after the bake sale that Soichiro and his friends participated in. Wait... that means... TOMORROW IS VALENTINES DAY! Yoruichi let a shout in terror and shot up from his bed. He rubbed his forehead and noticed how sweaty he is. Does he have something against Valentines day? Probably. "Shit, it's 9'o clock. Should I wait for master to come get me or... do I just do my own kind of training for a bit? Well, it wouldn't hurt for a three hour warm up!", Yoruichi yelled in excitement and his mom woke up with an irritated growl. She was tempted to wake him up tomorrow with a bowl of water on his face. Yeah... he'd be silent then. Moving back to the main topic, Yoruichi dressed in a white T-shirt and shorts. These were the most loose and comforting clothes he had, directly given to him by his aunts. He rushed outside of his home and roamed the streets of Namimori for a few short minutes as he ran to his desired location. Where was he going? 'It better not be a dangerous place' is what his mom would say to him and he pushed that thought of his head. Thinking about his mom is... ugh! Sometimes she is just so difficult and bipolar for no reason! "Whatever! To be for real, I think she was gonna kill me when I told her that I'm the boss's right hand man." He said to himself as he walked far into the city with his phone out. He had it out just in case any wild animals were to come after him and he was able to tell the police where to find them. Yeah, the zoo seriously needs to find the person who let all these animals out. A few days ago, the news said that they found a knocked out boar with a tranquilizer dart in its forehead. Who could've done that?! The damn thing was so huge that they had to make a new truck to get it in. Yoruichi shortly arrived to his destination... a dojo! This dojo was a place where Yoruichi frequently trained whenever he had the chance or when he needed to blow off steam. A good dojo, where everyone was treated as family regardless of your past mistakes. The name of this dojo? Hajime No Taiyo. This dojo was made at least... 8 or 9 years ago so it isn't very old or well known like the other dojos in Namimori. But it was still a great place to come by, you know? "Heya, Yoru! Welcome back! We've been worried sick about ya, y'know?!" A young girl said to Yoruichi from behind a counter and waved at him. Her pink hair had covered her grey eyes, giving Yoruichi the opportunity to rub her head to make her hair a bigger mess. "I've been okay, you know? I'm just taking on an even harder training regime! You should train too, Kanao-chan!", he enthusiastically shouted and she covered her ears. Kanao didn't seem too big on the whole "training is everything" stuff that Yoruichi was always babbling about. But what was she even doing here in this dojo if she didn't want to build any muscle? Why, that answer was simple. "I'm supposed to pass out drinks to everyone, NOT training. Grandpa knows I'm not a fighter like the rest of you guys! I mean, I'm just your average teenager!" She frantically waved her arms for dramatic effect. Yoruichi titled his head as if he didn't understand a single word this girl had said to him. Kanao grabbed Yoruichi by his hand and dragged him to her grandfather; He had been a bit worried about Yoruichi too from what Kanao could tell. Yoruichi gulped as he entered a room with an old man in the center, peacefully meditating. He wasn't really THAT old... its just that he seemed that way because of his undying wisdom and knowledge. "I see you brought back one of our most beloved students, Kanao. I'm glad he is safe, thanks to the praying I did for the lord! But you don't want to hear another Bible verse, do you? I'll spare you the trouble and get to the main point. Yoruichi... I won't sneak my way into your business but are you training with Trilla? If so, then you came to the right place. She has been waiting for you. Go to the next room immediately and seek the power you desire." Kanao's grandpa said with his eyes closing and meditating once more. Kanao rolled her eyes and watched Yoruichi rush to the next room in a hurry, "Just what the hell is going on here?" she thought to herself as she started to follow him but was stopped by her grandfather. "This has nothing to do with you, Kanao. Stay here and wait! He'll be fine, probably a few broken bones, but fine." Her grandfather easily dismissed the thoughts of Yoruichi being hurt or even worse. This just made Kanao worry about him even more and silently pray for the boy.
....
Yoruichi stood in a room with his master standing in the center with a serious facial expression. "I'm glad you knew where to go, Yoruichi. If you didn't, I would have killed everyone here in the vicinity. Thankfully, you are smarter than most people take you for." Trilla said to her student and he muttered 'ouch'. She walked to him and knee'd him in his gut, making him cough out a bit of blood. He collapsed on the ground and tried to catch his breath, only for Trilla to kick him on the left side of his stomach. She repeated the action over and over again, effectively kicking the absolute shit out of him. "You can't trust everyone you meet!!", she shouted at him and he let out a sigh. His eyes darted to her leg, which was about to send a kick to his head, but he threw a weak punch at her foot and stopped the attack. Well, he didn't really stop it. She stopped because she took a bit of pity on him and let him get up, it was disgraceful to attack a man while he's down. But she- nevermind. He quickly got up and threw a quick punch at Trilla's face, only for her to move her head to the side and let his punch pass by. He kept throwing more punches at her but they all were evaded by his master. "Your main problem is the lack of speed." She said and he flipped her off for her blunt response. She slapped him to the ground and stared him down, "We have a long way to go before you can defend Giove Dodicesimo." Trilla muttered to herself and waited for him to get back up. He stood with a cheek that had a red imprint of her hand and stared at her with a cold eyes. Blood leaked out of his mouth and he wiped it away with his arm. He began to reminisce about his father.
A tall man stood at the entrance of Yoruichi's home back in Italy. His light brown hair had been slightly burned... did something terrible happen? Possibly. Whatever the case, Yoruichi watched his father heal the mysterious man with the help of a golden scalpel. "Thank you, Dan! Without your help, I'd be a goner!" The man said with joy being hinted in his voice. Dan looked at him and laughed wildly, the two men laughed together. "I'll be seeing you later, Dan! Don't die until I come back!" The man had said to Yoruichi's father and disappeared within the blink of an eye. Did that guy... just teleport?! No way! Kid Yoruichi ran to his father and tugged on his pants. "Daddy! Why do you always heal that guy?", Kid Yoruichi asked of his father and he kneeled down to his kid with a big smile. "I thought it was obvious! He's my friend. No matter what happens, I'll always help him. Even if it costs me my life, you know? 'Cause when you have a friend that you care about so much, you develop a bond so strong that it would mean you guys are brothers. Not by blood, but by heart. One day, you'll have a brother like that! So protect him until your body breaks!" Dan shouted and Mari gently smacked him on the back of his head. "So he's more important than us!", she jokingly said and Dan tried to persuade her that he wasn't. "You guys are my world, you know that?!"
Yoruichi remembered his father's words and held a fist up. "I'm not anywhere close to the power my old man had, I know thats for sure. But... I'll keep getting stronger to protect my brothers! My family's lives is more important than my own body! So go ahead and break all my bones, I'll just keep coming back and getting strong!" He shouted at her and Trilla smiled before kicking him in the face. "Yeah, alright. Let's see how much you'll talk with a broken skull!"
....
I would've made this fight scene a little bit longer but... I'm too lazy. But on chapter 15, I plan to go all out on the combat scenes and the backstories of some of the characters we know.
Hotaru: So like, I'm just irrelevant now-
Don't make me make you lose an arm.
Hoshika: Thankfully, I don't have to train any of you.
Kaname: Shut. The. Hell. Up.
Lucci: Share the story with your friends or I'll put you in a freezer full of grenades! >:)
